Happy Birthday, Tracy!!!!!!! :crying: Laura, I should send you a pair of earrings to try...you may not be allergic to it since I use .999 pure silver, not sterling. People who are allergic are generally sensitive to the nickel alloy that is added to make it stronger. Do you have pierced ears? Or should I send a bracelet? You can also put lacquer or even nail polish on ear wires to make them hypo-allergenic. Just FYI. Denise, that is ONE CUTE BABY!!!!! Makes me want to snuggle-n-sniff!! TracyK, going to Galveston must have been depressing as hell!! I wouldn't be able to take it! I can't even imagine what it must look like in person. Pamela must be bizzzee as a bee working on her Chapter 4! Go Pammy, Go!!!

Good Morning and (((HUGS))) to everyone! Tracy, I hope you are feeling better today. I'm sure it melted Charles' heart to see you feeling so vulnerable and raw....you're always so strong and 'together'. Remember, too, that the cost of plastic surgery keeps going down so it'll happen and at YOUR price. I wouldn't be surprised at all if that dr. called you in a week or two and lowered their price. With the economy the way it is there may be quite a squeeze on their profits! Take heart! Well, I talked to the volunteer about the dogs and she's trying to operate without internet, which is difficult because the volunteer network is 80% internet based! But she did say she thinks Comet is already in process of being adopted I'll know more after the weekend. Boo. There's an adoption 'fair' tonight, she said, that will have some of their Goldens, along with other rescue organizations, so I may go to that. There are two females I like too, but both are heartworm positive and have to go thru treatment before being adopted. So, like Tracy, I just have to be philosophical and know that "my" dog is out there and the angels are working hard to get us together. Hey! Guess what?! I sold 5 pieces of jewelry yesterday!!! Weird! I haven't had any orders for a month, then 5 in one day! I guess people are getting geared up for the holidays already. I really need to get crack-a-lackin' in that studio if I want to keep up! I've got a busy day ahead of me so I better get going. Ya'll hang tough.

That sounds so interesting! I like to hear what other people do for a living. I have such a "regular" ol' job....I'm an executive secretary, but I like it. Boy, I could sure use some design lessons these days making my jewelry!! I'm clueless and have never taken an art class! Again, it sounds to me like you are right on track. I shoot for 60g of protein a day and do try to keep my carbs low <60. For a while there I had been eating as my doctor suggested: Eat whatever you like, just less of it. That worked fine for the 1st 6 months while I was exercising daily, but now....not so much! I'm back on the low-carb wagon and feeling much less hunger, losing weight again, and more in control. It's hard to get in 70-100g a day with food alone, so yeah, you'll definitely want to find a way to supplement that. I do like whey protein better than soy so if you can find a source, go for it. Other than that, how are you feeling? OK? It takes a few weeks to get back 100%! No problems finding a fill doctor?

P-BODY - Welcome! Wow...all the way from Thailand! What kind of work are you doing there? Are you an American? It sounds like you are on the right track and eating the right foods. Just fyi my post op diet was something like this: 2 days Clear liquids such as broth, Jello, popcicles, etc. 1 week full liquids - any kind of Soup as long as it's blended smooth, Protein shakes, yogurt, smoothies, etc. 3 weeks mushies - cottage cheese, pinto Beans, guacamole, scrambled eggs, etc. then I proceeded to regular foods. Hope that helps. LBT is a wonderful place to gather information. You've come to the right place!

Tracy!! Hugs girlfriend....but I do not understand why this happened!! Damn them! Like Pamela said....everything happens for a reason and maybe you just had an angel watching out for you today! Well, I put my application in over a week ago and just heard back from them today! Apparently the volunteer assigned to me has just now gotten her electricity back on! So I'll talk to her tomorrow and maybe I can go look at 2-3 this weekend. But there is a special one I do have my eye on and hope he isn't taken....click on this link and take a look. I just have a "feeling" about him and did from the minute I saw his profile: Golden Beginnings -- 08-130 CometIsn't he BEAUTIFUL??? How cool!!! Yeah, I'd be getting nervous too!! I forget, are you all approved already...or what hoops will you have to jump thru yet? Congrats, sista, on staying away from the sweets! Me too!! Day 5 - clean and sober! I've lost 2# this week...down to 181.0. We are moving in the right direction.

    Can't find the port?

My port is not flipped but it is slightly tilted which happens quite often....that's possibly what's going on with you, too. It's unfortunate. I agree with others that you may benefit by getting fills under fluro.

    Answer Me This...

Yeah, I don't know what it is about hiccups but when I'm feeling a little stuck I'll sometimes get the hiccups....and it clears right up!? As for your fresh fill giving you some weird discomfort, just a word of wisdom for you and that is to proceed slowly and carefully over these next two weeks. It can take that long to feel the final effect of the fill. Mine get progressively tighter for 10 days or longer.

How Do You Overcome Feelings of Disappointment?

Maybe you've forgotten that weight loss does not happen in a straight line! You should see my WL chart! It's crazy! Up, down, up down....then level for 6 weeks, then down, then up....blah blah blah. 6# in four weeks IS RIGHT ON TARGET!! 1-2#/week!! Be gentle with yourself and focus on other things. It's all good!

    Mood swings from hell!?

When I was in the pre-op phase I was counseled by a nurse who specialized in lap-band surgeries and I distinctly remember her telling me that a period of depression is very common about 3 weeks following surgery. I thought that was so odd!? She said it is due to several factors: 1) Release of estrogen with the melting of fat cells, 2) after-effects of the anesthesia and 3) mental adjustments that have to be made without food to rely on as a 'pacifier'. Just hang in there a couple more weeks...it will go away as soon as it came. Sorry if you're not feeling so hot, but it won't last! My son is bipolar, too....I'm glad to hear you are well controlled! That's great!

Kat - that is so sad about Manda's sister I know a situation just like that with one of Evan's friends. Great kid and got kicked out of her house for disagreeing with her dad about politics. The REAL problem is that this guy has hooked up with some white trash and her FOUR kids (all with different daddies) and he's overwhelmed. She had to leave her school and bestest friends to go live with her mom in Mississippi which she hates with a passion. It's pitiful the way some people treat their kids. I just don't get it. Well, Day 4 is still going well and I have to say that I've made the observation that I definitely do not get as hungry when I cut out the carbs. Wow. Go figger. So easy now to stay below 1100 calories/day and still be 'satisfied'. Although I would be happy to have that big ol' brownie that was in our kitchen all day just calling my name...but I did NOT succumb. Just stared it down and said, "BAD BROWNIE!! DIE BROWNIE DIE!!!" LOL We have just stunning weather here this week. I have a happy hour scheduled on a gf's patio tomorrow night which I am very much looking forward to. Yes indeed. Laura - Is the "Degree -----> " on your wall or on your pic?? LOL Very nice office! You should be proud! Most people work a lifetime to get an office like that. Where IS suzie???

Quiche is easy, but not so good heated up in a microwave... they are best right out of the oven. Here's a basic recipe - then you add ham, sausage, mushrooms, asparagus, broccoli, bacon, spinach....whatever you like! 4 eggs 2 cups half-and-half cream 1/8 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon white pepper 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg 4 ounces Jarlsberg cheese, shredded (or Swiss or Havarti...whatever) 2 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shell DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). In a large bowl, whisk together eggs and half-and-half. Season with salt, white pepper and nutmeg. Place shredded Jarlsberg and mozzarella in the pie shell. Pour egg mixture over cheese. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and bake for 25 minutes, or until crust is golden and filling is set. Allow to set 5 to 10 minutes before serving

That actually sounds perfect! Mmmm. Strawberry Romaine Salad 1 large head romaine lettuce 1 head boston lettuce (also called butter lettuce) (If I can't find that, I'll use red-tip) 1 pint fresh strawberries, sliced 1/2+ c. chopped pecans, roasted 4oz. shredded monterrey jack cheese (I've also used feta) Dressing: 1 cup canola or vegetable oil 1/2 cup red wine vinegar 2 cloves garlic, minced Handful of fresh chopped parsley (if you have it) 1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar (or 10 packets of Splenda) Salt and sweet paprika to taste – start out with ½ teaspoon each 1/2 tsp ground white pepper Blend garlic, parsley and sugar into vinegar. Slowly add canola and whisk as you go. Add salt and paprika. Taste and add pepper. (Frankly, I throw it all in a mason jar and shake the hell out of it) Serves about 10 as a salad or 6-8 as an entree with roasted chicken or chunks of deli turkey added. Ok, I'M HUNGRY NOW!!!! Day 4....clean and sober!
