After 4 years I finally have a date. September 21st. Now that I have the date I am more scared than I am excited.
-
wow cindy, 8 more days for you.
-
glad to hear you are feeling better sweet. Please keep me posted Donna, I am paying for the band itself $4500.00 Nova Scotia health care is paying for the procedure. Put it this way if I knew than what I know now I would have gone to Ontario and paid to have the surgery.

i can't wait to see how you get along Cindy. Sweet, how are you feeling now?

Hi cindy, apprehensive yes, very scared now that the date is set. Today I am actually sick to my stomach thinking about it. My doctor wants me to loose 15 lbs befor surgery and I have lost 11 so far. Just following a diabetic diet and almost no bread at all to do it.It is very hard but I have to do it, as you know it is mandatory to loose befor surgery. Thanks for the replies

Moncton New Brunswick, and the wait is because I was going to have gastric bypass and changed my mind to lap band and was on a list origoinally for a doctor in Nova Scotia who retired and I was not imformed and had to find a new doctor. But here I am finally going to have it done. Second guessing myself constantly and very scared.

Well folks, I have an appointment in Moncton on July 23rd, to meet with my doctor and sign the papers to have Lap Band surgery. I will be done in October, November at the latest. my doctor does not do a pre-op diet a few weeks befor the surgery, he wants it several pounds off now and I am struggling like crazy trying to get 10 lbs off befor the 23rd. I am getting very nervous now that I know in the fall I will be done. At first I was excited and scared, now I am scared and wondering if I am doing the right thing. I cannot do it on my own, tried and failed so many times. I need the surgery to do it. Any advise? So many mixed feeling here. Sherrylynn

Is it normal to have second thoughts befor surgery? I am second guessing myself , I think because of fear and the fact that if I have a serious problem post-op my Dr. is 5 hours away. Anyone experience these feelings? i am determined still to go through with it just feeling very nervous.

Thanks mandi, rules are rules, I was hoping to have my family doctor here do my pre-op tests but Dr. B wants them all done in the moncton hospital. Oh well. Dems da breaks. Sorry to hear about you recent difficulties, everything ok now? Sherry
-
mandi, you said Ns fill lady, is there someone in NS who does fills and defills? Thanks Sherry
-
i am awaiting surgery, I am trying to talk to as many people as possible, one lady i spoke to claims her band slipped, and her Dr. was suppose to put it back in place but instead unclipped it and left it inside her. Does this make any sense to you? A lot of what she has told me sounds kinda wacky. Thankyou

Hoping to make contact with patients of Dr. Beausoliel
sherrylynn posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Is there anyone out there who is a patient of Dr.Beausoliel's in Moncton New Brunswick? -
Hello everyone, on Tuesday I went to Moncton to meet with Dr. Beausoleil's team for an information day along with 4 other patients who are awaiting surgery. The day was filled with 8 hours of very good info. I was however unnerved to hear that Dr. B lost a 3rd patient in November, she was 38 yearold mother of 4, I believe the nurse said it was due to an embolism. I am still determined to have the surgery(banding). What I am wondering is how did all of you who had the surgery get past the worry of the what if's? I'm trying very hard not to obsess about the very low risk of death, but it is really hard not to. Thankyou for reading and listening. Sherrylynn
