About Me
Hi everyone~
A little about me: I am a mother, grandmother and wife. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in Oct 2008 and have really struggled with my weight since then. I have always been overweight - now I am 'morbidly obese'. It disgusts me, scares me and I worry about my health. I feel the weight on my joints and my breathing. I have asthma induced from the Celiac Disease.
My father died young (50) from a heart attack and I have always worried about that for me. I am in good health otherwise. No high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol -- but I am on the cusp of all of it. I see doctors constantly becuase I feel awful and them to not be able to find anything. I think that medically there is something going on - inflamation or the sorts. Funny, with all of the doctors / specialists I see and have seen in the last 4 years, nobody has addressed my weight. Not one of them said I should see a nutrionist or dietician because my weight is a concern. My BMI: 44 Wgt: 204 Ht: 4'11"
I addressed it with my GI doctor a few weeks back. I have an appointment May 26th for a consult with a Bariatric Surgeon to see if this is something for me, that I want to pursue. I am not worried about not eating alot -- I dont eat a lot now. My diet is very restrictive with the Celiac Disease and on top of that I also have a soy allergy.
I am looking at this from all angles. I dont have enough weight to lose to do gastric bypass.
Any insight into what I can expect is great. Would love to hear from someone with food allergies. I am nervous about proper nutrition with my CD and Soy allergy = having the band.
