Sorry, Haydee...but that commute would be a deal-buster for me! Is there any kind of park and ride thing you could do? Still.... that's 3 hours of your life every day that you can kiss goodbye. Ugh. Not to mention the cost of gas these days! Jeez, can't you work out of the Woodlands or something?? TracyinKS - are you talking about your own TT? I"m lost, as usual. souns to me like Charles wants you to have all the responsibility but none of the authority. Life doesn't work like that.... or, not very well! Didn't get my unfill yesterday... too much crapola going on...again!!

Can't you just download them then make your own CD? That way they'll all be on one....

Gonna break down and get an UNfill...
TerriDoodle replied to TerriDoodle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Jama - I always wait a full two weeks before deciding if a recent fill is too much. Mine just take that long....and keep getting tighter and tighter, then start to settle down again. In that meantime, i stick with liquids and mushies as much as possible. I have been 'on the fence' with this fill since February. Actually, I didn't go in for an unfill yesterday as scheduled because of other commitments and, wouldn't you know it, my band has settled down (again!), I'm eating solid food (properly!), and have lost a pound! Round and round we go..... -
Gawd, I hope you're not talking the Medical Center!! That would be a hellish commute!! Ok, give me a list.... pros and cons.... why aren't you jumping on that job??? Change is scary sometimes. But you gotta "go thru it to get to it"....y'know??

Hey Girls! Pamela -- you got 1.2 cc's on your last fill?? Shit! No wonder you were sick like a dog!! At this stage my doctor gives me 0.1-0.2cc at each adjustment!!! Teeny tiny adjustments can make a very big difference! Keep an eye on that doctor!! TracyK -- It's all good, girlfriend. In the words of my guru, MJ Ryan: Good stuff, eh? Tracy - Robby's getting around OK? Is this a new attitude for DH toward Cody? Uh, did Cody really think he'd be able to pull that one off....calling in sick for an all day detention? LOL Time to face the music, kid! My son has one more day of high school left. He is SO ready to be out of the "public education system' as he calls it! No rest for the weary, however, as he starts summer college classes on Monday! HA!

This girl is not exactly worried about YOUR family too much, is she!?! Jeez. I don't like her already.

Ah, Love is in the air!!! LOL Better you than me, sister. Hey, maybe if your parents smoke like chimneys the other parents will whine and forbid them to be married. I mean, what have they got to lose???!?! :confused2: Ta hell with that! Is it striped with lots of holes? That's mine.... I bequeath it to your dog or your car washing pile. I don't need it back. Dang! I HATE it that I can't see pics at work!!! Dammit! Which pic is it??

Just facial stuff here....
TerriDoodle replied to TerriDoodle's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I can relate to people telling you to cheer up all the time! I got that a lot too. Mine was mostly caused by the deep wrinkles between my brows and now only made worse by sagging eyelids caused by natural aging. I was amazed at how the botox de-wrinkled my whole brow, not just between them. And because my surgeon knew just where to place the needle I also got a little mini brow lift as well....meaning my eyelids have a higher arch to them now! My botox treatment cost $325 here in Houston, but I"m sure that varies widely.... also depends on how many areas you are treating. Is it worth $100/month? Only if you have it to spare!!! I wouldn't take it out of the family food budget! -

Thank you for the tips, Dr. Schulman!! I'll keep them in mind when I go for my touch-ups! -
Ok, going to deal with new car sh*t again today.... I'd rather have my hair set on fire than deal with car salesmen. They all think I'm an idiot because I'm a woman. Little do they know that I'm a SHARK, but they eventually figure it out.

I use Origins makeup...both foundation and powder, and the powder is a heavier, 'double-duty' powder. And yes, my bruises were almost black as well. Oh, and I used my concealer over the bruises as well...layered like this: makeup powder concealer powder -
Banded 5/22 and need support
TerriDoodle replied to redrobin's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
If you're still taking pain meds, that could be what's causing your nausea. What stage of your diet are you in? If you're on creamy Soups make sure you take your meds with your meals. Absolutely take Gas-X 4x a day (or whatever the max is) and walk, walk, walk. The gas will make you nauseous and feeling yucky, too. By day 5 you should be feeling much, much better. What you are going thru us what we ALL went thru. I promise you'll get past it and you'll come to love your band just like the rest of us veterans!! Just look FORWARD to all the positive changes you have in store!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE shopping in the regular size womens clothing now. That's my favorite thing!! -
OK, I'll just talk to myself here. You've all abandoned me. Now that you've met me, you have decided you hate me and have secretly moved to another message board. Hmmm? I'll hunt you down!! I just want to say that I cannot wait for my unfill tomorrow. I am PBing like Pamela these days .... In one of those PB loops that you can't get out of, y'know? I'm tempted to have them remove 0.3cc. Whatever level I was at in Jan., that's where I wanna go back to. Just venting here while I am STUCK on oatmeal.........

Eating too much before first fill
TerriDoodle replied to essieburton's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cristi -- I hear your frustration! I had enchiladas Friday night and Fetucinni Alfredo Saturday night!! (PB'd both of them, but that's another story.) And yes, I eat them in ridiculously small portions, so mentally I am OK with that. However, I ALSO know that I'm not getting proper nutrition to fuel my body and I'm not going to lose weight that way. I'm down to 180 and even in "moderation" those types of meals will not allow me to lose weight. You can be sick of these comments or not, it won't change the fact that you have to make healthy choices to lose weight. Sorry, but that's the deal. My doctor did not suggest a particular eating plan. He didn't even put me on a pre-op diet! He said, "Enjoy the foods you've always enjoyed but in smaller portions." Well, the 1st 6 months I was a very good little bandster and ate fish, veggies, eggs, cottage cheese, etc. I also worked my butt off at the gym 4x a week. I lost weight. 6 months later I hit a plateau, quit the gym, relaxed my eating rules, and haven't lost anything significant since November. Hello? What's the lesson here?? Do what you like. Eat how you like. But you will have a much more difficult time getting the weight off....especially after 6 months and your body has made it's adjustments. It's up to you! -
Yes I most certainly DID get my coconut rum!! Had a cheater pina colada yesterday and one today! What was Macy's favorite animal at the zoo? I love the giraffes

I think the Botox would give you the 'frozen face look' if you had it done in the wrong place (like around your mouth) or too many places around your eyes. But between the brows like I had done is fine for me! Hollow, deep set eyes? I'm thinking loads of concealer! LOL Besides, you're young yet, Jacqui! Karey - I got a little bruising in the nasolabial folds...about 1/8" x 3/4" on each side...but they lasted only a week and it was easily covered with makeup. Considering the sheer number of injections I had (probably 20), I thought that was pretty good. I was most impressed with the results on what they call the marionette lines (?) or the frown lines on the ends of your mouth. Dr. said that actually takes very little serum to achieve. -
I feel ya, sister! I went out yesterday car shopping for/with my son from 11-4. It was so freakin' hot and muggy I thought I'd lose my mind. The good news is that we found "the" car and I don't have to go out in it again!!! It's gonna be a LONG summer! ugh. TracyK -- OMG, Macy is so dang CUTE!!! I love the 1st and 2nd pics although they are ALL wonderful! How to choose?! Gawd, if you think Sears is a ripoff, just wait til you get to the graduation pics delimma!! OMG, talk about expensive!!! Like $300 for the medium package that i'd like!? Still can't seem to make myself fork over the dough.

Will Emotional Eating Sabotage Your Success?
TerriDoodle replied to MelissaMcCreery's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I still am unclear or undecided that I am an emotional eater. Is there a checklist of "symptoms" or behaviors that can help me identify if this is an issue for me? -

How are you feeling today??? Please let us know! -
Kat, these are the NSV's I've been waiting to hear you post! Just think...every day it will get better and better. I am VERY sorry to hear that today was not a good one, but considering all the major work that was done, the fact that you're even posting is amazing! What do the other PS 'veterans' say about what to expect with the pain? 2-3 weeks?? Denise - You must be in heaven!!!!! He is just precious!!!

In that picture where we're laughing...I love the way Jenn has her head back and the sky is reflecting off her glasses! I don't know why...I just like it. GREAT pic and sums up the weekend nicely!

It sounds to me like it's a swelling+chewing issue. You could try going on mushies and Soups for a day or two then go back to solids but start paying very close attention to your bites, chewing and time between bites! Sounds like you've irritated your stoma. If it persists even after the fluids and mushies, call your doctor Tuesday. If the fluids and mushies are not helping, by all means call your doctor! Try Gas-x for the bloating and see if that helps.
