Pam - Sorry you're feeling worse. I have a rule about waiting for doctors: 20 minutes I give them a warning that I will only wait 10 more minutes. If those 10 minutes go by then I leave. A handful of times it has gotten me in and other times I had to leave and reschecule....BUT I feel better about 'taking my stand'. Kat - what kind of car did they get?
-
I have so many favorite desserts it would be hard to pick one. Anyone want my list??? I didn't think so..... Michelle, I'd be in BIG trouble if I lived in your house, that is for sure.
-
I've never quite understood why they'd need camo underwear....??? Hmmmmm. Oh, I love those calf massage thingies. Maybe I'll get one for DH (and myself! :smile2:) for Xmas.
-
Haydee - I order the hunting gear (gifts) for the deer lease we have at my company. This year the guys are all excited about the Bushnell Back Tracker we have. Maybe you and your sisters can go in on a range finder for him...those can be used for golf AND hunting. They love camo anything!!....shirts, jackets, tshirts, vests, even long underwear! They can never have enough camo. Wierdos.

Hi Everyone, This is my definition of hell: Taking my 18 y.o. son shopping for clothes. I was in hell today and it's not pretty. Jane, I pay $35-45 for a haircut and blow-dry. I do my own highlights but I think they run about $75 for a pull-thru cap (that's why I do my own for about $6!). For Xmas hints: I like Japanese Cherry Blossom from Bath and Body works (YUM). I like ANYTHING handmade from Etsy....especially little notecards, pottery pendants (love this seller)....Oh wait, as a matter of fact, I have an Etsy wishlist all ready (click here) How easy is that!!? I'm constantly adding things to my 'favorites' list. I'll have to refer all my friends to it that are asking for hints! Tracy, no I never did get that fill. Just when I think I'm gonna do it I seem to get tight again! I guess I'll coast for awhile. Sure wish I'd lose some weight. Speaking of which....KAT! Why are you so concerned about your weight and trying to be good, etc? You're SKINNY for cryin' out loud!! Surely you're not trying to lose more?! Pam - think you'll be able to go to work tomorrow? Hope you're feeling better :wink2: Is your throat still sore? Oh, and I did like you suggested....I took a Tylenol PM last night and slept HARD for 8 solid hours. it was BLISS!! (Did you know that's only Tylenol mixed with Benadryl?! LOL Yeah, my doctor told me that ....check the label!) Well, I guess I'll see what's on TV. It gets dark so dang early! It's hard to get used to. I'm like sleepy at 8:00 and have to make myself stay up! Laterz!

Hey everyone! TracyK - What malls are filing Chapter 11? I hadn't heard that. Pammy, sorry youre sick  Sure seems like you've been sick a lot since school started. Burning the candle at both ends will do that to ya!! (Not to mention being around a bunch of snotty rug rats all day, every day!) Been meaning to ask you...why does Susanne go all the way to the commissary to get her hair cut??! Dang! Must be some special hair dresser!? I understand though. I haven't had a good one since 1994! Kat, Becky's husband sure sounds sick!! It must be a parasite of some sort! Those can be terrible! Let me know...I'm curious. I sure hope he's better soon! Sounds like he should have gone into the hospital about a week ago!! Yikes! Ever have one of those days where you're busy all day...to the point of exhaustion...and don't know what the hell you did all day?? That's me today. Can't really tell you what I did, but I sure was busy! :-/
-
Kat - I can't BELIEVE the nerve of your aunt in writing that letter!!!? WTF? But I guess 'back in the day' it was an insult to get a typewritten letter...but still....to slap your wrist for it was pretty far out of line! I would have a hard time restraining myself too...good luck with that! Oh, BTW, I got your earring made I just keep forgetting to get it in the mail! Duh!! Laura - OMG, you have your tree up already?? Sending out gifts already??? I wish I could get some of that enthusiasm. It's been many years since I was actually excited about Xmas. It's just one great big hassle to me. Isn't that pitiful? I think if I could have someone come in and magically transform my house with the tree and decorations, etc. (like when I was a KID) my attitude would be much better. I actually don't mind the shopping...it's the decorating! <shrug> TracyinKS - how're the pills working for you? Feeling any different yet or will it take some time to build in your system? Lexapro works from Day 1....yeee haw! That was nice: Instant Happy. Michelle - have things slowed down for you at all? Or are you still going 100 MPH? How's the blues you were dealing with? Judy - try to control yourself today!! I wish I could come! Janie - don't work too hard. Haydee - whatchu gonna do today? Probably a nap at some point, eh? Do ya'll have any weddings booked around Xmas? Any bridezillas lately? Suzie - what's the weather like? Do you get to slow down a bit today? The weather is going to be beautiful here today....as it has been for like the last 6 weekends! High of 68 and breezy. Yum! Might actually get to wear a sweater! Nothing else going on really. I'm just going to hang at the house and try to get some jewelry done. I am so STUCK lately!
-
Janie - meant to say that I took a little vacation from my anti-depressants to see if would help with my weight-loss stall. It took about 4-5 weeks but my depression came roaring back just like the old days. I don't have it real bad, but enough to make me pretty miserable. It was an interesting experiment anyway. Oh, and NO, it didn't help with my stall either.

See if this website helps you. I discovered it a couple of months ago and it answered my question pronto: Alabama Vehicle Registration & Titling - AL Car Registration Guide - DMV.ORG We have a starbucks about every 50 feet here....it's totally ridiculous. Tracy and I both went to Hadar Spivak and he is really incredible. He has done thousands of surgeries and was one of the few doctors who were chosed for the lap band FDA trials...so he's been doing them longer than anyone in the U.S. Not to mention his staff is excellent and he is a VERY nice person. I hate being sleepy at the office !! :tongue2: Yeah, try taking them at night. Or ask if you can start off with 1/2 dose and work your way up. Glad you got something -- hope it helps. It should!

Hi All - Pammy sent out the flying monkeys and they found me. I just had my feelings hurt (and NO, it wasn't the stupid election!!!...give me a little more credit than that please!) but I have to learn to swallow my stupid pride and just move on. Ever get like that? I do, and way too often. So please forgive me for my little tantrum. I love you all. ********* Sitting here drinking coffee in the freakin' middle of the night practically. Anyone else having trouble with this time change? I normally don't even notice it, but man I've been having trouble sleeping ever since then! I've got the day off today and a very empty cupboard. I really should be creating a menu for the weekend and preparing my list. One problem with that is that implies that I will be cooking! Ugh, I hate to cook!! Sounds like a crock pot day, eh? Anyone want to make a suggestion of what to put in it??? I had yesterday off too...and a bare cupboard...and you would not believe the crap I ate all day! I surprised even myself. Carbs are so evil. Y'know when you don't have any groceries in the house, that's what you tend to eat...stuff out of the pantry (= carbs!) I grazed like a cow all day. Just proves once again that carbs are good for nuttin' except making me hungry in an hour. Well, I guess I'll go refill my coffee cup and enjoy the dead quiet outside. Even Hero is sleeping!!

Did not lose more than 32 lbs with Lap Band - Am now going to try Medi Zone
TerriDoodle replied to Sunny Skies's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well said, Jodi. -
How much weight can you lose?
TerriDoodle replied to BeautyLocs's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will find that there is the full range of experience represented here at LBT. Some people reach goal, some people never lose more than 10-15#....and most fall somewhere in the middle. At my pre-op meeting, my surgeon said that "at the one year mark most of us will have lost 50-60% of the excess weight"...and for me he was absolutely right on. I, apparently, am quite average. The rest of it will take harder work and more discipline, but that doesn't mean it won't come off. Bypass was never ever a consideration for me, even if I had been 100# overweight, just because I don't like the malnutrition rate and the permanency of it. -
Many people report being tight in the morning. Drinking a hot beverage (like coffee or tea) seems to help open it up. You might try that. As for the evening tightness, maybe that is stress related....which also is known to cause tightness. (Preschoolers would definitely make ME stress out!) Again, try some warm tea before your meal. Or you could try some deep breathing/relaxation/meditation to de-stress from your day. Ever tried yoga??? It's AWESOME!
-
Oh yes, and here at LBT it's actually known as "sliming"! We've all done it, I think. But you say you can pinpoint the problem, so you ARE learning!
-
You sound like me. Well, I don't eat like a hog, but do eat larger portions than I used to when I was tighter. But that high level of restriction gave me lots of problems that I'm happy not to deal with! I have about 30# to lose also and it's just tougher from this point forward. I'm trying to move more...walking a few miles a week with my new dog and that's helping. I think I've actually lost a pound or two which I haven't done in a LONG time!
-
Tonya, I agree with the others....you probably just had a little bit of initial swelling which subsided. It sounds like you're getting close though, so don't get discouraged! Good luck to you!
-
I have no idea how much weight you'd have to lose in order for the band to loosen up, but that is beside the point and not how the band is designed to work! If you are only able to keep liquids down, then you need a partial unfill.... PERIOD. You should be not only eating mushies by now, but should be enjoying solid food! Liquids and mushies will pass right thru the band...might as well not even have one. Call your doctor!
-
Am I moving to mushies too fast?
TerriDoodle replied to dr_justice's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did your doc say a 'full liquid diet' or a 'clear liquid diet'?...and when did he say it was OK for you to move on to mushies? Day 5-6 sounds a bit early to me! if you pureed the Pasta and soup, then that's ok for a full liquid diet, but not ok for a clear liquid diet. Just be careful. It's not worth the trouble you may have later on if you go against doctors orders. One thing I've learned, they have their reasons!! -
Anyone Lost Over 100lbs
TerriDoodle replied to Jeremy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jeremy, I would say a call to your doctor is in order. Following is a list of symptoms associated with a gall bladder attack which is fairly common with bandsters...is this what you are feeling? GALLBLADDER ATTACK SYMPTOMS Please note that if you are in severe pain and particularly if your attack symptoms are accompanied by fever DO SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY. The following symptoms are typical of a gallbladder attack. Moderate to severe pain under the right side of the rib cage Pain may radiate through to the back or to the right shoulder Severe upper abdominal pain (biliary colic) Nausea Queasiness Vomiting Gas Burping or belching Attacks are often at night Attacks often occur after overeating Pain will often but not always follow a meal with fats or grease Pain may be worse with deep inhalation Attacks can last from 15 minutes to 15 hours -
are soups ok the first week?
TerriDoodle replied to kplant's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, this sounds like it would be fine. BTW, I would have starved to death if it hadn't been for broccoli cheese soup in those first 3 weeks....and I lost 12#. -
Just popping in to say hi! I'll be back soon...... just need a little break. k?
-
how could this possibly be?
TerriDoodle replied to Lshelley21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's a fluke, I'm sure. How much 'gain' are you talking about here? -
If it has sweeteners in it you may check the label to see what kind they are...maltitol and sorbital (sp?) are well known for causing gastric distress. They certainly do for me! You could buy unflavored Protein and make up your own shakes or smoothies with fruit, yogurt, apple juice, etc. You can also try DaVinci flavored syrups which I think are sweetened with Splenda as well.

Notice to All Employees As of November 5, 2008, when President Obama is officially elected into office, our company will instill a few new policies which are in keeping with his new, inspiring issues of change and fairness: 1. All salespeople will be pooling their sales and bonuses into a common pool that will be divided equally between all of you. This will serve to give those of you who are underachieving a “fair shake.” 2. All low level workers will be pooling their wages, including overtime , into a common pool, dividing it equally amongst yourselves. This will help those who are “too busy for overtime” to reap the rewards from those who have more spare time and can work extra hours. 3. All top management will now be referred to as “the government.” We will not participate in this “pooling” experience because the law doesn't apply to us. 4. The “government” will give eloquent speeches to all employees every week, encouraging it's workers to continue to work hard “for the good of all.” 5. The employees will be thrilled with these new policies because it's “good to spread the wealth.” Those of you who have underachieved will finally get an opportunity; those of you who have worked hard and had success will feel more “patriotic.” 6. The last few people who were hired should clean out their desks. Don't feel bad, though, because President Obama will give you free healthcare, free handouts, free oil for heating your home, free foodstamps, and he'll let you stay in your home for as long as you want even if you can't pay your mortgage. If you appeal directly to our democratic congress, you might even get a free flatscreen TV and a coupon for free haircuts (shouldn't all Americans be entitled to nice looking hair?) !!! If for any reason you are not happy with the new policies, you may want to rethink your vote on November 4th.
