I had reflux when my band was too tight. Went away after a slight unfill, no problems since.

Amaltha- If I were you I'd do my best to get established with a local doc...even if they're 2 hrs away. It makes getting adjustments much easier and in case of any problems at least you have an American doctor to turn to. Yes, the first year you will have many adjustments...and maybe the second year, too. After that it will probably slow down a lot. As for going in once/month "just to have your parts checked"....that is really not feasible. There's not much they can check other than Fluid level without xrays and fluro.... y'know?

Yeah, I did ask if anyone wanted to stay an extra day....but if there's only 3 of us (you, me and Kat?) then the house would cost us an extra $200 each! Maybe stay at a hotel in Huntsville? I dunno.... any ideas?

I remember my first meal...it was baked fish, green Beans and mashed potatoes. I had about 1 tablespoon of each and chewed it 'til it was mush! LOL! Oh, and I waited about 2 mins. between each bite. When I survived that meal I ate again the next day. And the next. And the next... You'll be fine. Just go real easy.

I've been on LBT a long time and have been banded for 15 months myself. I've never heard of this reaction. Please call your doctor on Monday and in the meantime, I think I'd stay on liquids.

Laura - you should go to the nutrition section of the pharmacy or grocery store and get 'booster' drinks like "Ensure"....not apple juice. They'll have all the nutrition you need until you can get some real food in.

I think the advice is not to start 'eating for two' until your 2nd trimester....no increase in calories until then. Increase nutritional value of your food, but not calories. Your baby isn't even as big as a bean yet!! You should only gain like 3-4# in your first trimester. Be careful!!

Yeah, I was some kind of pissed! We booked 5 rooms MONTHS in advance and they give us a room whose window/balcony is about 20' from the huge building under construction next door. So I called to have them move us to another room....and they said, "but you didn't request it! Perhaps next time you book with us, you need to let us know that you want a river view." I was just pissed!! We paid for a "Suite" too! It was a rip-off all the way around. I'll never stay at or recommend that hotel again! I also don't remember reading or being advised in any way that the lobby was under construction!! Yuck!! I am just not that crazy about San Antonio....never have been.

I feel ya, Kat! I recently closed all my accounts at Chase Bank....I've wanted to do it for years 'cause they are the Rolls Royce of bank fees, I tell ya!! So I finally did it when they lost one of my deposits and I had to wait for DAYS for them to reconcile the situation. Oh, what JOY I took in pulling my funds from that bank....all $800 of them!! LOL I'm sure they're sorry to see ME go!! That'll teach 'em! Laura - what a RIP OFF!! Good for you! You musta learned something from me at the hotel in SA!! Things with my son are alright. His doctor is on vacation this week and I'll feel better after I am able to talk to her and get him lined up with a psychotherapist....IF I can get him to go. Big IF. Mom is doing actually very well lately. She's back on solid foods. BAMA: Deposit that is due will be $60.00 each.
