I'm new to this website because I felt like I was going through this alone. My name is Megan, I'm 18, and I got the lapband on April 28, 2011 at Corpus Christi's Driscoll Children's Hospital. I came home on April 29 and since this, my shoulder's still sore, along with my back stiffening a few times. I think I have to stay home tomorrow. Is there any tips anyone might have to get rid of the shoulder pains? Cause they seem to get worse even though I walk as much as I can do before it gets dark or I get in too much pain and take pain medication right after Anyways, I just want to get to be with other people who got it around the same time as me

don't cancel your surgery, have them wait so you can recover. They HAVE to accomadate for you since it IS a major surgery Tell them you will have to wait until you're less sore and have an easier eating schedule

My name is Megan Sotelo. I'm 18 years old, in the 11th grade. I weighed 330 pounds when I started the program a year and a half ago and pre-op surgery, I was at 315 pounds. I plan to be below 300 pounds after the first month. I just got the lapband three days ago and I feel like no one really knows the pain I'm going through and how much of a burden I feel like or what I feel I CAN eat or do. I would like to talk to someone that can help me learn when to tell when I've reached my limits, tips for pain, and different positions to sit and lie down. I'd prefer to have a male mentor because I get along better with men since I always live with my father and my brother.
