Billing Vent!!! Did this happen to you?

Ha ha ha ha! I wish others could see that socialized medicine isn't as bad many Americans believe it to be. While no health care system in the world is perfect, a single-payer system works and allows all citizens to obtain health care. Yes, you pay higher taxes but by sharing the risk pool and sharing the costs, it allows everyone to obtain health care, which should be a right of every citizen, not just those who can afford it. I'll step down off my soap box now.
  3. Sounds like the last few days have been rough. I had my gallbladder removed many years ago, and banded six days ago. I'll bet even if they have to remove the band until you get the gallbladder removed, they may be able to put the band back on after they have the gallbladder removed. Maybe a bump in the road for you, but I suspect everything will get resolved without too much effort. Best of luck to you. Let us know how thinks turn out for you.
  4. Hi Michael!

I had my surgery performed by Dr. Jon Gonsalvo at the Palms of Pasadena Hospital. My insurance is Humana and they required me to have my surgery performed by a Bariatrics Center of Excellence. I really like Dr. Gonsalvo and was very pleased with the Palms of Pasadena Hospital. I went back to work for a half day today and was exhausted! Let me know if you have any oth...

    About 6 days post op

Hi Dawn! I'm six days post-op too. I had to laugh when I read your description of how you were feeling because I could definitely relate! I went back to work for a half day today and when I came home I was thoroughly exhausted! As far as what happened to you, I wish I could give you better answers. I know that for now I'm paying such careful attention to any signs given to me by my stomach. I've watched for "soft signs" that other people have mentioned such as burping, etc. and have been able to recognize when I need to stop "eating" (which really means drinking at this phase). I believe you may have had too much to "eat". Even though we're only drinking liquids, I believe that if we can still overdo it if we drink our protein shakes too fast. From what I've read from others, I don't believe you can cause slippage from one round of heaving, even at this early stage. Don't panic and hang in there!
  6. I was banded on May 3, 2011.So far, so good, Going back to work tomorrow, I have all my protein powders and vitamins packed. Wish me luck!
