Expresso and cafe con leche is my cup of tea but have not had any since surgery and mimicing with decaff and vanilla protien shake,,, hanging in there with that. and as for the cuban, the real cuban bread breaks up like craker all over the floor, as its made with water n no egg. When it is pressed there is no meat of the bread left so not sure. Im trying to encorporate my latin dishes into what fits the lap band and what doesnt.

BASEL, Switzerland -- Novartis is recalling some bottles of Excedrin, NoDoz, Bufferin and Gas-X Sunday over concerns that the bottles could contain stray pills from other medicines, or chipped or broken tablets. The news follows Novartis' recent decision to temporarily suspend production at its Lincoln, Neb., plant for "maintenance and other improvement activities." The Swiss drug maker said it implemented the recall, which affects U.S. retailers, voluntarily and is working with the Food and Drug Administration during the process. It became aware of the potential problem during an internal review that identified broken and chipped pills, and inconsistent bottle packaging that could cause pills to be mixed up. The company said it wanted to make sure that customers didn't take any pills that they might be allergic to or that might become dangerous when mixed with their other medications, though it also said that there have been no such reports from consumers. Novartis said that some of the bottles of headache medicine Excedrin and caffeine caplets NoDoz with expiration dates of Dec. 20, 2014, or earlier will be subject to the recall. Some of the packages of pain medicine Bufferin and stomach medicine Gas-X with expiration dates of Dec. 20, 2013,or earlier will be affected. ---Huffinton Post 01/09/2011

Now That You Have Had The Surgury, What Negatives Have You Experienced Thus Far?
Grider replied to marketingdude's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am just post band but the pulling and pinching pains on my muscles and tummy and port area are very discouraging. I am now scared of hurting myself even further, or wondering what is actually happening to my inners. I was very excited, now I am biting my nails. -

So What Classifies As Mushy Food
Grider replied to elsykes39's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
cream of wheat, sugar free puddings- cream soups and anything you would feed a 6 mo old baby. -
HI, sorry I did not get to meet you - I did ask - The juice was cramberry mixed with gatorade, in the first week, I was explaining how I have kept all the rules until this one thing I stuck in my mouth. The milkshakes he said until 3rd week. I dont have any of those left, but protein powder. BUT you are very right, have to watch the P's & Q's. I did not tell people on my job I had wls surgery and I think I just wanted to participate in the whoo whoo, which we dont have often. My mistake. The body feels better since the milk of magnesia, little tug on my left side, maybe gas? and the back feels better like night and day, must have been constipation??? I do wonder if my muscles are so soft in my tummy now, that things too loose in there, still have issues laying on side an stuff.

I had a small empanada during my mushy stage- I did chew well and took my time, i was fine till later that night i felt my stomach distended and like a ball drop in side 2 times. I am very gurgly today and not real pain but discomfort and feel full although sticking to clear liquids today- or until this passes! I also know that I am constipated so buyi that milk of magnesia on way home. Anyone else misbehave like me? Please do not yell at me, I know I should have waited to eat that hard afood for another 2 weeks. Just want to know if all is lost...

Erroded bands are from thinning out of the stomach walls by whatever makes your lining thin.. too much acid, caffeine naids(aspirin) and bubbly. Think of the wrist watch on your wrist and when you eat too much salt and it gets swollen-and it rubs and leave a mark. Some have stomachs of steel , I used to eat dirt, as a kid) not anymore,

Milk of magnesia did its charm. but still muscle pains and pulling around incisions, Im going to see if I get a waist band this morn. I read someone was helped by keeping muscles in place. I still have bruise from pre-op blood test, on my arm- although they say my incisions were healed, my inners probably NOT. staying on soft mushies. and yes worried I pulled something with the heavy food, though I think band is ok I dont know about the sutures- also had a huge hernia that was patched. If i take a deep breath, my back feels like it will break,I hope this pain goes away, I will feel better. Seeying my reg Dr tuesday.

Difficulty With Bubble Post-op?
Grider replied to pilze0's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep, take a week or more to eat right the anesthesia and surgery prevent you from eating right, don't worry, wont be long, and now im going into the milk of magnesia stage, cause that's not working yet either. I was banded 22 Dec. -
I think Ill feel better when all pain is gone, I still fill that pulling feeling near the port and like i have been punched. I feel like day 1 post op- but I guess Ill just do liquids and hope tummy will calm down.

Ok Im home and got my milk of magnesia, I think the constipation is major issue, wont go into details. I have been on juice n milkshakes today and feel much better and yes no fills yet. I have all my 1/3 cup of foods prepared and have been doing just fine with diet but the office offered and it was small and i figured I could chew it to nothing -so I accepted. In my house there a NO bad foods- so I think Im fearing well, except this incident. just surprized a the way tummy behaved last nite, did not sleep at all. so was worried i did something

I was tempted yes and I did fall, now the question is HOW is the band>? is all the gurgling etc from trying to digest the heavier food? constipation part of problem? I dont feel sick or vomiting or anthing bad, but not as good as i was feeling before I ate that meatpie from hell. Oh and banded Dec 22, 11 so in my critical stage,
