Im hoping i dont need a revision surgery as well. They talked abouta suture but if it fails will cause more complications. I just want to do what fixes the issues -

I meet with my surgeon in a week to find out whats next. Im just nervous since i had band removal, rny and 3 endoscopies in 6 months. I have an 11 month old also so this entire process is taking a toll. Im so afraid of not getting better. -
I have to make an appt with yhw surgeon to discuss next options. The dilation was not successful since I woke up. It is such a disappointment I was hoping for success.

I had to gain 20 pounds before insurance woild approve me for the revision. Amd had to redo all.the classes

I have my 3rd dilation tomorrow. In talking to my surgeon if this doesn't work they will need to do another surgery. I am feeling discouraged and let down. I am 8 weeks post op and lost 51 pounds but am terrified of a 3rd surgery in less than 9 mos. Hopefully tomorrow works

I had similar experience but mine was due to the barium used for testing. It passed at about 8 days post op -
Thank you. My band experience was wonderful until the day it slipped. I had lost 115 pounds then over night my life changed. I am down 45 pounds now and another 85 until my goal weight. This too shall pass they only think 2 more but its no longer in my hands

Yesterday i had my second dilation. They also had to remove an ulcer. Im just praying they this cycle ends soon. About every 6to7 days my stomache closes and i need another dilation.

I had my dilation. It went well however i have another one oct 7. The opening was smaller than a pinhole. They removed all sutures and arw guessing i will need up to 4 dilations every 2 to 3 weeks. Thanks for the support. I was soo nervous but now feel back to normal!!

Band to possible RNY revision questions

My dr would not do a sleeve revision because your cutting through scar tissue and the staples would be in that scar tissue. With the bypass you have a greater chance of healthy tissue to reattach to. I am a month bypass today and have lost 38 pounds. The bypass has saved my life. I have not experienced dumping yet. I have to constantly remind myself to eat because I am not hungry. I wish i would have done bypass in the first place. -
I went to my surgeon on tuesday and i have to wait until this Tuesday for my scope. Ive been on liquids with some difficulty for 8 days. They are thinking i will need multiple scopes about a week apart. Im just hoping for the best.

Thank you. I cant wait I am down 37 pounds and I am thrilled so far. But i have been so weak and feeling gross with just liquids. I am so glad there are others out there that have similar experiences

They said if i go a day without liquid they will send a nurse to give me fluids at home. Thank you for all your help. I was really nervous about it.

I cant even keep my Vitamins down. I can barely keep liquids down. Its just plain awful and I have my appt tuesday which will be 11 days like this. Do you start the phases of food all over again?

NY. They said they can scope at 4 weeks. Im just aggravated because they knew it was going to happen because of the severe scarring from my lapband.. They should have just scheduled the appt for me at 4 weeks. I go back to work next week and will have to already miss time

Ok. My dr said they may make me wait a week they have never done a scope at 3 weeks. Im trying to hold up but im week and can barely keep fluids down

Did you have to do more than one scope? The surgeon said I may need multiple scopes to keep it open.

Thank you! In very nervous since i had a very rough recovery and the last thing I want is for them to have to do surgery again.

What did they have to do to fix it? I go back to work in a few days

I just had my revision 12 days ago. I am down 24 pounds since pre op diet started on 8/15. Ive lost 8 pounds post op. It was a rough go after surgery but I had extensive scarring from my band failure. I am 10000% happy with my rny so far. I was nervous and thought to back out but I am so happy to be on my new journey -

I did have a rare case but want others to know that it may not be easy. I have lost 8 pounds post op which is 11 days. That does not include 6 days of iv saline weight. -

I waited 6 months and weighed more than when banded. I am down 20 lbs in 3 weeks since beginning pre op diet. I think more time to heal the more complications. I had extensive scaring and caused their to need a different rny connection. Good luck. -

@@Sreeves it was very scary since I was never told how severe the complications could be. I also got an infection which caused hallucinations. All I had was a picture of my beautiful 9 month old at home that I needed to make it through to see. On day 4 the nurse sanitized my room so he could visit me. That was the day my progress turned around. I truly am grateful for this opportunity but it was not easy.
