4 & 1/2 Weeks Post-Op And Having Major Nausea
mnbsleeve replied to ecipolla's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm no doctor... but it may be too much exercise too soon! I was not cleared for intense cardio till about week 6! I was encouraged to walk daily and move but not at a high intensity level. Also, like the poster above, I was not cleared for mushies till week 6! When I did start mushies, it was a very slow process; literally a table spoon or so = a meal! lol. I would check with my doctor just to be sure. But it may just be that your body wants you to slow down a little bit while it's still healing. I sure hope you feel better soon!!! Please post and let us know how your'e doing!!!! -

5 Days Post Op And Doing Well!
mnbsleeve replied to caiti_marie00's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Caiti!!! I loved your post! I am glad you are doig well. Each day from here gets better and better. I think you have a great attitude!!! I also struggled with smell in the begining. Also taste!!! Two of the biggest challenges for me were that I became lactose intolarant and my sense of smell was just so intense. I am happy to say that both gradually went away - the sense of smell more quickly - and now I am just back to the way I was... Oh but 82 pounds lighter and with a smaller capacity for food :-) well more energy too! .. and other good things ... but that's another post LOL Congratulations beautiful lady!!! Enjoy your family and looking forward to reading about your progress!!!! -
Woo Hoo!!!!! How awesome!!! So enjoy the hec out of this jacket cause very, very soon... it's going to be HUGE!!!! LOL Congratulations!!!

Back To Work Tomorrow....

Don't underestimate the effect of using those stairs. Just 10 to 15 minutes of climbing will get your heart pumping and do wonders for your butt :-) But just be carefull not to overdo!!! You're only 3 weeks out and you need to heal. So take it slow. I like Pookeyism's idea of tapes too. For me anthing with music works. Good luck with work!!! and congrats!!! -

Can I Be Dehydrated If I'm Getting In 80-96Oz Of Fluids Per Day?
mnbsleeve replied to AliveAgain's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not a doctor nor have any medical background so I couldn't comment one way or another another about dehydration per se. But I am wondering if you need some blood work. Could it be related to the potassium? I would definitely talk to MD to see what's up. I can't imagine that is is related to dehydration since you take in so much fluid... again, I'm no md. Sending good thoughts your way. Please keep us posted! -
Congratulations Pookeyism!!!! What a great NSV and what a great friend!!! Love the pic. You look awesome!!!! and sooooo happy!!! High five!!!

Mari, congratulations on all your progress!!!! I'm also trying to get to 125lbs. I always share on this board that I've been one of those people that have stalled and dropped, stalled and dropped.... even thought I keep consistent with food/exercise/fluid. I think some of us are like that. For me the main thing is that I am losing the weight!!! It's soooo HARD when I am stalled though! But I just tell myself it will pass and I focus on what I need to do. Don't let it discourage you. It looks like you are doing GREAT! Keep up the good work kiddo! Oh, BTW, like you, there are some foods that I just have an aversion to. So I just don't eat them. I eat the ones that feel right. So it could be that the eggs and bacon are just not for you right now. It may change as time goes by.

Protein Powder In Orange Juice...
mnbsleeve replied to VJSlim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I purchased a blender called "Magic Bullet" you can order it on-line. It makes all my shakes really nicely, including those to which I add a little fruit or ice -- or both! You can drink it right out of the jar it's mixed in and it has a lid so if you don't finish the entire shake, it's easy to store. Glad the orange juice worked out. Forensikchick had suggested it to me when I just could not get another milk/water shake down. It's made a huge difference. I have tried the coffee too and I use a vanilla flavor for that one. -
