  1. I may have problem with onions after fills? so far nothing- anyhow I did not eat the onions off the gyro i had like 3 pieces of mystery meat and other stuff inside and the hard one was the piece of that pita bread which i swallowed (no chewing) it was hard going down, then I threw it all away. anyhow its slowly getting better- I guess we can hurt/aggrivate/ strech the pouch with a bad piece of food.?
  2. Thanks coocabean. I felt this same way early when I ate an empanada in 3 weeks post op... I think you are right- liquids till swelling goes down, I think I did tylenol too. I did nto eat much of the gyro, maybe 1/3 of it n threw it away, but I rem gulping that one peice if the bread hard. poor stomach! now its payback time.
  3. I dont think its stuck in that way-unless there are food particles NOT digested. I think we must chew food to death because there is NO digestion in the pouch??, just pushes food down to reg part of stomach. I feel like I ate a lump of something- just aggrevated and swollen. I need to get the enzime pills- anything else wouldl help/ warm tea? trying that next-Nothing has ever come up, not even froth, just the knoting up of tummy feeling and gas and swollen -dont want anything tight around my waist..
  4. Thanks, a month wow. I do wonder as they fixed my hital hernia if this got aggrivated as well with the lifting. Tue is Dr day. Hope the knot is gone by then so he can do my 2nd fill.
  5. the band is wraped around certain nerves in your upper stomach that tell the brain it is full. so when the pouch is filled, there should be a message going to brain... stop im full. I have only one fill, so for now, dont think the message is loud enough for my brain to hear, althought I have cut my food intake alot.

    Vegetables And Fruit

From having slow digestion before lapband if the fruits n veggies do not pass the band quickly, they ferment. I do not recomend some type of meat or bread n then fruit, it may sit awhile until meat digests. Just wait a bit. I do them as snacks.

    Happy And Sad

How you know it has slipped? I heard immediate slips can just mean an unfill.

    Hello Fellow Fla Banders

This one is almost in Largo/ alt 19- I used to go to St Petes but that was through excrutiating traffic to get to it from 4th street. Now im 15 min away from this one. Pinellas is not that big -just alot of traffic, wish 19 was highway not a traffic light street. Nnyhow gonna try next week to get back on schedule, really wish I had a buddy to meet up with. Good luck in finding right place,

    Abdominal Pain....gas?

Mine was constipation, did not realize all that protein sticks to your inners, now I keep milk of magnesia near by and surprized everytime I do use it. Dr let me have my pribiotics again, but when I do get those pains - it is that.
  11. Makes sence thanks- if by morning I still feel same will do the ice thing. The lifting was 2 pieces of peg board but i had to carry it all way to my apt. I just know I did not feel good after. The hot bath helped and took all that binds off,,, and got into pjs.

    Burping

I do some deep burping, not every day not every meal not every glass of water but when I purb- I BURP for real. I think it s better to burp than keep the gas inside. I do wonder the meachnics of it though now that we have a little and a big stomach?
  13. Not sure if men do emotional eating as women do? Maybe someone can shed light on this?

    Evaluations/waiting

they usually set you up with all the necessary tests, i had to have a endoscopy and a manometry swallow test. because i ahd some prior issues.
  15. I hope Tue when I see my Dr he gives me my next fill and it really makes a difference. I eat less than what I used to, but not what I would call a huge difference. I sometimes fill full for a long time with a heavy meal, but no restriction or burping or any of that. Except that full feeling at times, I dont really know I have a band ---yet.

    Help Could I Be Stuck?!

In the begenning certains foods hurt more than others to digest. I guess your tummy is tender and heavy foods do not go down so well. I have a problem still with any cream cheese,,, it sits in my stomach- seems like forever.

    Newbie Not Doing Well!

I think loosing slow and steady is better all the way around. Everybody will loose differently, but as long as you are making progress. I do not want my gall bladder removed from loosing too much at once. I am now looking at 185 the last 4 days... it was stuck at 187 but wala... dropped two someplace. and I am happy for that. I am learning --and my body is adjusting.

May they take good care of you and all go extra well. It will be great. Keep your expectations level, takes a few days to get self right. You will do fatastic!

    Newbie Not Doing Well!

I have heard some Dr.s get pretty loud if they think the patient is not following instructions. Eating bad calories and grazing and maybe not exercising more. Mine never yelled at me and at my 1st fill i had lost inches but only 2 lbs- he was happy with that, I was afraid it was not enough. But the nurses have scared me that he would NOT do surgery if I didnt push myself away from my old habits, so it took extra effort, and I made it. 6lbs lost during pre-op and by my scale, down 2 more lbs - thats all. Watch your salt and water intake and just keep plugging along, it will happen. And tell the DR exactly what you are eating and doing.

    Dont Get A Lapband

I only know this poor person is in distress and scared- she just feels at this moment she may save you from same experience- give her a break,,, you happy with your band, great =I am too- but I also understand some are suffering and her telling you NOT to get one, will only change the minds of those not sure of what they really want to do. Again their decision. She just givng her experience apparently from another country. Hope things go well for you honey.
  23. I questioned my decision with some issues I was having, pain, gas and constipation, but since I have learned how to eat, what to eat and what to expect, it's getting better all the time. I seem to have finally broke those 2 lbs that were keeping me from loosing weight, so I am happy. I saw my grands today and my picky g-daughter told me my face n neck look so much better and not like a chicken lol. So, my efforts are working!!
  24. I learned to use lemon or cooking wine since forever. not sure if it was because salt was in other or not, and my dad suffered w high BP- so my mom always used cookign wines, and lemons on fish and chickens.

    Disapproval From Others.

Haters that are against you bettering your self in ANY way get a check off list of my book- I do not have time for them. I mostly know who they are beforehand, but some times you get surprised. and then you dont have to stand up for yourself or give an explanation- walk away and save yourself the stress of an unwanted comeback. Haters are unhappy folks, and you will not change them. This is your life, and your best decision for self, nobody needs to explain it, unless maybe it is for mom or dad who may fear for you in some way and you just calm them with an explanation.
