That's the most beautiful baby I've seen in a long while! I am due a grandchild April 1st. It's going to be a girl.

Well, I don't want to wait a year for surgery either. Maybe, if insurance clears me I will check on Dr. Madan. Wonder if that is possible??? It sure takes a long time to get all my ducks in a row. My PCP is taking her sweet time getting my records to Dr. Woodman. We will see.

I am from Memphis and want to have surgery by Dr. Woodman. Any comments?

My pcp is not really thrilled about me wanting the surgery and has tried to talk me out of it. (She probably weighs 300 lbs herself.) I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not??? She said that one of her patients that has had LBS is doing great, one has lost too much weight, and one lost weight and is gaining it back. She is cooperating though. She sent a referral letter to Dr. Woodman, my surgeon, and needs to send another letter directed to the ins. company. I talked to the office about that today. Dr. Woodman said during the seminar if your pcp won't write you a letter, find one that will!

I haven't read one bad thing about Dr. Ortiz, and I have been reading these boards for months now. I just read an article about a brother and sister in California that the doctor banded them both, because he wanted them to lose 150 before he would do bypass surgery on them. They were both close to 600 lbs. Yea that other do is nuts. Go with Dr. Ortiz.

Everything will be ok. The doctor will take all into account and get you started on the right path. CONGRADS ON THE NEW BABY!!!!

I told a couple of friends at work that I was thinking about LBS and they almost freaked out. They are all so nosey there that I figured they would find out some way, so I just told them. I won't tell my boss until I get a surgery date. I will have to tell him because I may have to take off from work for fills and such. I have good friend that we go out to eat with all the time and I dread telling her because she is so negative! I guess she will figure it all out when we go out to eat and I just eat some of what my husband has on his plate!

Hello everyone: I am in the process of getting my requirements together so Dr. Woodman's office can send it all into the insurance company. I have seen the Nutritionist, the Pschye doc, seen Cindi, advised pcp to transfer copies of my records, asked pcp to send in comorbidities and referral. Now I am waiting. I guess I will wait a week and call Dr. Woodman's office and see where I am. So I guess I am on my way?? :clap2: Hope to get the surgery and loss 75 to a 100 lbs. Anyone else out there trying to do the same thing? Buffy

I lived in Chatta for 30 years before I moved to Memphis for the past 25 years. My how time flies. I hope to have surgery by Dr. Woodman here in memphis. Good luck to u. Buffy

I am trying to get the Lap band surgery by Dr. Woodman also. I have done everything I am supposed to do but now it is up to the other Docs (pcps) to submit what they need too.
