This may be a little lame, but it sure lifted my spirits! After my shower yesterday I needed to run into the laundry room. In the past I've run to the bedroom to look for my robe or threw on some sweats and a t-shirt - basically had to dress. On a whim yesterday I grabbed a REGULAR SIZE TOWEL and wrapped it around me!!!!!! WHOA NILLY!!!!! It worked!!!! It wrapped all the way around!!!!!! AND IT STAYED ON TUCKED ALL BY ITSELF!!! I skipped to the laundry room and then all around the house in my towel!!! I did not know how uplifting a stinkin towel could be! I don't remember the last time I was able to do this!!!! I wish I could have worn it to work LOL ....okay maybe not..... white is not my color Best wishes to all!!!!

Thank you both! and YOU WILL GET THERE!!!! I'm just now really experiencing some of the great things I only read about before. I wasn't always sure I would be here and I am so thrilled. I know you both will also have wonderful experiences - NSVs and SVs!!!! -
Hi ladies, I was just wondering if any one could comment on their experiences with their menstrual cycle after surgery. I had a check up, including hormone check, right before my surgery. I am 48 and in perimenopause but my hormones were still okay and my cycles have been regular and "normal." I had one normal cycle after surgery and then they stopped, rather a very light almost nonexistant off schedule cycle and then no more. I am looking for a new GYN to follow up since my usual is not supportive of my sleeve. But in the meantime I was wondering if anyone is willing to share some imput. I would appreciate your thougths and comments. Thanks!

Question for ladies
mnbsleeve replied to mnbsleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you so much ladies. It sounds like this is pretty common. I don't get in to see me MD for another couple of weeks. I'll post anything I may learn. Thank you again! -

Lost too much weight - ha ha
mnbsleeve replied to 2BSkinny's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I always chuckle at these posts but, seriously, it's not so funny! It's happened to me!!!! LOL Sometimes it has felt like overnight nothing fits... because it's huge! It's so weird! It reminds me of when my kids were growing up and it felt like they grew a couple of inches over night and all their clothes were outgrown! I am always amazed at the human body and it's ability to morph! Happy shopping everyone! :-) -
how long is the 3 week stall?
mnbsleeve replied to Sassygirl06's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
MIne was a good 4 weeks as well. But, as already has been said, hang in there! It starts to come off!!!! I tend to get big drops after the stalls, especially after that first one. I think the body is in total confusion as to what to do LOL. With the support of the people on this board, I focused on nutrition, fluids, and doing what I was suppose to do.. oh and deep breathing for my impatience :-) Best of luck with your journey!!!! -
Congratulations Volstagg!!! I look forward to reading about some healthy recipe ideas for sleevers

So, any "post partum" for those who've reached goal?
mnbsleeve replied to Rootman's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I think this issue is difficult because we live in such a body conscious society! We've had issues with fat but all around us everyone obsesses over dimples on the thighs, not enough muscle, not flat enough tummy, not big enough chest... etc. Models, athletes, actors... that's all everyone/media/magazines etc. seems to focused on: body issues. We will not be free of it in the sense that no one is free of if unless we make a consciouls choice not to be sucked in. I think that's what "skinny" people deal with. As "fat people" we've had specific issues related to the fat, but then there are all those others that are just part of our culture. -
Met surgeon, not sure of his practice, need your thoughts
mnbsleeve replied to InterplanetJanet's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with your husband and with Kristey above. I would DEFINITELY check out the other MD! Your first loyalty is with yourself and your health. Like Kristey said, you'll be having to deal with the staff alot. Should somethinge ever come up, which most likely it won't, you could frankly say that you were uncomfortable at the level of response and treatment. I think the surgeon would be glad to know if his staff is causing him to loose patients. Remember: this is a very HOT business right now. It's hard to say this but it's the truth. Lots of money is being made with sleeves. This is our health and our lives and no one has as much invested in it. Insurances, doctors, etc, when push comes to shove they mind thier stores. Sorry to be so practical here. I did not use my insurance so avoid the hassles. I was fortunate to be able to do this (cleaned us out though :-) ) But I was treated like royalty the whole time. Staff "worked for me" as it should be. Good doctors are not threatened by patient's self advocacy and second opinons! In fact, they expect it and hold us to it!!! I hope this helps. Pay for the other consult if you have to. So worth it in the end if it reasures whatever decision you make. Hope you get some zzzzz's :-) -
My very first NSV :-)

I finally started going down again. (I'm the one who always complains about all the stall and drops!) I'm so excited I am just 5.5 Lbs from onederland!!! I hope I don't stall here too long! :-)

I stopped taking the Armour when I had my surgery and have not resumed. I have Hashimotos. I will be seing my MD soon and will resume the meds. What was your experience?! I'm so sorry to hear about your reaction!!!!! Hope you're doing well now!!!!

Anyone else still "see" themselves at their old weight?!!
mnbsleeve replied to VSGandMe2011 (DisneyMomma)'s topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Wow, funny I found this post! I saw some before and after pics on a post and was feeling like I haven't really changed much yet and looking forward to looking a little thinner myself!!! I've lost *only* 39* lbs. I decided to pull up some old fotos and, WOW, I do look smaller!!!!! I just actually started a folder with a progresion of pics. I decided to add one pic per month or so just to keep me grounded!!!! I do still think of my self and see myself the same as when I started. But even though I have a long way to go, just the 40 or so lbs. really do show!!! and I do feel the difference too. It's weird how our minds work. -
