I went shopping today with my wonderful husband. We hit Lane Bryant first since I needed some bras. Nothing fit right. All the clothes were too big. What a pain in the ass. We hit the mall and spent 6 hours shopping. I finally found some bras at VS (haven't been able to shop there for so long). Had to take 2 of everything into the fitting rooms to figure out what size to get. I'm everything from a 16 - 20 in normal clothes. Everything I tried on in Womens was just too big. My tops are between a L and XL. I was able to buy clothes at the Limited, Lord and Taylors and Talbotts and everything was 40-60 percent off. Woo Hoo,. My bank account is empty but my closet is full. I love this sleeve.

Thank you everyone. I was just so happy I had to share. So many choices now. The amount of clothes I have now is not much but it's all things I love to wear.

Wow! Tai Chi nearly killed me!
dlflightgirl replied to ouroborous's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That kind of excersize will strengthen your core muscles if done right. When I was younger and took Kung Fu my teacher was married to a thai chi master and he was amazing to watch. On the next note if you drink caffeinated coffee that will dehydrate you so you need to drink more water. Have fun with the class though it will get tougher -

I have to add my thoughts to this one. I'm 4 months out and have lost 80 pounds ( stalling right now due to TOM). I do have an occasional sweet usually mini reeses cup me and my hubby keep in the freezer. Im also part of a wine club and love to drink wine. I go about once a month to a wine tasting and my husband and I usually have a glass of red for dinner. I don't count calories and just listen to my body what it needs food wise. I do find that since I eat so little I do make much better food choices. I eat more fish since it has more protein and always make sure to drink plenty of water. If I drink wine I have extra water to make up for the alcohol. This surgery is the best decision I've ever made for myself and as a self pay the money I spent was well worth it. I've never felt better and since I'm eating so much healthier my husband has also lost 40 pounds since I've inspired him. Make sure you do plenty of your own research and don't blindly follow the advice of a NUT. I've picked up books to read and like to make my own decisions based on a wide range of facts. Best of luck to ya!

What the heck! 12 days post op and gained 2 lbs
dlflightgirl replied to fastdogs2's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
For me I stalled at 2 weeks for about 2 weeks. Don't worry. Just follow doctors orders and the weight will come off. I was on clear liquids for a full 2 weeks then liquid yogurt for another 2 weeks. I didn't start mushy foods for a while. Good luck -
For those of you 3 months or more out...
dlflightgirl replied to Ready4aNewLife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's been 4 months since my surgery and I could not have imagines such a drastic change. I've lost 80 pounds so far. I started at 330 pounds and I'm currently at 250. my clothing went from a size 26/28 to a 18 on the bottom and Large/XL on top. It feels fantastic to walk into any store and know that those clothes will fit you without have to go to a plus size section. Everything feels like it's a positive as I had no issues with my surgery. After the first two days I was no longer taking any pain pills and was able to return to work the next week. My advice is to walk walk walk after surgery, the more you do the better you feel. The only negative thing for me right now is that I cant have any beer however I've established a love for wine I didn't knew I had ( no gas). I eat anything I want the portion is just so much smaller. My husband has been the best support I could've asked for and I hope you have someone like that in your life. Good luck -

Job Interview...Should I mention I'm having surgery
dlflightgirl replied to imawhodat's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just tell them due to previous obligations you couldn't start till (enter date here). If they know your currently unemployed tell them it's a one time family obligation or if you are working then that's the notice you need to give. If you do mention surgery I wounldnt say what type. Either way good luck om your surgery and the interview. -

Where are my Flirty Thirties?
dlflightgirl replied to travelchick's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Class of 95 here. Never been to a reunion and probably never will. High school was so not my thing. However I have lost 75 pounds since my surgery on Feb, 7th. Can't believe how fast it's gone by. Life is much better now than it ever was then. -
So my schedule between work and the pt (due to car accident) has been super busy. It's a little less than 4 months but I've hit my 70 pound loss already. I started at 330 pounds so I still have a long way to go but it feels so wonderful to be normal. Im sorry to say I don't count calories and I pretty much eat whatever I want but since I eat so little i make much better choices. I've started to play tennis with my husband and even purchases a used elliptical that I love. I'm only 2 pounds over my husband and can't wait till I weigh less than him. I started with a size 26/28 and to my amazement I acidently put the wrong size uniform in my bag to change after pt and I fit into an 18 petite. I could not believe it. I ordered that size for the future after my seemstress said she could no longer take in any of my other uniform pants since they would lose the pockets. Ive also found 2 boxes of clothes from when I was smaller so I haven't had to do any major shopping. Another NSV is that I can know wear all my beautiful heals and sandals since my foot has gotten smaller. Everyone at work knows I've had the surgery but they are all so supportive of me and tell me what a great job I'm doing and they even say they're jealous of me. Haha. They've nicked named me skinny which is funny cause I'm still a pretty big girl at 260 but ive lost by double chin and no longer run out of breath just walking around my job. This surgery has to have been the best investment I've ever done for myself and i love reading all the other success stories. So to all the sleeve sisters and brothers out there WE ROCK!

Seriously girls, how much better is sex?
dlflightgirl replied to Rainydayz's topic in The Gals' Room
I've only lost around 65-70 pounds but it makes a huge difference. My big belly isn't in the way anymore. It's a much smaller belly. And most of my rolls are gone. I can now be on top and it feels great. My husband and I are acting like a bunch of teenagers -
Eggs are hit or miss. I can do a hard egg but get really sick with scrambled eggs. I've tried twice and given up on them for now.
