Ladies, I need your help
Shea replied to LVikingFan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How about breakfast in bed, and a nice dinner in the yard with a table, candles, flowers, music, wine, and dance under the stars. For women it's the little things that mean so much, and create best memories. Happy Anniversary! -
Good luck. Keep us posted as soon as you feel up to it.

Honey I understand how you feel. I understand how your husband feels as well. His job requiring him to be employeed with them for five years is crazy. When you find another job then maybe you could look into getting it again. Do you have retirement you could borrow from, or even a credit union they have awesome interest rates. In the mean time just keep reaffirming your husband that this is just bump in the road, and not the end of the course. I'm sorry for all that your family is going through but I know that things will come together again. I'm glad that you've remained positive during all of this because that's sometimes the biggest challenge. It seems like your relationship is solid, so this is nothing you two can't get through together and become even stronger in the end. This will be a testimony that you can help someone else in the future who may be going through the same thing. Keep on shining girly!!

Nearly 11 Mos Post Op - With Photos
Shea replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You look grrrrrrrrrr8!!!!!! You have the cutest shape. When I look at your before picture I'm just amazed! I am your before picture and all I can do is pray that my results are as good as yours. I think you're a perfect size, and you look very proportionate and healthy. That's what I want. Your skin is beautiful and I see no flab anywhere, you must have good genes honey!! You are really rock'n that sleeve and I can't wait to see more pictures!!!!!!:Banane07: -
I'm not going to let you have it. Frankly I agree with you. I dont have the sleeve yet, but still I believe in being clean and feminine. To me there's a difference in being overweight and sloppy, and being over weight and clean, confident, and cute. I wouldnt be attracted to someone who didn't care about themselves either. I understand she has an issue with eating, but sometimes we dont listen to the signs from our loved ones. You gave her signs that you wanted her to get healthy, you wanted her to care about herself more. She didnt listen and gave excuses to why she didnt want to help herself, or tried and couldnt keep it going. The truth of the matter is, until we are tired of our ways we wont do anything about it. When someone doesnt have it in their minds to change all their efforts are just temporary fixes to a permanant problem. The only thing you can change is you, and your choice was not to continue to live with that type of person. You werent married, there was no vows, so you made the right decision for you. Personally before I went to college and graduated, I settled for less than I deserved because I felt I didnt have the right to desire something I didnt have myself, but once I finished school, got a career, cleared my credit, bought a home, and started doing better for myself, I desired a man with education, a decent job, and aspirations as well. I dont want somone who has no goals or ambitions because soon our differences will come between us; unless he allows me to help him come up to a better level. If people are set to stay where they are and never strive for more then the only thing we can do is change us, and say I'm sorry but I have to go. This is just my opinion but I dont think what you did was wrong. You can't make a person change, they have to change themselves otherwise their change wont last.

Some things I learned from my surgeon yesterday about VSG that I had never heard before
Shea replied to Anakin Jay's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wow this is truly interesting. It makes so much sense to me. This has also made me more sure that getting the sleeve is perfect for me. I may even print this page and let others see it so they can understand why I want the sleeve so bad and what could happen if I continue to overeat without help. Thank you so much for this. -

NOT STAYING ON 6 MONTH DIET
Shea replied to TheSweetesThing84's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am in the same exact place as you. I keep losing and gaining the same 5 lbs. I hate going to my doctor and getting weighed because I know she'll be disappointed. I'm 4 months in my 6 month diet. It's so hard. What happened last time was I was on my period when I went in and of course we gain water weight during that time. I told her I was a few pounds lighter than what the scale revealed which i actually was. She was okay with that and recorded the weight I told her I was. She then said "well I guess every time you come in from now on, you'll probably will be on your period and we as women gain 2-10 lbs on our periods so just keep me posted on your actual weight". So I hope I'm on my period again so I can just give her a number and she'll record that for the sake of the diet. My insurance representative said they arent interested in how much weight I lose or dont lose they want to see if I'm willing to be diligent about going to the doctor on a regular basis. I understand the reasoning behind the 6 month diets but it's also very hard. I'd much rather have to be made to go to a class that actually helped with my mental issues with food because diets for me dont work, if they did I wouldnt be hitting almost 300 pounds. Anyway, I hope it works out for you! -
That's funny my insurance company didnt tell me the details either. I went on humana's website, then scrolled down to the morbid obesity page of coverage. They had information but still didnt mention specifically the sleeve so I called the bariatric office here in town and asked if they ever work with patients that had UK PPO, and if they covered the sleeve. They told me Humana covers the sleeve with patients a BMI of 50 or more. I was irritated with the insurance company, if the details are not specific you can't make an informed decision. I think that's crazy you have to be enrolled before getting information, its information on surgery not info on how to build a bomb. I just dont get it.... I'm glad you're getting your surgery and Congrats on doing so well on your pre-op diet.

6 Month Comparison
Shea replied to To Be Thin 2011's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Girl let me tell ya, you dont look like you weighed l the amount you say you started at. I can't tell you were over 300 lbs. You carry your weight well honey. You look great now too. I'm impressed with the 80+ pounds in six months. I would be thrilled to lose that much in six months. You look wonderful. If family and friends dont comment, please know it's jealousy. People dont hate on things they have themselves, it's what they wish they had they tend to hate. Girl strut your stuff proudly and keep paying it forward for those of us that will be sleeved soon. -
Congrats on being sleeved and doing well. I'm sure it's better being home. I think they should come up with better tasting medicine or have no flavor at all. Keep us posted on your progress! I know you will do awesome!!!!
-
I'm glad they didnt reschedule your surgery and you're doing well. i'm looking forward to reading your update. Please be detailed. CONGRATS!!!!!!

I hope all went well and you're resting. I hope you post updates soon. Congrats on getting sleeved!

i got approved through them but havnt used my card yet since I havn't had the surgery yet. I heard some horror stories about them but without their credit I wouldnt be able to get their surgery. I hope they cool down on the harrassing calls, that's annoying especially at work.
