I don't think my body wants this lap band. I lost 75 total, 35 of it in the first month. I didn't reach restriction until 6 months later, at which point I had a really bad stuck episode that I never healed from. I kept pushing it, thinking it would get better, got to the point where I couldnt swallow my own saliva so they had to completely deflate me. Over the next three months I had zero cc's, and gained 25 pounds back. Slowly had saline put back in, but couldn't loose any more weight, but at least didn't gain. Had my last fill on June 17th, felt like I was at a great spot. We came to Florida (which coincidently, is where that stuck episode happened...didn't fly, maybe the heat makes me tighter?) on Friday, all was good. Monday I had a protein shake for bfast, half a slice of pizza for lunch, everything went down smooth. That afternoon I felt it get tight, and over the next few days, it got worse and worse. By 8:00 last night I couldn't take it anymore. Found a hospital with a barbaric surgeon on staff, but of course by the time I was admitted, he was gone for the night. I went to his office this morning and he completely deflated me. Back to the beginning, again. I'm beyond upset. Right now I'm at a 50 pound loss, which is due to a long period of protein shakess, exercising and counting calories. What has the band done for me? Why did it tighten up out of nowhere? I'm going to get a scan we I get back from vacation in 2 weeks to check for a slip. If there is one, at this point, I don't want it fixed. Just take it out. Seriously bummed.

HA! Yes, typo! Bariatric lol I don't really have an answer right now. The dr this morning just told me to hang in there until I can get home. Unfortunately, the symptoms of a slip and being way too tight are very similar. I won't know until I get the scan.i honestly don't think there is a slip. I wasn't sliming or vomiting. Only had heartburn and AWFUL back and chest pain. A mouthful of Water gurguled it's way down for like 2 minutes. Not fun!

Wow, your dr sounds lovely. Is switching to another one a possibility? I do agree with not getting a fill before vacation. First hand experience here, since I spent 3 hrs in the ER last night begging for an adjustment. trust me, it's not fun. I understand your frustration, I'm going through the same emotions right now. It can only get better, right??

I'm at no restriction right now due to a horrible stuck episode. I got my unfil last Tuesday, took it easy for a couple of days, now I'm eating like a wild animal! Well, not really. I'm not eating as much as I used to, but in comparison to what I can eat while in the green zone, it's sickening. Today alone I've had probably 3 cups of rice (between lunch and dinner, not in one sitting) and two steamed dumplings. Breakfast was a shake, at least I started the day right. But why am I acting like I just got off a deserted island?? I know better! I have three more weeks to go before I can get a fill I need someone to taze me or something when I start stuffing my face.

I know, it's all a mental thing. I don't know what to do to overcome it.

He thought my stomach was irritated because I mentioned that I had a little heartburn. He wants it to heal properly, which is all fine and dandy, but some days I just have no control. I NEED restriction!

I've been having issues since February after a really bad stuck episode. Went in about 4 weeks ago and they took out 2cc's. All was well, then about 2 weeks ago I got super tight again. I was trying to grin and bear it but these last two days have been painful to even drink water. She took out another 4cc's, now I'm down to 1.5cc's they think I have gastritis, which stinks but still better than a slip. Go back in a month to see how things are going. I feel a million times better! Ate almost 2 cups of chili for lunch! Yes, more than I should have, but in the past 3 days I've had maybe 4 protein shakes and water.

They think I just never recovered properly from that one episode. Really, the only symptom of gastritis I had was heartburn. -

It is no fun, but the relief is great! Now to test my willpower... -
I bagged everything up and brought it to the office Monday morning! Only kept the girls Easter bunnies, but even they are hidden. Kept the ice cream cake though lol can't part with that.

You're too tight. I'm going through the same thing right now, been about a week. Have been on liquids for 2 days now. I kept waking up everyday hoping that the pain would be gone...nope! So my alarm is set and I will be at my drs office as soon as they open for an unfill. You should probably do the same. It will only get worse! Good luck!

Is this a new way of being too tight/stuck/full for me? The first few days I just thought I was sick, some sort of stomach bug. But then I started journaling the times and it's consistently 5-15 minutes after I eat, my back and sides get crampy/achy. I can feel pain around the band site, it's definitely band related. I called the dr, they're having me come in tomorrow, she thought it may be gallbladder related but I had that taken out in 97. I'm keeping everything down, no reflux, no sliming ect...Anyone have these symptoms? Please tell me it's just another way to get stuck/full. I'm hoping they send me for a scan, make sure everything is where it should be. Am I just not using my band correctly?

Were you on antibiotics? Sounds kinda like thrush...I don't know that adults get that though. -
My scale battery is on the fritz too, I weigh the same, down to the ounce, at all different times of the day. Not possible. I'm always 4lbs heavier at night. And yes, I'm obsessed with the scale lol. Pretty sure I didn't make goal though.

No loss this week. But no gain either, so...holding steady at 238.

Had All My Fill Removed....help
NJMomma replied to donnapa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know what the answer is, but I'm going through the same thing. Got stuck really bad in the beginning of feb, since then I was too tight...finally went for an unfill this past Monday. Can't get a fill again for another 5 weeks. I'm back to zero restriction, sucks! -
Ate A Full Burger And Fries! Help!!
NJMomma replied to dramastarr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also had to get an unfill this week because I was too tight and have had an awful time practicing self control. Ate foods I haven't had in nearly a year. I'm trying to look at it as a hour by hour challenge, not thinking about the 6 weeks I have to wait until my next fill. Good luck! It's hard!! -
Down another couple, 238. Had to get an unfil on Monday, feeling no restriction now hopefully I can stay on track
-
What a DIFFERENCE!!! I made a stupid move and waited to long to go for unfill (over a month!). Wasn't able to get food down at all this weekend and kept waking Sunday night choking on slime, so went in first thing yesterday. She took out 1.5cc, I feel like a million bucks!!! I'm such a procrastinator, and I kept thinking I just wasn't following the rules correctly, give it another day ect...If you think you're too tight, go to the dr asap!! Besides the fact that I could have choked to death in my sleep, the band could have slipped just because I was trying tough it out. Live and learn, right??
