  1. I use to have a lap band and had to have it removed because it slipped. My doctor revised it to a sleeve. But the sleeve just hasn’t been nearly affective and I so desperately want my band back!! But I’m finding that no doctors will do a band over sleeve in Houston. Has anyone had a band over your sleeve? I want my band back!! 😩
  2. I use to have a lap band(placed in 2011) . I was 220lbs and got down to 123lbs. I loved my band! I got sick and was vommitting for hours and it ended up slipping. I had a revision done and the band removed and the sleeve surgery done in November 2017. But I can’t lose weight! I’m now 176lbs! And so depressed! I want my band back! But I can’t find any surgeons in the Houston area who do a band over a sleeve. I’m even willing to pay out of pocket! Has anyone had a band placed over their sleeve? Does anyone have any tips or advice? I feel like my appetite is so big again and my sleeve surgery just hasn’t done what my band did for me.

Considering getting a gastric sleeve after lapband

I too had the lapband for 6 years and was very successful!(123lbs) after having my 1st baby, It slipped and when I had it removed, my surgeon did the sleeve surgery at the same time. I also wanted a second baby and was told to try to wait 6 months. Later, I was told by my Doctor to wait two months since I really wasn’t very big(176lbs.) I think they suggest waiting for weight loss purposes, not for health purposes. But I’m not really sure. I’m 3 month post op(168lbs) and I’m just letting whatever happens happen at this point in terms of pregnancy. The weight is coming off way slower now than it did when I had the band! 😩 I really miss my band!

    How to stay motivated

If you have a trainer than that's a great start!! If you think you're eating too much, be sure to get a fill. Being in the greenzone was and is still key to my success and many others I know. You're doing great! Keep up the good work! It will pay off...slowly but surely!
  6. My band is so much more than a tool! It's a life changer!

    Flight Attendants in the group?!

I am a flight attendant and sometimes when I'm flying it does seem to tighten up but it's not terrible. I just have to be very mindful of it and eat very slow! But I can still eat and you should be able to too. Just go easy and eat slow!

how do you know when you're full?

That cramping is air/gas and it is hitting a nerve. I get the same thing in my side and sometimes my left shoulder...and I've had my band for almost two years now. I get it when I'm both very hungry and need to eat and when I'm full and need to stop eating. You may need a fill if you're having a hard time determining if you're full. It's very rare that I over eat, but if I do, I will end up having to throw up.

Do you count calories or just watch what you eat?

Neither. I don't diet, count or keep track of anything. I have such great restriction that it doesn't matter what I eat because I can only eat about 4 bites and then I'm done. And food doesn't have the appeal it use to, so it's easy for me to resist if I need to. You should get a fill if you're still struggling
  10. I feel the same way you do! People ask me how I lost so much and I tell them "eating smaller portions." Even my dad and brothers don't know I have the band! It's as if it's a shameful secret. I don't want people to judge me...especially if they haven't had a weight struggle. I do tell people if I think it will benefit them. But if it won't benefit them, then there's really no need for them to know.

    I need a Swift Kick

Go get your fill girl!! Even if it cost money out of pocket!! It's worth it!! Keep your band tight enough that you have a good restriction

Are you always conscious of your band?

I've had my band almost 2 years. I can't feel it inside my body or anything but a lot has changed because I have it. Chewing gum feels so weired to me...air gets all caught in my pouch or something and sometimes it makes me need to throw up...it's the craziest thing! Also I get hiccups a LOT!! After I eat, drink, chew gum, even just randomly throughout the day. But I wouldn't change it!! I look and feel sexy as hell lol
  13. I'm one pound away from being in the 130's!!! whoohoo!!!

  14. I am 145lbs and looking better than ever! All the male attention is starting to go to my head! lol j/k! I'm still not ready to wear a bikini though. I look damn good in my clothes, but not so great out of them...my plan is to get a tummy tuck before summer of 2014.
