    Vitamins!

My doctor isn't picky about Vitamins with his band patients. He just tells us to get a good multi and calcium chew. He wants his bypass patients on Bariatric Advantage though. He prefers the Bariatric Advantage shakes and pushes them hard but not as picky about the vitamins. Go figure. No wonder they tasted good!

    Vitamins!

I REALLY like my Vitamins. In fact I look forward to them like a treat they are DELICIOUS! I take Vita fusion PreNatal Vitamins from walmart. They are gummy and so yummy I give them to my teen daughter every morning as well. I take prenatals because I need the extra folate and I like what they do for skin, nails, and hair... and having finished up chemo in January, I need all the hair help I can get! lol As for Calcium I take an off brand Viactiv from Kroger and those things are DELICIOUS as well. They taste like chocolate frosting. YUMMY!!!
  4. Diet strawberry Limeades... are carbonated. ...owe. lol!

    Just a little FYI...

Same thing happened to me this afternoon. I thought... Limeade = Koolade. Koolade is not carbonated so it should be ok. (I love those things btw) so I took a big ole swig and swallowed, then I realized it was carbonated. UGH... I felt it immediately and for the rest of the afternoon. Oh well... at least I know now why carbonation is a no-no! lol

    Problem?

IDK... I'd call your surgeon. Luckily I haven't had any issues but I am still on liquids for another week. I know if it was me... I'd call my doc.

4 weeks post lap band op, and......

Me too! I'm ballin' like a baby here. What a wonderful WONDERFUL gift! Congrats to you and your husband, Kimiky... enjoy every special moment of that life growing inside of you. God is Good!
  8. When I went from excitement to worry just before surgery... I would go on Obesityhelp.com's homepage and just click through pages and pages of before and after pics. I mean sometimes I'd go through 5 or 10 sets of them... thinking... "I'm gonna be one of those Afters!" That always helped me get my head back into it. it reminded me there is in fact a prize at the end of this waiting for me. And it helped me. A lot. Best of luck to you... the day or 2 before surgery are crammed with nerves. Concentrate on the positives and you'll be alright.

    insurance

You are gonna have to get different health insurance or pay for the surgery yourself if your current insurance policy doesn't cover it. That is pretty much your only 2 choices.
  11. I gotta say I am liking the sound of taking Protein shots. Where can I find "Liquid Protein" Justmermp? This would be a great way to sneak in some protein on days when I need a little extra.
  12. There is SO much of me in this post its not even funny but I won't hijack it to spill my own version. You are right, JinTx... you are right about all of that and its time that you, me, and every other woman who has gone for years with broken glasses so her kid could have a new pair of Miss Me jeans or the latest video game or that new tv on their rooms - stood up and said, "You know what? .... I AM worth it!" I need to do some things for ME! ...and it doesn't make me a bad person, or selfish... its just putting as much value in yourself- as you place in your loved ones. All those who truly LOVE us, want us to be happy and healthy... they want us to be here for them, to always have the BEST version of ourselves to depend on, love, and cherish. IDK about you... but its about time I gave it to them. Thank you for taking the time to place your thoughts here. You have helped me more than you will ever know. :huggie:

    So frustrated!

I would go back to Clear liquids for a day or 2. That is bound to jump start you again.
  14. My info is in my sig, but I was (supposedly) fast-tracked after seeing the GI doc. I needed to be banded before the end of the month in July due to scheduling conflicts.

    nervous

I had my surgery last Tuesday and I was super excited up until a couple of days before the surgery then my nerves kicked in. When that happened... I would go to the homepage of obesityhelp.com and flip through all the before and after pics. Sometimes I'd go through 5-10 sets of pictures just looking at all the weight people have lossed with WLS. THAT brought me back down to earth and set my head on right. I have wanted this for years. "I'm going to be one of those after pics" - I would think to myself and that always made me feel less anxious about the surgery. Now that I am on the other side of LBS... I'm SO glad all that waiting is over. I did it... and BOY is this side looking bright.

Do we seriously have to buy everything new!!!

There is not a stitch of apparel in my house that I wouldn't be willing to part with in order to buy garments in non plus sized clothing stores. That goes for pj's and undies and bras... Victoria's Secret, here I come!!! lol

MY FIRST FILL WAS A NIGHTMARE

There is a cream that he can prescribe you if you are that sensitive. You put a dab on the port site, (like the amount you would use on your toothbrush) then put a small piece of plastic wrap over it until you get to his office. He will wipe that off then clean the area and you won't feel the injection. I had a port for my chemotherapy treatments (but it was located in my chest just under my collar bone) and was prescribed some of this cream to desensitize the area before they accessed it. I only used it once, (right after the port was placed on my first treatment) but it does work. I am just not that sensitive to needle sticks and really didn't need it. You should ask him for some. If he saw you cry like that... surely he would prescribe some. BTW... I'm not sensitive to needles at all, but I'd rather get stuck all day long than get ONE shot of lidocane. That crap STINGS LIKE ALL GET OUT!
