I would love to mentor you...,.it would be a win-win because I need to be motivated again especially since Pete loves me on the heavy-side....

I live on Long Island and July 7 will make one year since I have had the surgery. Weight loss has been slow (but that is my own decision) yet I am so very happy with my progress. I have to say I feel like a new woman. Here is some funny irony: I met someone who LIKES "thick" women....hahaha So he loved me the way I am--where the hell was he when I felt like a whale? But none of that matters because I am going to continue to lose weight and feel good about myself. He loves me either way.

Stupid Question: How Do I Know If I Need Another Fill
Jenine replied to S2b's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi! NO question is stupid --I'm sure you've heard that before. Anyone who gives you a hard time about any question is showing their insecurity---AND their stupidity. So in reply to your idiotic question....JUST KIDDING....anyway you'll know if you need a fill by how you feel after eating. If you feel really full after a small amount, then do not get a fill. It's all an individual experience. Trust your instincts. Don't over do it either (by constantly getting fills) thinking erroneously that you'll lose weight faster. Nope. Absolutely not. You'll just set yourself up for gagging more and not being able to eat a damn thing unless it's MUSH! haha Hope this helped. And I'm sorry about my horrible sense of humor. xoxo -
I had my surgery 7/7---was 234 the week before. Today is September 12, 2011 and to date I am down to 212. I WAS 208, but for some reason after my first fill in late August, I stopped losing weight and now I have gained back some. I am beyond upset. I don't feel any difference...never feel full and it feels like since I did get the fill, I've gone backwards in my progress. I want to cry. I didn't go through all of this to gain weight back! It took me a year to get accepted through insurance and I had a hard time after surgery with nausea. Please tell me what I am doing wrong. I do the protein shake in the morning and I was having yogurt and maybe chicken at night. The doc who gave me the fill said not to have so much liquids. Plus,( and the only reason why I bring this up is because it might be a factor) I have not had a menstrual cycle SINCE my surgery. Now I am 49, but still....could this be why? I really hope there is someone out there who has an answer for me...plus I need to find lap band support groups out in Suffolk. I live in Bayport. Thank you to ANYONE who can help....
