Unusual question - not sure where it goes
TerriDoodle replied to Chaucer's Wench's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Your doctor sounds like he is being 'generous' in your case! My doctor wouldn't allow me to pick up anything heavier than 10# for 4 weeks. 2 weeks seems like the bare minimum to me. -
Getting an un-fill during vacation??
TerriDoodle replied to redrum602's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree with prepster and mss 100%+++ -
Pam, I think I know the mountain you are talking about. Our hotel in PS was right at the base of that mountain. We arrived in PS after dark and the next morning when we woke up there was a huge rock outside of our window!!! Is that the one? :smile2:

I was swamped again today, but I did check in to catch up on 2 days' worth of posts...and there was something I wanted to comment on but didn't have time earlier. <Rant ON> It was when some of you were talking about being self-conscious about "still being fat" and meeting up in Gruene. I got this earlier, too, when we were discussing in the other thread about what to wear on the river, etc. This makes me sad. I'm sure we all wish there was a world where weight didn't matter and all we had to rely on was our good character and personalities in order to be confident in ourselves. But if there was ever anything close to such a world...this Violet troop is IT!! Frankly it kinda hurts my feelings that any of you would be worried about your weight or sagging tummies, boobs, or bat wings with this group of friends?? We, who know what ALL of that is about and who long, each of us, to accepted for who we ARE inside?! It somehow diminishes my success if you are not feeling successful as well. I mean, hey! I'm feeling pretty good!....should I not be? Should I be worried about this crap until my dying day...and no matter who the company is??? You know what?! I'm almost 50 and have been battling this shit my whole life. If there was ever a time I wanted/need a respite from it all, it's while we're enjoying each other in Gruene!!!!! Who the hell cares if you or I weight 180 or 280??? I sure as hell don't!!! <Rant Off>

Kat, It will be OK!!!! Try not to worry. I know the system is f'd up big time, but you'll get her in where she belongs and she'll be fine! You're being a mom and worrying 'til your hair falls out....but she'll be OK! She's young! Get on the phone tomorrow and rip some ass! But don't worry...she'd not going to die, I promise!! <<<<<HUGS>>>>>> Those docs don't know who they're dealing with, do they!? $20 says you went thru this circus when Rick was so sick, too. It just takes a while to get into the proper groove.

Kat, why don't you go to a resale shop and get a couple of cheap tops? I love resale shops! I got a pair of Michael Kors jeans (normally about $90) for $15!!!! You got any in Aztec? Or hell, go splurge at Walmart and blow $30!! Silly girl!

The band is a TOOL that restricts the ability to eat large amounts of solid food in one sitting. It will not prevent you from having a gallon of ice cream, however. So there's still a lot of self=discipline involved, but small amounts of food will keep you satisfied longer. I just got back from a dinner out..I had a glass of wine and one 2" crab cake. Uh, in the old days I would have had a plate of lasagne, 3 pieces of bread, a salad and 2 glasses of wine. Make sense?

Hi Everyone! yesterday was hell...just as I knew it would be! 13 hours at my desk, then to see Mom and didn't get home 'til 9:00 pm! Oh yeah, and i only got about 4 hours of sleep the night before. Horrible, horrible day. Today I yelled at an officer of our company!! But he's a PITA DeLuxe every single time there's a board meeting...and today i had just had enough!!! Hope he goes back under his rock and stays there. Kat - sending prayers for Manda and hope you and Kinsey have a great day!! Well, that was short and sweet!.... gotta run again!.. Laterz.

**REGARDING MEETING UP AT THE AIRPORT** Houston Arrivals Each airline usually goes into the same terminal every time. There are exceptions. Cont'l now flies in/out of both Terminal B and Terminal C, so you don't know *for sure* until you check the flight status of your particular flight a day or two before. Cont'l has this information online at continetal.com, then click on flight status and enter your flight number. I checked your flights as if they were coming in today and found the following information, but this may or may not change for your particular flight, so it is important to check the day before you leave if you want to be sure. Laura - flies into Terminal B Michelle and Kat - fly into Terminal C So I would suggest that Laura get her baggage then take the tram over to Terminal C. Go to the baggage claim/passenger pickup area of Terminal C and wait for Michelle and Kat in that area. You will also be able to step outside for a smoke from this area as well. There are shops and such on the floor above baggage claim (where the tickets are sold) if you don't feel like waiting around down there (kinda dreary)...you will, after all, have a rather long wait. SAN ANTONIO ARRIVALS San Antonio is a much smaller airport but they do have 2 terminals. TracyM and Judy look as though they will fly into Terminal 1 Pam and Jane should fly into Terminal 2 I called the airport and they advised that you should meet in a walkway and passenger pickup that is between the two buildings and is a logical place to meet. Pam, you will have a 1.5 hour wait for Judy. Whatever time TracyK is there to pick you up is between ya'll.

Full?? The difference between preband/postband
TerriDoodle replied to 2BtinyinTN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is a definite difference in the feeling of "full" pre and post band. After you are banded, your stomach doesn't get full from "over"-eating, your esophogus does! You literally get full up to "here" <motions toward base of throat>! If you eat too fast or don't chew well you will get pain in the stoma area. It is literally impossible to eat until you are "full" in the pre-band sense. -
Jane - When you go to the Galleria you must visit the David Yurman store...it's my favorite! I love to go in there, try lots of stuff on then leave to "think about it"...LOL Love, love, love that store. Michelle - you are hilarious! There's a t-shirt shop in Gruene that I LOVE...they had the funniest shirts!! I still laugh at my favorite (stop reading now, Judy).... it said "Jesus is coming! Look busy!" LOL...still cracks me up. I bought it but only had the nerve to wear it once. This is the Bible Belt y'know! I don't need to be gettin' into a tangle with some good ol' boy over it! I can't wait to meet ALL of you!

Howdy Vi's! Gosh, I can't imagine how in the world one would nurse hummingbird eggs...and then babies!! Don't be mad at your doggie! IF he did it, he's just doing what God programmed him to do! To him that bird is no more significant than the flies that have been bothering his ears. Poor baby! We have a dove that's built a nest near our front door..she's so sweet! She never leaves her nest that I can tell! We've put seed and water out for her but she hasn't touched it. What a good mommy! LOL...we even keep our porch light turned off so that the light doesn't bother her widdle eyes. How silly is that? I don't know where the day went...didn't accomplish squat. Went to see mom for a couple of hours, went to the grocery store, ... did a little jewelry work...that's about it! Oh yeah, and I took a nap! I never do that! Tomorrow at work is going to be H-E-L-L Oh well, I am grateful to have a job and nice people to work with. Things could be much worse! I just really prefer to be slug-like. Nighty-night!

Judy, You're already packed?? Dang! That's cool! I'm not that organized!

Just real quick... the birdie is what I made yesterday (FUN!!) and the heart was my metalsmithing 'homework' from last weekend. Suzie - Sorry you're having a rough time. I can't imagine all you're going thru. There's a special place in Heaven for you...don't forget that! XOXO

Hi everyone, I'm going to close this thread since it's drifted sooooo far off topic...and the original topic wasn't so wonderful to begin with. I encourage you to start a new thread re: swimsuits if you like. Thanks!

The fastest route is to pay yourself.... it shouldn't be a problem finding a doctor to do it in your circumstances. Mine were much the same. If you're trying to use your insurance, then that's a whole other can o' worms. You'll have to talk to your provider AND your doctor and see if you can get them on the same page. I think current requirements are BMI of 35 if you have 1 or 2 co-morbitites.

Miracle suits are the only kind I buy!!! Try one on! They feel great.

One of the best things I ever did in this regard was to start up a Bunko group. I gathered some girls from the office that were fun and we met every 2 months to play. It's been 6 years now and we've all become so close! I have 10 'best friends' now! Usually Bunko groups start with women just like yourself.... sahm's that just need a girls night out every once in a while. Post a notice in your neighborhood newsletter or spread the word with the neighbors that you do know and see who might be interested. It's great fun and a wonderful way to make new friends ... especially if they're also your neighbors!!!
