    I Need Some Advice...

Im anxious to hear the answers too- if i did not see the scars - i dont know I have a band, but I know it's early in the game, only one fill. Some days I feel something tightening but mostly nothing. I only buy the best foods to eat and try to keep that 1/2 cup in my mind. So no junk foods, etc and portion control -but waiting for the red flags and whistles to say " STOP FULL - WARNING- OVERFILL- STOP, BAND has reached it's maximum capacity!! warning!! bahh bahh - hmm-- maybe I watch too many movies? I think people have said if you strech the pouch etc you feel sick somehow? Hope you gets lots of answers.

    Personal question!

Its an issue for me, but trying to drink the water and maybe do a softner, or just a little milk of magnesia,,, so much protein , no fat and limited veggies, and fruit. it can be a game to figure out what best works for ya.

    Hospital Stay

I was supposed to go same day, but was too groggy and went next day at lunch. there is this 23 hour outpatient rule, that is you leave before then, you are not really charged for the next day.
  8. I had all sorts of pain- upper back, left isde kidneys,, it was constipation, if you sure you are OK there, call the DR- I took the milk of magnesia and had NO clue I was so constipated from surgery meds and protiens etc... 2 days later was a new woman.

    Where are all the seniors?

I'll be 59 in April and had my band Dec 22, 2011, I think if older, just give your self more time to heal. I did the gym this week and sore, so I'm building up to it. I think our metabolism is really slow as well, but just stick to the Drs orders and you shall be well..
  10. Rem now all the pain meds should be out of your body, so your body will actually feel this surgery. You may be increasing soft foods etc and the digestive system is not ready for that quiet yet. I found out I was super constipated with proteins and meds and I took the milk of magnesia. Once it worked, it relieved me of back pain port pain and left side pain. just that simple, but I did not know that is what caused my problem.
  11. I think many of us loose then we freeze. If you look under the topic "frustrated", we all seem to be on the same boat. I think the body wants what it wants and will not give it up until it has no chance holding on, then you loose the weight. Steady as it goes, until you break that barrier.
  12. Started going to the gym and I hurt all over but no weight loss. I think it will just come off when the conditions are right. For me probaly summer.. pools, beach, sweat! even though doing the gym, i still feel like a winter bear in hibernation

    Rate Of Weight Loss?

I lost 23 lbs over all but even though I have had one fill and started jumpin at the gym, the weight still kinda stuck, dropped 2 lbs, since, but not much else, about ready to go on milkshakes again? I know my metabolism is slow and not feeding it, it will just stop burning calories. Been down the same road many times. Only thing I hope, is the Zumba classes will hit that plateau, and crank the body up again. I am so ready for summer, I am non-stop in hot weather.

    So Frustrated...

I did mess up and ate one meat empanada about 1 week post surgery i had pain all night and it finally digested, stayed on my plan since that day. It was not a big empanada, maybe 1/2 cup of food just type of food- way too heavy. Been good ever since.

    No Surgery Fix....

many variables, age, skin tone, kids, how much weight you had vs height and how active. I think sitters like me- who sit all day at work, have it worse, but working on that at the gym.

New To This Website And Lapband

Welcome to the lapband experience, was just banded with Dr Aguila at Memorial Hospt,Tampa. I am older but figuring I may need a few tucks here and there after I loose all the weight I want to loose. One of my friends was having some sagging bat wings but she went and got herself a trainer and she looks so much better, I was surprized exercise really helped her out, maybe weight training? It is better to be thinner and healthier and then you can see if you need any further tucks. Every bodys skin and shapes are different. but do not let that be a deal breaker.
  20. My daughter in law ahd 2 babies after a full body lift. she does not have a saggy anything after the babies. She blew up like a ballon and gained leg weight which now is gone, but her waist maintained. So, wont affect the babies. Now when she asked about a tubal ligation she does need a different procedure because of the tummy tuck- from what they normally do.
  21. call Dr- might need to change right away. You do not want to go to surgery sick n weak. some put them on protien diet instaed of shakes

    What Is Your Workout Routine???

I finally joined the gym and got all my gear etc, Dr say I am good to go, so after I get back out of town, will be heading for the gym. My family (son) and grands moving away mid feb so been all involved with that, so after their move- I will be alone in the area, have no where to go but work gym n church, then I can concentrate on me.
  24. Yea- i was banded dec 22 and not yet eating the hardcore foods, eggs tuna etc, no real meat. But back on my probiotics cause with me, it makes all the difference in the world. If the plumbing is working- I eat my right portions with out any discomforts. I was amazed of the difference.

How Long To Wait Between Fills

Had my first fill, drank the water didn't feel a thing? Maybe I'll know tomorrow when I go back to eating my meals. Only thing I notice, is I am not drinking the whole cup of coffee or downing the entire protien shake.? Anyhow Dr say next fill 4 weeks.
