Hi Shar, I felt that way, a little depressed like you a day or so ago. I think I was already mourning the foods that I can't have. And then I started remembering what everyone else has said who has come before us that we will be able to eat our favorite foods again, only in moderation. I also just wasn't feeling very good. I didn't notice when you were banded. Also once you start to see the scale moving in the right direction it will motivate you. Hope I helped a little, I am right there with you.

Hi Everyone, This is my day 5 and I can't believe how much better I feel. Almost no pain where my incisions are and I'm starting to feel like my old self again. I found a wonderful dessert in our area that is wonderful. I didn't get an Ok from the Dr. but it is called Dr. Oetker's Mousse Supreme Light. You make it with 1 cup of skim milk and it makes 5 servings. It has only 1 gr. of sugar and 4 gr. of carbs.and 1 gr. of protein and only 45 calories. I used to make this when I went to Weight Watchers. It is as light as air. You can find it where the powdered SF jello and pudding packages are. I had the milk chocolate and it was great and they also have it in Dark Chocolate Truffle and I think vanilla. Make sure you get the "light" though. Hope all our you guys that were banded are doing well and good luck to everyone on Monday.

Hi Everyone, I'm done and in bandland! This is how my day went, I went in at 11:30 a.m. on Monday May 14 (my anniversary I might add) Was taken in for surgery around 2:30p.m. My family said I came out around 6 o'clock because I was in recovery for a couple of hours. The surgery I think said took 1 1/2 hrs. and that everything went great! The first few days were not so bad, but when I got up for the first time I got the dry heeves and it was awful, I needed some anitnausea meds stat, which finally came and helped immensely! I guess at some point in the middle of the night they said my heart rate slowed down quite a bit and they were concerned as to why, but it never happened again and they are going to monitor it as an outpatient. The following day I was to go home I had to go down for the Barrium swallow but I had too much swelling for it to go down so the doc wanted me to stay one more day and try it again after the swelling went down. The next day it did and I was able to go home. Hooray! I feel a hundred times better today, except for the incredible sounds that are coming from my belly. No real pain and I didn't take any pain meds today. Having my jello, Unjury and ice chips so far but do not feel hungry. The worst part of this whole experience is finding out how terrible our health care system as gotten. I have NEVER been in the hospital for anything except having my two boys, but this was horrible. The nurses could have cared less about us. Don't get me wrong, we had a couple of nice ones but on the whole they were not caring or pleasant or anything......I am so glad to be home and starting my new life. Take care and good luck to all those that are going in soon or have just had it done.

I found the link and got to the spreadsheet, but how do you put your info in? I clicked and double clicked the box but it won't let me type in my info? By the way, great idea. I go in at 11:30 today for my surgery, I am sooooo excited and nervous!! Paulette

Hi Everyone, It is so nice to hear from the people who have just gone through surgery and hearing how well they are doing. I am just AMAZED that you guys are able to do this on an outpatient basis.....they are making me stay overnight. I wish I could come home the same day too. Is anyone having any issues with their husbands or significant others about being jealous or thinking that once you lose the weight that you are going to leave them?? I was to have surgery on Monday the 7th and it is postponed for next Monday the 14th and all of a sudden my husband is so mad at me he won't even talk to me!

Good luck tomorrow- JerseyDori and Mischievous1 Our thoughts and prayers will be with you. Crabcake so glad you are doing well. I can't wait to hear how your experience was.

Hi Everyone, Hey NVgirl- Congratulations! I am so happy it is over for you and I can't believe they sent you home already. You sound like you are doing well. Please continue to update us as to how you feel if you are up to it. Well, for my update the Dr. did call me this afternoon and I am rescheduled for next Monday, the 14th. Unfortunately, that is my Anniversary but I guess what better way to Celebrate it than to start a new healthy life. I do have to do a bowel prep again which sucks but whatever it takes. At least he only makes me fast for the day before sugery after I take the Fleet Phoso soda. My husband is so scared about this whole process for me, I am trying to reassure him that everything will be fine. I want to wish our May bandsters set to go tomorrow good luck and know that many prayers are going out for you. Good luck healthny, crabcake, NaeNae, lubterp, Shar, and Roxie1951 I wish you all the best. Let us know how you do? P.S. Could someone put me back on the May calendar for May 14th? Thanks.

I will definitely let you guys know, and what really made me mad is the Doc says I was trying to call you all morning was someone on the computer. He tells me what number he tryed calling and the number was to my Primary Care Physician and it was his fax # on top of it!!! I have only been to his office and that hospital a billion times in the last month or so and they don't have my telephone number?? So now I sit and wait.......ugghhh!

Hi Everyone, You are never going to believe this!! I went in for my surgery today. Was in surgical gown, family all present getting set to go into the operating room at 12:00 and doesn't the surgeon come in and say that my surgery had to be canceled!!! He said that the hospital did not have anyone on staff to administer the fluid they inject into someone to do a CatScan in the event that a person has a blood clot. He said if I was a Gastric Bypass patient there is no way you could have it done and because I was getting the band he possibly could've done it with loading me up on blood thinners, but there was still a chance of risk involved. Needless to say I am beside myself with disappointment, he can't even tell me when it can be rescheduled yet. He said he may even do me at another hospital in the area if they don't get this matter resolved at this hospital. I just cannot believe this.....I was so prepared and now I have to go through drinking that gross stuff again to "clean" myself out and fast all day. And I had work all arranged with coverage. I am just so bummed. Oh well, I just wanted to update you guys. I'll let you know when I hear more. Paulette

Hi Susansilver, I am having my surgery tomorrow at 12:00, thank you for the encouraging words. I am really getting the jitters now and watching my older sons face with the look of worry isn't helping matters. And this is the night before. Just the thought of kissing them good-bye in the morning and not knowing what is going to happen is so scary. I guess you just have to have faith in God. And I know the reason for doing this in the first place is to be able to live a long healthy, life and see them grow up. I just need to ramble on I guess. Thanks for listening.
