Just had a conversation yesterday with my cosmetology student daughter about the higer amount of biotine in bariatic advantage multi vitamin. She informed me that biotine promotes hair growth.

Consider yourself lucky if you even get a room. Last month when I had my surgery the hospital was so full two of us never left the post op recovery room. Not very comfortable and the recovery staff will do nothing for you. You have hospital room staff as your support and they didn't seem to want to come down stairs to look in on us. Just my experience. The Dr. and operating staff were excellent.

I felt just like this but it does get better every day.

Day 6 post op still lots of diarrhea, is this normal?
t-salt replied to warrior68's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Re-evaluate your diet. I to have had bad diarrhea and eliminated sugar free pudding and jello and it slowed down quit a bit. I also had problem with milk but I love milk so much that I still try to have some to maybe get used to it again. I talked to my NUT yesterday and she informed me that sugar alcohols in sugar free products will cause diarrhea (as posted earlier in this thread) -
Is pepto or Imodium allowed after being sleeved?
t-salt replied to warrior68's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
According to my bariactric surgery patient binder Imodium is ok. I've been taking them almost daily -
How long was the process through Kaiser?
t-salt replied to optasia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is exactly how it went down for me. It's all about goal weight. I hit it late January and was sleeved two weeks ago. My experience with Kaiser is to always take he first possible appointment they offer for all of your pre-op stuff. I too live in the Sacramento area and driving to Richmond sucks big time. Just being in Richmond sucks. On the morning of my surgery the Dr. told me they are looking into having a program in the Sacramento area do to all of the patients they get from the valley and foothills (doesn't do us any good now). -
Thanks for the in-put. After reading the last three post, I'm heading to Starbucks . Just kidding, I think I'll try to give it another week.

Tomorrow will be two weeks since surgery. Normal ups and downs but getting better every day. I am really dying for a cup of coffee. I drank it right up to the day before surgery and never had withdraws that bad but decaf tea and coffee is not cutting it. I can't for the life of me remember why we're not supposed to have it. How long after surgery did anybody start having caffeine.

I am on day 7 and having alot of the same feelings and post op symptons (I wish the constipation would come back ). I have noticed that each day is a little better. Hang in there.

Well here I am on day two still trying to get the gas out. Not doing to bad as long as I take pain meds regularly. Not getting enough fluids but slowly getting that up to where I should be in the next couple of days.Yesterday after I got home I got a severe case of hic-ups. Has anyone else experienced this. The Dr. did fix a hiatal hernia when he was in there.

Oh No... Not the "What if''s"!!!!
t-salt replied to Can'tweight's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery is tomarrow. My Surgeon just called as I was reading this and assured me that if you didn't have these questions and anxiety, your not normal. All I know is I'm getting nervous as hell. The surgery doesn't scare me it's the after surgery what if's. -
What are you most looking forward too after surgery?
t-salt replied to Beadingnurse's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My wife and I cruise at least once a year. Every time we try to plan excursions, all the things we want to do have weight limits ( scuba, horse back riding, zip lines, kyacks, water craft) It would be nice to plan a trip without weight restrictions. -
Do you have sleep apnea? Sometimes this can be caused from being over weight and considered a related problem. I don't want to get political but Michael Moore is an idiot and a spin doctor.

t-salt replied to doggz109's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Most wives think their husbands are big babies (mine does). Just tell her you want her there to hold you hand....she'll go -
As of today I am one week from surgery. This has been 8 months of soul searching. I started the process in August but wasn't sure if it was for me but after many years of the weight that keeps creeping up, I decided to move forward and started to get seious after New Years. I managed to loose 30 lbs for my pre surgery weight goal. I found this website last week and many of you have answered many questions I have had and also see that my hopes and fears are not unique to this process. Glad I found this site, Thanks.
