My husband and I read a wonderful book, I don't have it handy but I think it was called "love and respect". It is christian based, and I am not a reader, but my husband is, he read it first and I noticed a change in him, he was being more loving and supportive, so I decided I wanted to read the book and it talked about how women need to feel love and men need to feel respected. It was hard for me to swallow at first, but the more I read the more sense it made. I started doing little things like dishing up his dinner plate (something I know he views as a sign of respect) and he would rub my back (I love physical affection). Now, when we have a disagreement, I think we both are more aware of what we say and how we act towards each other. Usually when we get mad, it is either because he is being unloving or I am being disrespectful. I know it isn't for everyone, but I really enjoyed the book and it made our marriage even stronger. Maybe it could help you too.

Plastic Surgery Poll
Mom2Sassy replied to sleepyjean's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I already did the breast (enhanced and lifted) never new they weren't suppose to point at the floor until after I had the work done and went back to see the before photo's, I honestly didn't believe it was me.....!!! I would like to say I won't have anything else done and just be happier with a lighter/healthier me, but if I've got a great "rack" and slim body, I don't want a sagging stomach to ruin it for me :faint: -
Confirmed my date with Dr. Ortiz is 2/22...YIPPEE!:clap2:

Home equity line of credit is a great idea. If you can't get approved with the person who is helping you now, check with a mortgage broker. A second opinion never hurts. We were only in our house 6 months when we took out a line of equity. Maybe it is different from state to state, I don't know. But if you can do it with a home equity atleast the interest is deductible. I am lucky that we have a CC that sends us these checks every couple of months that we can use however we want and they have 3.9% interest for the life of the balance. I think it is Chase Credit Card that we have. That is what we are going to use. I was reluctant to spend all this money on myself, but my husband said that having me around longer and healthier and feeling better about myself is worth it. It took me a year convincing him this was the way to go, and it was safe......then he was on board and I wasn't sure, I guess like I was feeling selfish but he encouraged me to invest this in myself. Plus I think we will save money on me not trying every diet that comes around, I just spend $500 about 6 months ago on Jenny Craig, plus we spend alot eating out and now we can just split meals.....

Here's an idea.......if you can get a loan at the high interest rate on your own, do that and pay for the surgery. Then get a new card (joint with your hubby) and transfer the balance of the high interest one to the new one.....does that make sense? Many times CC companies will even have a lower interest rate for balance transfers and you could come out with an even lower interest rate than you thought you were going to initially. Don't give up, I know you must just be crushed right now, but I am sure there is a way for you to make this happen.

I am calling Dr. Ortiz today to schedule for Feb. 21. I have been looking into this since October 2005. My insurance won't cover it, so we are headed to Mexico. I am very excited. My husband is VERY supportive. We are actually going to make a vacation out of it and meet his parents in San Diego and visit Sea World, they will watch our daughter for the 3 days I will be in Mexico. I am planning on returning to work the following Monday. I'll let you all know tonight if I get the date I am shooting for. :clap2:
