same for me...ahhhh... I thought I was the only one. 8 pounds to wonderland for me. Fit into a size 14 pants today (a little tight...but they buttoned!!! woot woot! Hopefully we all continue to lose. I know I am at full restriction now...so no more fills for me, unless I lose a lot more and the band loosens up. Good luck to all!! -

INPUT FROM EVERYONE NEEDED

So I am not an expert, but it sounds to me like you need another fill. If you are still struggling like this and can eat a full meal you probably dont have enough "restriction". I know this means different things to different people, but you should only be able to eat about 1/2 to 1 cup of food at a meal. If you were at restriction, but loss some more weight, you might need more fills to get restriction again. Also, perhaps you should be counting calories strictly (at least for a while) to see how many calories you are really consuming (including condiments/dressings/snacks etc.). My goal is 1000 calories or few (and once a week I have about 1500), 80 grams of protein and 80 ounces of water (or more). If you are working out you can have more protein (80-100 grams). Also be sure to drink 60-100 ounces of water a day. I was banded on 1/17/11 (4 months ago) and I am at 8cc's in an 11cc realize band. I have lost about 55 pounds - I still have about 50 or 55 to go, but I am finally feeling some "restriction" - before my last fill I was just dieting (and it was super hard), now I take a few bites and then I feel full. I may need a little more in my band as I do get hungry after 2-3 hours instead of 4-5 hours, but before the last fill I was afraid I was going to be stuck on a restrictive diet for the rest of my life... now I know the band can help me to eat less and make better choices (my band doesnt like dense food, bread etc.). Try to watch your calories, protein and water intake for a few days and talk to your doctor (or another WLS doctor, if yours doesnt want to give you a fill) about getting more restriction. You CAN do it and the band DOES work... you just have to find your zone. Keep up your diet and the rules, until you find your zone... Good luck to you! -
I screwed up! Had solid foods 7 days post op!!!

I wouldnt worry too much...you are probably ok - especially if you didnt eat a ton. Just get back on the horse and do the best you can. It will be a long journey but it is worth it. You can do it! -
Great job - i too have gone off of some of my meds, and the rest have been dramatically reduced. You have lost almost 70 pounds - that is like losing an 8 year old, that is a ton of weight to lose. Great job! Keep up the good work and congratulations!!

Really struggling with this post-op diet!

I felt EXACTLY the same as you -- so here is some bad news, this is "bandsters hell" and you will be in it (in some form) until you find restriction. A lot of the stuff you will go through in the first month is getting over the mental "hunger" - saying goodbye to a friend (food) and starting a new way of life (80 ounces of water a day, everyday. 60-80 ounces or protein a day, everday and counting EVERY caloried that goes into your mouth). I am 4 months post op. I have 8 cc's in an 11cc band and I dont think I have found good restriction yet - it is still a battle. I am on liquids today after a fill yesterday, so I am hoping when I start eating solids again I will see a change. The myth of WLS is that it is magic - it is still SO hard sometimes... but if you stick with it you will lose weight. Try to walk (or work out if you are allowed) as often as possible -- you will get there. For some, restriction is found the day they get the band, for others it may take upto a year (or so I have heard, lets pray that is not true for us). Good luck to you! You CAN do it... -
3rd fill - Big Difference
Losing_It_All replied to mattie7632's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have 8cc's in an 11 cc band (and I have only had 2 fills, 5cc's in my first fill and 3 in my second - my doctor is agressive at wanting to help find restriction). I just had my second fill yesterday -- I cant tell yet if I have any restriction, but I had zero restriction with 5cc's -- I guess it just goes to show that everyone is different. I hope we have all found restriction and can be successful on our journey... -
water, water, water
Losing_It_All replied to mauraclegg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Water and Protein are key for me. I try for about 80 ounces of water and 80 grams of protein per day. Also, I would try to eat more calories for one day (good calories/protein/veggies etc. - maybe 1200-1500) because you may need to "shock" your system - if you are really eating 600 calories a day, then your body is probably holding on to fat (why your not losing)... Just a thought... Keep up your diet and exercise and try to add the water/protein see what happens.
