If you want a REAL taste of Texas, here's my idea....just to throw it out there: One of my favorite spots in Texas is the little historic town of Gruene. The Guadalupe River (our favorite toobin' river) runs right thru it and there's lots of outfitters ready to rent you a toob and an ice chest to float down the river. By far one of my favorite pass-times....takes about a half-day. The weather will definitely be warm enough to do this....and it's a BLAST. There's oodles of cute shops in the restored little town where you can easily spend a whole day just moseying around. That weekend is also the Gruene Market Days....where Texas artisans gather to show off and sell their handicrafts. Gruene is also home to the the "Oldest Dance Hall in Texas" and i guarantee you that every country singer worth his salt has played there at one time or another. Willie and Jerry Jeff have played there tons. It's all open air with lots of cold beer, cute cowboys in tight jeans, and fun as hell. This offeres a good overview of the town: Historic Gruene Texas This is one of the very cool, very Texas-like guest houses: http://www.gruenehomesteadinn.com/farmhouse.htm A group of 10 could get this for about $200/3 nights. You fly into either Austin or San Antonio and drive about an hour. Very easy to get to. We could even do one night (Sunday?) in San Antonio to get a taste of that special place, too.

Texas is in the smack dab middle of the country!! LOL I love Palm Springs and I love the 4 corners!!! How 'bout Colorado?? OY!!!!!

Tracy - what flavor do you buy in the OhYeah bars? Do you buy them at the store or order them online? A quick search shows I can get 9 bars for $11.99 at Netrition.com - The Internet's Premier Nutrition Superstore!. I've done business with them for a long time.

Pamela -- What does your doctor say?? I assume you've been cleared of any problems, eh? I'm sorry you feel so crappy :smile: I was very lucky with my 'female issues' all my life and am so grateful for that. The few doozies that i did have made me VERY sympathetic to those that had ongoing problems. It would have driven me insane. (((hugs))) OH! TracyK - I'll be happy to go shopping with you! I'm sure we'll find a weekend between now and then. There are some great suits out there now that can really keep you all tucked in....like a big ol' SPANX! lol They're usually on the expensive end (like $65-100) but they do the job!! Dillard's always has many to choose from...that's where I usually end up buying a suit. I'll bet Penney's has 'em too.

Oh yeah, Michelle -- I meant to mention your chocolate tips too....I'm a horrible chocoholic! I really like the oreo 100 calorie packs and sugar free fudgsicles...those are my fave for curing my cravings. Well, no, actually a fudgy brownie smothered in ice cream and syrup is my favorite, but in a pinch the Oreos will do. :welldoneclap: Pam- sounds like a wonderful day!! Nothing like mine!! (BORING!) Laura, nobody is going to feel obligated to the point that they're going to plunk down money against their will! LOL This is where the majority decided they wanted to go. Now it is up to the others to either join or not. Simple. Otherwise we'll go round and round and round until we end up not going anywhere! Besides, we all said from the beginning that we didn't care where as long as we get together. That still holds true for most of us....if others decide that's maybe not so true anymore, then that is OK too! There's about 100 factors at play in this decision, not to mention 1,000 different destinations we chould have chosen....so the way I see it, it's 6 of one and half dozen of the other! Tunica is great! We'll have a wonderful time there!! The weather should be nice too.... maybe we'll even be ready for some swimsuit action! Well, Judy already is!!

Wow...a person is gone for 24 hours and they're likely to miss something! I'm just excited to be with you guys...I really don't care where. Judy, I'm sorry you didn't get your first choice....but I do believe you'll have a great time, don't you? I am REALLY sorry that you won't make it Jen :smile: that is sooooo disappointing. Michelle - I can't thank you enough for all you've done thru this process. I know it's enough to pull your hair out...but don't! Have several tequila shots and you'll be good to go again! It's just NEVER easy in any way to try to plan a trip like this. Someone always gets hurt or left out and tempers flare ...it's just the nature of the game. In a day or two we'll all be over that and the excitement will settle in again. You did a great job. We all appreciate it!!! Laura - thank YOU for arranging all these cool accommodations! This will be a blast having the option of a suite to hang out it. We've done that for 2 weddings and it works out great!! For the record, I don't have any issues with sharing my room with anyone...except that I am known to snore! So prolly best if I sleep in my own...but I'd be more than happy to share a suite!! How fun! Tunica....HERE WE COME!!!

Kat - What a day you had!!! UGH! I hate hate hate hospitals! You've had more than your share of 'em the last few years so you must feel right at home! :wink: You must be exhausted. Hope you're getting some rest now. When will he be discharged? Oh, my sympathies to you about his speech/talking!! My mom had similar issues once ... you learn to kind of tune them out, then they get mad 'cause you don't answer them!! You never know when they're saying something 'important' so you have to try to listen to everything, but that gets exhausting 'cause 90% of it is gibberish. My mom's doctor (who was a total QUACK) even said, "Why is she slurring so much? I can't understand her...It's driving me crazy!" This was her cardiologist (!!) who apparently is not familiar with the symptoms of a stroke! Anyway, glad that you're still in one piece. You're the best daughter a parent could ask for!
