  5. ONNNNNNNNEEDDEERRRRRRRRRLLAAANNNNNNNNDD!!!!! I am thrilled to have reached onederland! I have not been here for at least a decade! The first 40 pounds to come off after VSG have been off and back on several times over the years. But I am finally past that point and I could not believe it! Last week I posted a NSV about a towel and finally felt like I too was experiencing some of the successes I was reading that others experienced. It really helped me start to believe that I too could succeed with this. Now at onederland, I am beyond excited and really feel I CAN reach goal. I am getting lots of comments from people on the way I look, no only about my weight, but about looking happy and healthy, etc. I think my increased confidence is showing. I feel so liberated from from the constant negative background chatter that told me that no matter what I accomplish I am such a failure. It is THE BIGGEST WEIGHT this VSG has lifted. I have a ways to go but I really believe I will ge there. Thank you all for your posts, stories and encouraging messages. They have really helped me stay focused, helped commiserate in the downs, and have uplifted my spirits when I needed it. Best wishes to everyone on this journey! May the pounds continue to fall off!!! -- and stay off for those of you in maintenance! Below, evidence

Creamy Edamame, Lime, and Coconut Soup

Thank you Soup! Great article. I like the idea of the Beans in the pumpking soup. The apple, onion cheddar recipe also looks good. I'll stay tuned to see what else you come up with
  9. It definitely gets better. I had quite a bit of gurgling the first few weeks, less and less as time goes on. Now at almost 4 months out, I will get some gurgling with certain foods and it's much more mild. So hang in there. It definitely gets much better. Congrats on your sleeve!!!

    NOT losing weight!

Hang in there NewKat! Lots of us go through this. I have two to three weeks stalls regularly! Especially in the begining! But then there's a big drop. Sometimes they are little drops, several in a row. I've been stuck for four weeks as well. Recently I've been "stuck" right at onederland's door! :-) I know it's super frustrating but it seems from everything I've read here and what I have experienced myself that this is pretty normal and part of the process. Don't despair. I focus on my nutrition, fluids and exercise. Somehow the clothes keep getting bigger and I'm looking better. So as hard as it is, don't freak about the scale. I'm sure others here will post more. Hang in there!!!! Sending good thoughts your way!
  18. Welcome to the losers bench!!!! So glad you are doing well. I was like you. No complications and pretty much sailed through and it's been down hill from there (in a good way). I'm so happy with my sleeve and my progress. I still struggle getting my Proteins in but that's in part because I have a lactose intolerance and most shakes really bother me as well. But overall it's been wonderful. I say all this because I too had, and sometimes still have, that "waiting for the other shoe to drop" thoughs and feelings. That's when I come to the board!!! and get my "postive thoughts fix." LOL Good things can happen! Best of luck. Looking forward to reading about all your progress!!!!

    I was sleeved mondy!

Your feelings are pretty normal. I think a lot of us go through them. I know I did and I got a lot of support on this board. It's a difficult decision to make but most of us, if not all of us, don't get there lightly. We've considered all of our experiences and what we went through to get here. It's a pretty radical choice, and one that many people still don't understand and even criticize. Even many in the medical profession! So it's probably quite normal for doubts to creep in here and there. I really like the way Mr. Smith above detailed his reasons. Sometimes we need to do that to remind ourselves and not get bogged down with the negative thoughts that sneak in! I will share that the day of surgery, as I was getting my IV put in, I had this urge to run out straight to my car and drive home and just forget the whole thing!!! LOL I think the only thing that kept me there was the fact I was wearing a hospital gown... and I didn't want to show everyone my butt!!! LOL Best of luck on your journey. Enjoy all your successes!!!
  22. You look fantastic!!!!!! It's hard to believe what a huge difference just three months makes!!! I am also a "Jewel of June" -- in the begining I often felt like maybe these big changes I read about others may not happen for me. But it seems that something great happens around the three month mark. Maybe it's the greater comfort with the sleeve itself, settling in to it, coupled with the much more noticeable weight loss.... I just don't know. But what a great feeling!!!! CONGRATULATIONS to you. You look incredible!!!!!
