3 days in. Still no real issues. Some gas pain in my neck and shoulders but wasn't to bad. Able to get up and move around and that helped. Went to the movies yesterday. sleeping better. All in all..so far so good.

I got banded on Friday and I have had a couple of Sugar Free Life Savers. I just make sure to suck them down to almost nothing and make sure to only have 1 or 2 a day. Just kind of helps break things up a bit.

Funny, I got banded on Friday and I am currently on the clear liquid and I feel fine. I even went to the movies today and my wife eating popcorn didn't bother me at all. Smuggled in some Jello and I was good to go. I am just drinking constantly and I am drinking various soups that I strain so I am able to have different flavors. I think if you are drinking the same things all the time you will tend to get bored so try switching it up...I am allowed coffee and tea at this stage and that seems to help. Talk to your doc and see if you can add something with a tad more substance.

Jenn, I understand that scared feeling. I too never had surgery before until this past Friday when I got banded. It wasn't bad at all. I didn't even have to stay the night. It is normal to be scared. I was. I was so nervous. I started freaking myself out. Just calm down. When people ask me if I was scared to have the surgery, I always reply that I am more scared to live with Diabetes and Hypertension for the rest of my life. You are doing the right thing for your health. Good luck and stay strong.

Thank you guys. It was hard to sleep last night due to the fact I am a stomach sleeper and I can't really do that right now. Was able to get a few hours on my side. Not to bad. Mainly just abdomen pain from where they went in. Other than that, so far so good...hope this liquid vicodin helps with that.

I live in a Asian part of Los Angeles and we have tons a of great Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, etc, places here. I get banded tomorrow and I was thinking of using Pho (just the broth not the noodles) as my main liquid for the first week. It is clear and it is a lot better tasting than just regular chicken broth. Anyone know of any issues or familiar with the dish?

I got my Blood Pressure in check. That was the only thing holding me back. Now my General Physician signed off and I am not good to go for Friday's procedure with Dr. Coon at Parkview Hospital in Riverside. Wish me luck!! Over a year of prep work, for a hour and half procedure that will give me a new lease on life.

I am all congested. Been taking Nyquil but the surgeons office suggested I don't tonight because of surgery in the morning. I hope I feel better tomorrow. I don't need this postponed. I just want to get it over with!!

My surgery is this Friday too. I am on Liquid Protein shakes and my doc is letting us doctor them up a bit with splenda, banana, peanut butter, etc. We also get to have a 300 calorie meal. Been doing this for about 10 days now. Down about 5 lbs. already. So far so good. 2 more days to go. Good LUCK!!!!

So now my general isn't signing off on my surgery. He is concerned about my Blood Pressure. I have an appointment to see him tomorrow. I have been taking all my meds, but I don't think my BP is where he would want it yet. I was able to get my BP down over the summer using a drug called Exforge but my insurance dropped it from it's formulary. Now I am on the 3 drugs that made up Exforge and hoping my BP drops enough so that he will sign me off tomorrow for my surgery on May 13th. If he doesn't, then it is going to be a another few weeks or so as I work on bringing my BP down to a level that he will be happy with. UGH!!! Wish me luck.

Congrats. Glad you are healing well and things are good. I am having mine done on Friday. I hope to be feeling good in a week just like you

Thank you for all the BP vibes. It must of worked. Went down to 147 today. Now I just gotta be a little better for my GP tomorrow. My surgeon is fine with my BP...it is just my general that wants it down even more.
