Judy and Pamela -- This is for you!...... A teacher was explaining biology to her 4th grade students. "Human beings are the only animals that stutter," she said. A little girl raised her hand. "I had a kitty-cat who stuttered." The teacher, knowing how precious some of these stories could become, asked the girl to describe the incident. "Well," she began, "I was in the back yard with my kitty and the Rottweiler that lives next door got a running start and before we knew it, he jumped over the fence into our yard!" "That must've been scary," said the teacher. "It sure was," said the little girl. "My kitty raised her back, went 'Sssss, Sssss, Sssss,' and before she could say 'Shit!' the Rottweiler ate her!"

Michelle - I'm so glad you didn't take our advice and are helping your neighbor so much!! He will remember your kindness always...and so with the kids. Nothing like a woman's touch to make a house feel warm. Good job thinking of the tablecloth and candle. Nice touch! So, who's this uncle that's living there? PT or FT? (nosey me!!!) Well, Laura....if you can't figure out where the house is, then we are in BIG BIG trouble!!!

Yep, I remember that hip pain...just this dull achiness, right? As for the ligament pain, I remember that laying down on my side with a pillow supporting my tummy helped a lot!! I had so many pillows in the bed there wasn't room for poor hubby and that last month he had to sleep in the guest room!

What sign are you, Haydee?

yes, hernia surgery is the closest 'match' -
Pamela - don't you love working with a trainer? You will really see the benefits in another month or two for sure! Tell your 'new doctor' friend that we're proud of her too!! That must be incredibly exciting!! Oddly, that's one thing I've never had the desire to do is to go back to school. I'm an information junkie...but I guess I like it on my own terms! Also, I'm a Gemini and we have a hard time committing to one subject. We're very typically a 'jack of all trades and master of none' kinda folk. +++++++++++++++++++++ Ho hum. Gonna be a long day today and I'm sleepy. Not a good combo.

TracyK - being a chocoholic, yeah, I've PB'd it many a time. I remember reading somewhere that it's irritating to the esophagus.... can't for the life of me imagine why!? After all, it is a gift from Heaven!
-
Tracy, why aren't you getting that child support thing fixed?? It makes no sense!
-
Judy -- this is her first baby, right? Good thing...hopefully she'll have LOTS of time to get to the hospital. And she's a nurse, too? That could come in handy! Sorry about your crappy weather. I honestly don't know how you do it for sooooooooo long without going insane. It's been snowing there since like October??? I'm excited... DH and I decided to go for a summer trip to Steamboat Springs!!! We have friends that have a NICE condo there we can get pretty cheap and airfare is only $178. The mountains are my very favorite place to be. I just cannot wait!!! Gotta run....... TTYL

Hi Ya'll! I'm here!! Sorry to have been away. We had our board meeting last week which seemed to go on FOREVER and I was just swamped! Then over the weekend it was here, there and everywhere with kids, dogs, chores, etc. Yesterday at work I was working on our REVISED revised budget...lots of that going on these days...and today I've been working on my own budget and moving funds around in my 401k getting my investments allocated and balanced again. Man, that is painful! OMG!! Before I forget....all of you who have HBO you must make a point of gathering the entire family around the TV to watch "Taking Chance". We watched it tonight and I was riveted. DH and I cried thru the whole thing and when it was over I said out loud, "Every American should be required to watch this movie." Uh...... no....anemia does not cause leukemia. That's like saying a cold causes lung cancer. Get an Iron supplement at the pharmacy and she'll be good as new in a couple of days. Yeah, I do that, too! I want my housekeeper to CLEAN not straighten! I need to fire mine but don't have the heart!! She's just not that good! ARE YOU FREAKIN' CRAZY??? You're straightening (and damaging) that BEAUTIFUL hair??? Throw the dang thing away right now!!!!!!!! Aaaaack!! I'm going to come kick your hiney!! Ok, so I'm so excited to report that my new financial plan is working!! I came in UNDER budget for February and that extra goes straight to debt payments. I have never (in my life) created a budget and stuck to it! I really am amazed at how it's helped me become so much aware of my spending! I recommend it highly! I'm also ready to book my flights to Huntsville! I'm so excited!!! TRACYINKS -- You ARE still planning to meet up with us, aren't you?? Got some stuff to before bed....I'll see ya'll tomorrow... I promise!

Being so close, I've been to the Caribbean a few times already...and yes, I agree! The water is unbelievable!! Going to Mediterranean is a pipe dream....I just doubt my sister would go for it. It would be nice, though...I probably wouldn't get DH to Europe any other way!
-
funny you say that about cruise prices, Judy. Yesterday my sister and I were talking about spreading a portion of my mother's ashes (the rest are in a big urn at the cemetery) and spreading them on the ocean from a cruise liner. My mother LOVED cruises-- went on 8 or 10 of them I guess. She was able to do that because natural gas was discovered on some family farm land and that's how she spent her royalties. Fast forward to 2009....and now we have inherited that same land along with our 7 other cousins. It's pretty hard to manage 150 acres with 9 owners!! So we're all in agreement that we should sell the land in the next year or so. Sister and I decided we should take our portion of the proceeds and take our whole family on a nice cruise together and spread her ashes then. Isn't that just the coolest how it all ties together one last time? I think Mom was whispering in our ears yesterday! Her favorite cruises were Alaska, Norway and the Mediterranean .... hmmmmm. I vote for the Mediterranean!!!
-
Gosh, Michelle -- that is a tough one! My instinct is that if you say anything at all, he will probably just get defensive by saying, "Oh, no .... that's alright, we can manage." I mean I can't imagine someone that's able-bodied saying, "oh yeah, that'd be great if you'd come over and clean my house!" ...not to mention he probably wouldn't want you messing with this stuff. The only thing I can think of is "suggesting" a housekeeper that you or another neighbor have good experience with...that way it maintains his privacy. I dunno.

Good Morning Dear Friends.... ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ On Friendship Kahlil Gibran Your friend is your needs answered. He is your field which you sow with love and reap with thanksgiving. And he is your board and your fireside. For you come to him with your hunger, and you seek him for peace. When your friend speaks his mind you fear not the "nay" in your own mind, nor do you withhold the "ay." And when he is silent your heart ceases not to listen to his heart; For without words, in friendship, all thoughts, all desires, all expectations are born and shared, with joy that is unacclaimed. When you part from your friend, you grieve not; For that which you love most in him may be clearer in his absence, as the mountain to the climber is clearer from the plain. And let there be no purpose in friendship save the deepening of the spirit. For love that seeks aught but the disclosure of its own mystery is not love but a net cast forth: and only the unprofitable is caught. And let your best be for your friend. If he must know the ebb of your tide, let him know its flood also. For what is your friend that you should seek him with hours to kill? Seek him always with hours to live. For it is his to fill your need, but not your emptiness. And in the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Have a great day!
