Why can't the surgery be the way God is helping you? Perhaps it was through him that the medical community discovered that this procedure helps so many people who are overweight. Perhaps it was through him that this opportunity was able to be presented to you as an option. I have always believed that he provides us options to learn about new things and part of that is through challenges for us. If we make a mistake, then usually another option to correct that mistake will "mysteriously appear". Why can't that be God helping?

Way to go both of you! I can't wait until I get to do my closet cleaning!

Thanks. Yeah, I figure my tastes will change too. But it'll give me an idea at least of what they taste like. Besides, it's a good habit to get into - trying to get more protein in so I'm not so likely to eat junk food (the real habit I'm trying to break).

Glad you are feeling better! From all of the reading that I have done, sleeved people can get dumping. It's just not as common. Sorry that it happened to you.

That's great news! Sounds like you are doing really well. Congratulations! Dumb question - but what's scar therapy?

When I have the second and third (even fourth and fifth) thoughts about doing the surgery after I had made my decision, I go back to the reasons why I chose to have the surgery in the first place. 1) The diets don't work long term for me. I want something that will give me long term weight loss because I don't want to be this heavy anymore. 2) I want my health to improve and that won't happen without significant weight loss that is long term. 3) I know me. If I try the other diets, I don't end up changing my habits to promote good health for the long term. This surgery will force me to change those habits. That's just some of the reasons of course. But you get the idea. Doing this gets me past those second thoughts. Just think about why you chose to have the surgery in the first place. It may not be helpful to everyone, but that's what works for me.

Because I have the occasional acid reflux and the doctor just wants to make sure that everything is healthy before the surgery.
