WOW!! Welcome to onderland!! I am doing the HAPPY DANCE right along with you !! Glad to hear you are doing so GREAT!! I am 5' 7" and my Dr. put my goal weight at 155 lbs. Last Drs. visit a month and a half ago he said he see's no reason why i should'nt be able to make it to goal. So I am gonna try! I am about 10 lbs away as of today! I was in a size 32 jeans at my heaviest and now I can wear a pair of size 12 what I call "Skinny" jeans. Have a great week and continued success on your weight loss journey. I LOVE my SLEEVE!!

I was at a seminar awhile ago and there was a speaker who was talking about how to figure how many actual carbs are in a food Item. Lets say the calorie count was 160 calories, and 10 grams of Fiber, and 10 grams of sugar alcohols , and had 24 carbs. Does that mean you can subtract the 10 grams fiber and 10 grams of sugar alcohols = 4 grams of actual carbs for that item?? Cuz she gave me the impression you could subtract fiber grams and sugar alcohols and whats left was the actual carbs that the item contains. Does anyone know the formula for figuring the actual carb count of food items. If so I would appreciate a reply. I would like to have a snack inbetween the small meals that I eat now after the sleeve, like a Protein bar of some sort but the carb count is what scares me away from buying them. Thanks in all for your help on this support site. I really get alot of usefull information from all the helpful people.

Thanks all for your responses they have been very helpful. I am about 10 lbs from my goal and was thinking about adding in some bars for an inbetween snack. Kinda wanna think about trying to maintain prettty soon but I also don't want to get into the habit of eating too many carbs either. I think I might try some of the Atkins snack bars they seem pretty reasonable with the carbs. I sure appreciate everyones help. Thanks again.

is this protein powder ok? Sleeved in two weeks!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!
Diane replied to italianlady13's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I would like to know the brand please and where did you purchase it - it sounds interesting to me. Thanks! -
I don't know if this will help or not. But I was reading the Atkins For A New You diet book and it mentioned in there that if you make sure you are getting some salt in your diet it will keep you from getting that dissy and fainting feeling from your calories being so restricted. Hope this helps. Have a good week.

I am 4 1/2 months post-op and have a great NSV to share with you all. I was shopping at Wal-mart tonite when I turned the corner looking for something for my granddaughter when I ran into a co-worker from maybe 15 years ago. She looked at me took a double take and said "Diane you look great"!! Well we were standing there having a casual conversation and she kept looking at me, and looking at me and finally she said "I'm sorry that I keep looking at you but you look so great"!! "I just can't get over how good you look and you look 20 years younger"!!! WOW was my reply you don't need to say you are sorry you made my day!! Needless to say this big smile of mine isn't coming off my face for the rest of the day for sure!! And this from a woman who hasn't been more than 10 lbs. overweight for her entire fifty some years. Have a good rest of the day everyone I know I will. LOLS

1 Month Post-op - Advice Appreciated
Diane replied to Blessed&Broken's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too think that your are doing great!! I am 4 months and 1 week post-op and I find that when the scale stalls it is fustraing also. But usually what seems to be happening with me is I notice that I am losing inches, cuz I can fit in smaller size clothing even though the number on the scale isn't moving. And sometimes I will stall and be the same for a week and then the next week when I do my weight-in I suddenly drop like 4 lbs. So hang in there kiddo!! We certaintly didn't get fat in a week and we sure aren't gonna get skinny in a week either I guess. LOLS. But it seems to me that your are doing just fine. It will be worth all the agony in the long run because this time the weightloss is for KEEPS!! Thanks to our amazing new TOOL!!!! -

On my 3rd week stall... so Disappointed :(
Diane replied to Starry's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with apple-saucy !! I thik u r doing gre8t - when I went to see my surgeon at my 2 month check I had lost 34 lbs in 2 months. I asked how I was doing cuz I thought I should be losing faster. His response was if you were a rny patient I would expect u to lose 33 lbs in 3 months and you have lost 34 lbs in 2 months - you are doing great. Because supposedly RNY patients lose weight faster. So if you are asking me I think you are doings just FINE!! Keep up the GRE8T WORK!! -

With spring & summer right around the corner - should be alot of rummage sales - I just got a cute pair of white capri's & a cute top for under $3.00 and you can stock up on items in smaller sizes really easily this way.

I take 3 stool softeners a day everyday, without any problems, I go about every 3 days and it works great for me. Otherwise I don't seem to be able to go. And i just take the store generic brand when they are on sale. Have a great week!

What are your makeover plans?
Diane replied to crosswind's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I whole heartedly agree with ya ThatDudesMom! I would also like a tummy tuck and whatever it takes to get rid of my "BatWings" LOLS! I went for a PostOp 3 month check-up the nurse said did you get to the support group meeting with the plastic surgeon? I said No was still laid up from surgery! She exclaimed well at Aurora BayCare we have a total body lift! How much I ask? Only $18,000 - not covered by insurance! I said OH SURE!! like thats gonna ever happen for me LOLS. Sounds great though!! I am 56 years old - but I am still gonna wait I think 2 years to see IF anything snaps back! "positive thinking" can't hurt can it ? Then I will decide if I want to bother fixing anything. Right now I am just happy that everything LOOKS good in clothes! LOLS Have a great rest of the week and a good weekend. -
I was wondering what kind of Protein Bars you buy? Do they taste good? And how many calories and carbs do the bars contain? I was thinking about getting some for inbetween Snacks to keep up on my protein. I know this is alot of questions but actually have 1 more. What stores do you purchase these bars at. If not too many carbs/calories I would like to get some. Thanks !! Also great job on your weightloss!!
