Sleeved in Tj fri 13th
kbotschon replied to Bajagirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had it really bad the first week until I read on here to take a couple of tums after you eat. It shut that monster right up. It also has helped my heartburn, am on zantac and prilosec for that. keep plugging away and ignore the beast. It will take time to get it back on track, I am 2 1/2 weeks out and am feeling way better than 4 days out. kim I can't tell The diference yet! -
HELP, I am 2 weeks post op, started on full liquids 4 days ago, creamed chicken soup, yogurt, runny cream of wheat, bites of mashed potato/gravy, popsicles, etc. NO SPICES, this coming from a Cajun born for everything spicy, am on zantac twice daily, started Prilosec yest, taking tums about 5 times daily, and gas x. Have this unbelievable burning/pressure in my esophagus, comes and goes and doesn't correlate with eating. any advice would be cherished. kim

Good luck tomorrow, get a good night's sleep. It will be a busy day. kim -
I did yesterday and they said it would go away with time. It is better today only because as soon as I quit eating I pop a couple of Tums.

How much time off work??
kbotschon replied to Ricky's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
From one RN to another, I work a very busy total pt care ICU. I took off 2 weeks, my first real heavy day was yesterday and boy was I whipped, but I also work 12 hr shifts and I think doing 8's in your area, you will be great after 2 weeks. I still get a pulling in my left uppper quadrant if I do too much bending over, but overall, am really back to normal. The stitches came out post op day 10 and wow, did that feel much better. I used hibiclens until the sites healed up just cause we are around so many bugs. good luck, kim Hey everyone, I am scheduled for a band to VSG revision on May 30th w/Dr Aceves. I am an RN in a really busy daysurgery unit at my local hospital. It is really a hardship for them to let me off to have this surgery and (I know everyone is different) about how much time should take?? I work 3 - 8hr shifts a week and they are busy. No real heavy lifting...just running around, starting IVS and passing pain/antinausea meds. I have told them I needed 3 wks off, but am hoping to be back in 2...is this realistic?? I just feel bad for leaving them a little shorthanded. Thanks for any advice....also, if any other band to sleevers want to tell me how much more they love their sleeve, I always love to hear it. -
will have mine done april 29th, with Dr Almanza. Tickets are bought and ready to go.
