Bump! Hows it going so far with weightloss? Did things speed up? I had my mirena inserted when I was 1 year post op. In less then 6 months I have gained 10-12 lbs Have done pretty much everything to lose it. Plus I've been a little emotional roller coaster. Oh yeah, my face and hair is always oily. I've had the clearest skin my entire life and now I have acne. I have an appointment to have it removed this Saturday so I have my fingers crossed I loose those 12 lbs.

What Should I Be Eating 1 Year Post Op?
natashad replied to Britty0529's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That sounds like perfection to me! I'm 9 months out and feel like I eat waaaay more. I fell off a couple times here and there. But for the most part I'm feeling in control. On a good day i eat Premier Protein shake with half of a banana and a scoop of PB2 lunch is usually a protein (kofta, Shish or chicken kebab) with a small salad. Snack on a Quest bar or cheese dinner is the same ( I work at my parents middle eastern restaurant) Snack a light and fit Greek yogurt or other high protein snack. Being a server I'm pretty active if we are busy. But I'm really trying to buckle down and get to goal. 15 more lbs. some days I hit the gym before work and do cardio. I will start toning really soon. HW 274 SW 244 CW 170 GW 155 Surgery date 2/22/13 Everyday will always be a struggle for me. But I'm only human and I make mistakes. But if I'm accountable I can always pick up the pieces. Logging my food is my go to always. -
Hello! Not too sure if this has been asked yet. My insurance covers 80% of the surgery. My max out of pocket it $3,500.00 My question is, if the 20% is higher that $3,500, do I have to pay all? Next question is, has anyone financed that 20%? How was it? Thanks so much for all your input.

Opinions? X-box, Kinect, Wii ????? I'm illiterate on this ..
natashad replied to slm2007's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have played both. The Kinect is so awesome that we returned our wii. The kinect makes sure that your doing your moves properly. I play the biggest loser and it really kicks my booty. It also has so many other features. I also play dance central. Thats really lots of fun. -
So Lucky! Good for you. Keep us all posted.

Can someone please help? I need some support, from so many successors!
natashad replied to AlexandraV's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Don't know how much I can help. I haven't been banded yet, and want to be SO badly. Maybe you can try to think back to before you were banded. All he struggles you faced , and all you issues. Don't forget why you got banded. You can do it it. Everyone here is living proof that it can be done. Hang in there. -
Those of you with the lap band and young kids, how do you manage it all. I have a 7 month old and an almost 5 year old. I feel that when I have my surgery, and I need to paln meals, it will be hard. Plus fit in and exercise routine? Any tip or tricks out there to help manage your time? Thanks

About two weeks ago my ins. (health net) gave me a list of contracted surgeons. So I research the closest one to my house and narrowed it down to one. dr. Krahn I went to his seminar and gave them all of my information. I was very pleased with his rates of success and was feeling blessed that I got to choose a good dr like him. Yesterday, his office called me and said he is NOT contracted with my medical group. I'm ***. I called health net and he is contracted with heath net, just no with my group. Ok? So how do I figure out who will be my surgeon? Health net lady said you might get him because we have a couple o centers of excellence. I researched my med groups contracted surgeons and there is 2. If I have to pick one of them I'm not even doing it. They both seem inexperienced. One was in KY and just up and left and came here. He is still listed as a dr in KY. The other dr name doesn't come up when I search him. I called my med group and no one answered (3 pm). Weird. I'm calling health net again tomorrow in the morning. I need some answers. Does anyone know what the process is? Thanks.

Officially in Lap Band Mode
natashad replied to AppleBand's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats and good luck. Keep us posted -
I was wondering what you guys think about less cardio and more focus on muscle. I am so afraid of access skin, that I want to just focus on muscle with yoga and resistance bands. My husband says, I will already loose weight with the band so no need for intense cardio. Just a thought. Thanks everyone.
