Laura - If you're into pepperocini lately then you HAVE to try this extremely complicated recipe (see if you can follow along!): 1 pot roast 1 lg jar pepperocini Throw in crock pot for 8 hrs on low. OMG - It's sooooooooo good....we gobble it down. DH loves it on tortillas the next day, too.

Oh, that's absolutely horrible! Jeez, this is a crazy world. Everyone just needs to get themselves some VIOLETS and it would be a much better place. Pammy - so glad you like the earrings! I liked 'em too. You tell me what colors you want and I'll get working on 'em .... you just pay me "whenever" ... no big deal at all. Oddly, my desk is devoid of work this morning. Wish I was outside playing with my doggie instead. I wuv him a lot. Tracy, if there had been peanut butter cookies in my house last night I would have had 5-6 of them, too. I've been giving myself permission to eat all kinds of sugar lately! Scale stays the same no matter WHAT I do....so WTF!! Love you guys -- have a good morning!

Hi Girls! Man, I have been cranking out the jewelry today! Besides taking Hero to the Bark Park, it's all I've done all day. DH was at the Texans game so it was nice and quiet here. Pam - did you get yours? TracyK - So what did you end up doing this weekend with this beautiful weather? Last I saw it was supposed to be pretty all week. I only have to work 3 days this week! Yea! I'm going to bed......I'm pooped! 5:15 is gonna come mighty early. g'night all! Mmmmmuah!

Kat - you can just send a check...that's great. Thanks. Tracy - Wanna go to the bead show with me?? LOL Better not, it's addictive as crack cocaine. Wanna borrow my dog? He's for rent cheap! I've got so many things I need to do this weekend I don't know where to start.....so I'm starting here! I need to go shopping for some fall/winter clothes and just don't feel like it! Maybe I'll wait 'til next weekend....I have 4 days off in a row. Well, I better get to it.....lots to do. TTYL!

As I said, I'm not trying to start an argument, I just want to get educated...and have someone explain to me how raising taxes, especially on businesses, helps the economy?
-
Wow… I cannot believe how much doom and gloom there is around my office here. The markets really suck and there isn’t ANY light at the end of the tunnel. It’s not just the oil business they’re talking about – it’s ALL business and ALL investments – just coming to a screeching halt. When you think about the implications, it’s pretty darn scary. I heard this morning that the 700 billion only scratches the surface…that now they’re saying the number is more like 2.3 TRILLION. You may be enjoying the lower price for gas right now, but I don’t think it will last and the price of everything else will just keep going up and up. In just a few months rigs will stop working, Saudis will cut production and the costs will go way up. People will start losing jobs. Guaranteed. The market delayed trading this morning because the sell-off was so severe. Better start socking away your pennies. It is naive thinking to say this is the fault of our president and that all we need is a "change". This has very little to do with George Bush. More government control and more taxes on business will make this situation sooooooooo much worse and make it last soooooooo much longer unless we just allow the free markets to correct themselves by stimulating through REDUCED regulations and REDUCED taxes. If I have the intelligence to figure this out, I just don't understand why the majority of Americans can't. It is a very scary time. I'm sorry.....I just had to say it. I'm not trying to start any arguments so I won't respond further, but I promise that I will read what any of you have to say to convince me otherwise. I wish somebody could make me understand why the hell the liberals are in the lead. I seriously just don't get it. Ok, I"m ready for both barrells now.....

Haydee - glad you like the necklace! Just stick the check in the mail...there's no hurry! I doubt you'll be going to Katy by way of Cypress! LOL

Pammy - did you have a better day today? I hope so, I hate days like that...especially MONDAYS! Yuck. TracyM - That's a shame about your friend...Frankly I think a person would have to be half crazy to have a bypass...it's just so PERMANENT! But I sure do understand being desperate! Is Robby better today? Try not to fret...he'll get better....for awhile. LOL You're a great mom, there's no doubt about that. TracyK - glad you're feeling better today. Judy - sounds like the cruise was awesome!! Apparently your mistake was that you took the bracelet OFF!!? Laura - You're doing just GREAT with your quit! Just remember, "It's an urge, not a command!" I'm really proud of you! Let me know how the pumpkin soup turned out... I love pumpkin pie and bread. If anyone wants a good Italian sausage soup recipe with good veggies in it, let me know. I found an easy, delish recipe. Hero sez "Hai Evrbawdi"

You have such a colorful family, Laura!!

PF CHang's is one of my favorite restaurants, too!! YUM. Once again, Laura.... you have very unique taste buds! I can tell you a little about gold/value. Today it's trading at $784.50/Troy oz. There are 20 pennyweights/troy oz. This website (GOLD PRICES | PRICE OF GOLD | GOLD MARKET | GOLD PRICES USA | CURRENT GOLD PRICES | JEWELRY PRICES) is paying $16.63 for 14K/pennyweight which is less than half of the bare market price for gold bouillon ($39.23/pennyweight)... but may be as good of a deal as you will find. $784 /oz of gold is not as high as it has been recently.... I think it was pushing $1000/oz within the last few weeks. Might want to hold onto it awhile longer....the value of gold and silver goes up as the economy goes south. If Obama gets elected, you can pretty much count on the economy going south! (Sorry-- it's just the truth.)
-
Sure, Pamela - I'll put them in the mail today! I'll have to make myself a pair, too! I love that blue color 'cause anytime you're wearing jeans, they go with the outfit! Thanks for your biz!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAYDEE!! I've been thinking about you and the wedding this weekend! I'm so glad ya'll let them party on...how cool! The weather was picture perfect for it, eh? I think I finally wore my dog out this weekend. We went to the bark park yesterday and today, and he's been sleeping since about 4:00! He never sleeps this much! LOL I dabbled in some jewelry--a couple pieces are in my shop. Haydee, I finished your necklace and it will be in the mail to you tomorrow. I really, really don't feel like going to work tomorrow!! I have no complaints about the job itself or the people, I just HATE getting up and trying to think of what to wear!!? That's the worst part. If I could just throw on some capri's and a Tshirt I'd be one happy little worker bee! Nighty-night. I'm pooped today, too.

When I get the hiccups I know that it's time to stop eating. It's my 'soft stop' signal. If I eat more than a couple more bites, then I KNOW I'm going to pay for it with a PB.

I am confused and need help to understand
TerriDoodle replied to clifton81's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The first thing that popped into my head reading your post is that if I had that predicament, I'd pack a small ice chest every morning with healthier foods (my favorites like cottage cheese & berries, cheese sticks, a peanut butter sandwich, seafood or chicken salad, fruit cups, etc.). You don't really kettle chips and ice cream will get you where you want to be, do you? -
Share ideas, What did you eat today ?
TerriDoodle replied to kimmom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
B Cottage cheese w/ raspberries and Splenda L Bowl of cereal S cheese stick D Italian sausage soup (sausage, carrots, zucchini, spinach, northern beans) and garlic bread -
You have a couple of choices... 1) you can get a slight unfill or 2) you can get more creative with your meals When I'm feeling really tight I'll have vegetable Soups or cottage cheese with pureed fruit. I'll mince up chicken and add it to hot and sour Soup or steam the heck out of vegetables, being always careful not to eat any fibrous stems. I've never been able to eat chicken wings...or any kind of fried chicken (for some reason). It could be you are feeling so full because of it's rubbery texture and it's just getting stuck. This is just a time when you'll have to start experiementing with different foods. But you are right to be concerned about proper nutrition...it's so important especially when you are eating so little.

What does your restriction feel like?
TerriDoodle replied to MyTurn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Being restricted just feels like a fullness 'above' your stomach....the point beyond which if you eat more you will possibly spit some up. Good restriction will also cause you to reject food that is not chewed well or eaten too quickly. Don't worry...when you're properly restricted...you'll know it! -
How long have you kept the weight off?
TerriDoodle replied to Babe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've maintained 182 for about a year with no problem. It's not my preferred weight, but the weight my BODY prefers! The band is a wonderful tool to help you lose and maintain weight loss, but there certainly are ways to eat around it if you so desire! Milk shakes go down super easy! -
Ok, great! I'll get it done today! Have the day off today and going for a much needed facial and haircut!!! Need a mani/pedi, too, but trying to cut back somewhere ....gonna have to get used to that!!! You should see my dog right now...we're in the back yard and he's going full blast like a bullet back and forth across the yard.....LOL!! Wish I had that kind of energy!!
