Unsatisfied with the Lap Band surgery!!!!
Grider replied to poopgirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Suspicious because there are haters in the forums who scare you to death about lap bands, and they attack when some is in doubt,,, I guess they have nothing better to do. The get thin people seem to have a bad reputation? I do know in my researches, I found out the way they sutured and placed the band has changed over the last few years for better success. There are some technical or medical words for it, I am sure you can find it-but I wonder if "how" your band was done makes the difference.? -

Grider replied to momee3021's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I decided when my dental assistant told me she had it done and I knew her for a long time. you might be able to meet people in your area.. go to a Drs support group who you might choose, they are free, and you can hear what they have to say one on one. I am not fond of the seminars, but the support groups are very open -
Just watching the clock, waiting my turn one day soon, my smile will return. Another week passed How long does it take? for the doctor's signature to make? Preparing my flexing leaping and spinning. Dreaming of dancing while quietly sipping. What are my chances of staying awake, not fainting or falling or going insane! Tic toc tic toc is all I hear, prefer knock knock I am finally here! Approval please come! and make me happy Give me my date for the surgery I surely await!

Federal Employee Insurance and Plastic Surgery After Weight Loss
Grider replied to dsimcox's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Hi, There are a few of us fepblue out here, I have not been banded yet, but my policy said absolutely not. BUT, I have heard if you have like huge issues from the skin - rashes or other medical issues etc they might do it. Your Dr. then has to say it is medically necessary. Have you called the 800 and asked? Most reps are pretty cool and will talk to you, not all, but most. Maybe some other will give you a better answer,,, but-good luck! -

PPO insurance covers surgery but DOCTOR won't!
Grider replied to poopgirl's topic in Insurance & Financing
drinking and lap band do not mix,,, at 64 it be even harder to find anyone to do the surgery, and this is only going from what i am hearing from my surgeon,, as i am taking many tests for other stuff and im 58 before he will band me. Every thing has to be followed to the letter, not to errode the band - I am not sure about his meds now and a tiny pouch? -
Warning For Those Just Starting The Lap Band Surgery Inquiry Process
Grider replied to abqann's topic in Insurance & Financing
I gained 10 lbs more to keep me at 43BMI and have lost down to 41 BMI and holding.. I am not quiet done with everything, but that's other tests etc. I have heard many had to re-gain weight to apply.. so dont give up the ship! nobody said you need to do surgery on a particular time frame, they cannot hold you to an excat date for surgery.. what are the possibilities? it's alot 25 lbs to gain but ,, When does the new ins. kick in-? any changes? ours is Jan 1, 2012, I had called and said Ok -I did all this, and now the medical tests are delaying my surgery, will my required process run out of time,? I was told NO,,, so if my medical tests took 3 mo more,,, I still did my needed stuff to be approved --make some more calls- but dont tell ins co you might just eat cake n ice cream for 30 days-- -
