I started taking just some cheap wally world PRO-BIOTICS and wala, I do not fail, and went to gastro drs and and all kids of tests, trust me some times simple is better, and water water water. I am pre-op and I checked all my inners to makes ure this was not going to cause me grief getting the lap band. I will stand by the pro-biotics,

    October 7th surgery date!

Congrats ladies,,, I think my Sept is gonna FLY- my last weigh in is Oct 7 and pkg should be submited then - so I hope it comes back soon. How long has been your wait time w insurance?

So how long was wait from surgeon submittal to approvals?

    BCBS Fed

I have to complete the full 90 days, 3 visits be 60 days total, adding days forward. So Oct. 6, 2011, I weigh in and they check all my info, letters, the full package for the insurance and fax it, soon as they can, I prefer e-mail but not done that way. So 4 visit = 90 days. If i could get banded in OCT I would be estatic. but Nov. will do. What I don't get is why it should take longer than a few days to process an approval. they are not federal... let me shut my trap.

great site keeps me accountable and keeps me on track so I know by noon what I can spend lol.. like a check book
  8. I am sure you are NOT the only one in that line of patients, but maybe this is a blessing in desguise, better to avoid a problem than complications later. For what ever her reasons, you are better OFF, be very sure to get your records! and find an alternative Dr and keep in contact with insurance co so you dont have to start over, Sometimes things happen for a GOOD reason... Keep us posted! I am sure it is gonna be better than OK
  9. wow,,, thtas great!!! i see Dr aguila tuesday.. then 30 days later I can submit PPwork, I pray it's October, be glad to have that part over n done with. How you feeling?

I have used this place called Affinity weight loss center, and they sell protein shakes, so I bought 20. I have them for after, the surgery as I must get the ones he sells for the required pre-op 2 week diet,

  10. I would imagine once approved, you get scheduled for an operating room and in line for your surgeons surgeries. I think couple of weeks max-

    Should I wait

They actually look at 180 done days,, so it be visit # 7 before paper work goes in. I am praying my insurance will not have any issues and approve me quickly, they have 30 days. BUT if something is missing, it could delay that, so add up the tiem frame and costs. I know with BCBS people who started on the 2010 plan, which was basically a letter from your DR- and fell into 2011 plan -had to follow the new rules, and that changed to the 6 mo deal. Sucks, I know- they should grandfather in the requirements, but they dont. BUT dont give up, delay does not mean denial.

  16. I handle my PB and prediabetes with out medicine BUT my PCP writes it down on my chart... that's all you need! not how it is treated. Talk to your PCP, he has to check you out and see if you have GERD or whatever, Good luck

    Premera?

Its a form of BCBS so I looked on line, and you need to call your ins co directly or HR at your job, they list them all with check your policy in red letters, An employer can Op-out for their area, so no blanket answer

    Need Insurance Advice

You play for a plan , the plan is picked by your employer, unless it's medicaid, and they choose the types of coverage that will benefit their employees. Until the law changes, this is the way it works. I do not know about pre-existing conditions, I believe that was changed, but again for morbid obesity, it is slippery, even though people die every day because of it. You need to push the envelope in your state and on the job. There are credit cos that will help finance and the prices have dropped, but that is what you have to work with.
