Call your Dr. You want to make sure it is just trapped gas. I think after a day or two, it should go away and if it hasn't time for that call. You went in fir your post op visit? I had some thicker soup and i was not happy all night, doing the yogurt thing today see if I can push it forward. I have hard time sleeping, sideways pillow and getting comfortable a pain. Call the doc in morn.

My Lap Band Was Removed After 2 Weeks...
Grider replied to Myturn12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My grand had to have an fundoapplication for severe gerd and with-in one week his tummy looked pregnant and he was very sick, they opened him again and flushed his insides with anibiotics. He was fine after that for years, Infections can just happen, different reasons and issues. Glad the surgeon took care of you right away. Feel better. -
Lots of protien that is good. I have hard time with the water,,, cooler temps do not help. Im making mushy soups and water them down. Usually 1/2 or hour later then all the wiggling and gurgling starts in my tummy. some areas pinchy other like muscles flexing. weird hope that means all is well in there? I have not walked except shopping - need to get going... soon
-
Congratulations! How are you doing? the mushy stage going ok? As long as I can do these soups, I can survive!
-
I know with Basic you have a $5000 max out of pocket per year, with all of my dr visits endoscopys etc I was up around $1500, so this helps keep the balance due of the difference. The less owed better of course! I am glad you are doing good, congrats! and 25 lbs whooh whoo. I am happy, Im on the way. Have you been filled yet, or soon to be? Thanks NJ 2NC, I keep trying-- get all the way to the top, and then blam. One door closes and and a window will open some place. I might put in for a job in Miami. Tampabay is a retirement spot and hard to move up as everybody wants to come here. BUT just like getting this band I'll keep trying.

I will eat beans daily but I'v not used a crock pot in years- maybe I should get one as beef or chicken stew be good too all soft and tender.

and more will come... slow and easy we all gonna get our sexy back .. -
Congrats and yes drink water and walk. I walked around in circles in a deck at my daughters house every time I'd go pee, it helped, but I m sure some neighbors wondered who the crazy lady was outside at 3 am walking in circles mumbling and burping. Its the best medicine.

Hang in there! Happy New Year!! -
Are you staying over nite? I did not plan to, but i would NOT wake up, I stayed till morn then tried to go at 9 am- finally released at 12. I do not know if they will charge an additonal day or not as you can stay 23 hours lingering on your OUTpatient. I kept metioning the 23 hr thing and i was too groggy to say much more. So now lest see what the bill, will come to- if too much> PT job here I come. I was not selected for higher positions I had put in for. Maybe I need to apply in DC! The protein shakes keep you pretty satisfied- when do you start that?

Beans are counted as protien,,, and yes they do have some carbs, for my full liquids I made a huge pot of 3 bean soup very mashed and strained, but great great food. JUST MASH as you dont wnat the gas in da pouch

I Had Lap Band Surgery 8 Days Ago And I Still Feel Iky...do Others Feel This Way?
Grider replied to mjp33's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It will get better day 3.. hang in there, -
I too live alone so easier to do. It all reminds me of when I had babies, making milk and preparing baby foods etc etc. I have made a huge bean soup, with butter swash and seasonsings and mashed it all up n strained it into liquid enough to make 2 quarts. The thing with the soups, it makes you feel like you eating great adult food. and very satisfying. Feels good on the tummy asl well. Beans are great for you. so try to fix a good meal and make enough carry you through. My 1st fill is Jan 24,,, hang in there!!

I was banded Dec22 and I am in same boat -gurgling, side pain, and do not pick up that lint on the floor! cause it will hurt, sitting in front of PC kinda uncomfortable too, I figure all the brusing and swelling inside,,, slow n easy, some faster healers than others, I still have my bruise when they drew blood pre- op! Hang in there,,, -
Yea it does, good luck!

My suggestion is prepare lots of " your foods" I bought 2 dozen small plastic containers and filled them up with jello or jello and yogurt parfait, green pea soup, onion soup, and today making black bean soup and maybe some squash soup and it will be at my fingertips. Yest I took 4 of these and my milkshake on my shopping trip etc and my kids bought me a nice lunch bag- and I ate the same way I would have fed my babies 40 yrs ago, every 3/4 hours. I think preparation helps.

Would a chicken tamale count as a mushie?
Grider replied to thecooley's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am planning on making "tamale a la quasela". cuban food, or kinda a tamale pie but not really. Its like making some cream of wheat but corn masa and adding some white boiled chicken, seasoning and chicken broth and cooking it well on stove. then 1/2 cup max if that much im working on 1/3 cup for a dinner-- you can make it mushy, hard and thick or add veggies or bacon, ham what ever- it is just a base meal... the question is- does the corn swell up like white flour?
