That is so good for your wife! I am scheduled for the 23rd also.
-
I am curvy. I have been all my life. I had boobs at 9-10 and by the time I was 11, my mom and I both wore 36C's. Go figure!!! When I got down last year after working my butt off to 214. Lots of people swore I was 180, etc. I do carry my weight all over. Which is good. Even at 275 in 2003 I still wore most of my 20's and some 22's. I am looking forward to wearing large and anything lower besides a size 18/20.

Thank you for keeping us updated! It really helps those of us who are getting sleeved SOON!!!!

You look absolutely wonderful! Congratulations!

A friend of mine got the band in late May of this year and has been filled 2 times--no weight loss. She can still eat almost as much food as before. She can feel the tightness of the band but still no weight loss. :-(

Thanks everyone. I didn't get put on hbp meds until 3 months after I got married. I guess the change from being single for 30+ years to having an only-child husband plus his loving-doting mom was a little more than I could handle. We will see once I have surgery.

Deciding on a Goal Weight?
LR6909 replied to nowatgoal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow! I love the responses. I had several goals as well. 1st goal is to get to 210 or 200 by my dad’s anniversary on September 11th. I want to turn a few of his "church members" heads. J 2nd goal: Onederland. 3rd goal: My doctor’s goal of 170. 4th goal: 150’s. Final goal is to be in a healthy weight which is between 125-145. So we will see. During high school I ranged from a size 0-3 (freshman year/band—they tried to kill us) to size 9 when I graduated. I don’t ever remember weighing myself back then. I do remember being a size 14 when I was 190.—I was 22 then -
Thanks Kelly. I will schedule an appointment with my PCP for the week after surgery. Hopefully, I can be taken off too. :-0

I have Empire BCBS and had to see nutritionist. My doctor's office has one on staff. Even if I didn't, they probably would want me to see her just to get the "instructions" on how and what to eat.

I am so excited. I got my date—August 23rd. Preop on the 17th. I am so excited. I am going to order more unjury shakes this weekend. Go to Wally World and get a Magic Bullet and a Candle Warmer. Yippee!!! Another plus was I received a check in the mail from the hospital that did my EGD--refunding me the 117.00 I paid them. I wonder how much the co-pay will be for the surgery.....thank God for overtime these last few weeks. Can I just say I AM GRATEFUL!!!! God is faithful!

Magic Bullet is a mixer of sorts that makes shakes in a jiffy. From what I read on this board, some people also use it to puree foods. The Candle Warmer sits on your desk or table, etc. and you can put your cup of soup or coffee, etc. on it and it keeps it warm while you sip, sip, sip.

I finally got a call back from the doctor’s nurse. I have to wait to be scheduled by the nutritionist. She won’t be back until August 1. Go figure…….ugh!

Thank you so much!!!! -
Got a letter from insurance company stating I was approved for 1 night in hospital. They list the surgery date as August 8, 2011. I still have not heard from doctor’s office yet. I have to remember "patience" is a virtue.
-
Congratulations!!!! I think I will be right along or behind you! This is all so exciting.

Awesome!!!

Okay, okay, okay!!! Somebody help me! I received a call yesterday from my insurance company. Oh boy, what is this about. Maybe the prevpak, they have never called me before. I made a mental note to call today. Well, I just checked my voice mail and my surgeon’s office called too, and they said I HAVE BEEN APPROVED!!!! I had no idea they submitted my paperwork already. All of this before I completed the new EGD. Thank ya!!!!! I have 6 lbs to lose before I am at my pre-op goal of 230. I am so excited!!!! BUT, I just called both of them back and neither were available. Ugh! I so hope I can get it scheduled the 2nd week of August. That will be right during/after this major case we are dealing with.

Vitatmins - what should I start taking pre-op?
LR6909 replied to PhatGurl80's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take Celebrate vitamins:- multi-complete chewable in berry (2 a day) and Calcium Plus 500 chewable in Cherry Tart (3 a day). Go to their website, they will send you free samples of all of the Vitamins they offer about 15 or so. I hope you can see the attachments. Is anyone else OBSESSING over getting this sleeve done? It's all I think about!
LR6909 replied to Pinkbetty's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me! :-) Before my EGD, I so wanted to have surgery on July 19. But since then, I have to wait to take another the first week of August and then wait for approval. So, NO, you are not alone.
