Hello All! Well it is band day for me!!!! I am nervous and excited. I guess this explains why I am up and on the computer at 12:30 a.m. on surgery day. Just wanted to get one more look at the boards and tell everyone thanks for the well wishes and prayers. They are much appreciated. Good luck to my fellow March 2nd banders hlayne, annalee, mommakitty3, and wilma. I hope I didn't leave any one out. Thanks for the encouragement. I'll post again when I am an official Bandster! Teresa

Hey All! As you can see I am up at midnight the night before surgery. I needed one last look at the boards. Thanks so much for the well wishes and prayers. They are much appreciated. I am not really nervous, just a little scared, but excited to start my new life. I had about an hour today that I indulged in the what ifs and self doubt, but I snapped out of it. I know this is the right decision for me. It makes me realize what brave women you are to have gone through this. It takes alot of courage to take charge of your lives. Thanks again. My surgery is at noon, I'll post again when I am an official bandster.

Well Biker Girl, We are on our way to Band Land. Sending prayers your way for tomorrow, send some to me on friday. To all of our Band sisters on the lower BMI thread, I am raising my protein shake in a toast to the kind, supportive, smart, and soon to be thinner band sisters. May we all be big FAT losers in 2007. Truely you guys are a great source of inspiration. I don't post that often, but I read the posts everyday. I have learned so much, and really feel more prepared. Thanks Guys! Good Luck Tomorrow Biker Girl. Teresa

Hello March Bandsters !!! Well the train to Bandland is pulling out in the morning! All March Bandsters get on board! This is sooo exciting! You guys are all smart (you wouldn't spend so much time researching this procedure and hanging out on this board if you were not highly intelligent individuals) brave, beautiful and motivated band sisters. I raise my protien shake and offer a toast to my fellow March Band Sisters and say cheers to you, and may we all be big FAT losers in 2007. Teresa

Hello All! This preop diet is driving me nuts. I started it last thursday. First couple of days were nerve wracking and then Sunday I think I had a mini nervous breakdown. I knew I was starving to death, didn't want to have the surgery, really wanted to eat ... everything..., it won't work anyway, everything I could imagine ran through my head. Mon. was a whole new ballgame though. I feel better. I just needed to regroup. The diet is going well, it's not really all that restrictive. I think most of my woes were stress related. Anyway I think I'm back from crazy land. 1 more week to go. I did get my surgery date today. March 2nd. It's OFFICIAL !!!

Audree, Hi! I have been following this thread since you started, and you actually replied to my introduction to LBT. I feel like we are old friends. Your research and advice have been so helpful both in making my decision to have the band, and being more comfortable in what to expect. To all of the ladies in this thread, thank you for your honesty in discussing your journey into your new lives. No one's experience is exactly the same and it is by this complete letting it all out there that we are able to help each other. This web site has been a God send. It is great to read, and share, and know that the other person really gets it. I look forward to your posts, and will be joining you in band land March 2nd. Well, just wanted to introduce myself. Thanks, Teresa

Hello All, I am so happy to be getting banded as part of your group. You all sound like a great bunch! So positive and supportive! Which after the banding I'm sure I will be trying to soak up like a sponge. LOL! I have to laugh to keep from crying. I too am a little nervous, but at the same time excited. I started my preop diet on Thursday 2-15. Protien drinks 3 times a day, and 1 high protien low fat meal consisting of a meat and a green vegetable. Not too bad. Funny how the preops differ so much. I am waiting on my letter from insurance to come this week. I have been aproved, but my doc uses 2 different surgery centers. Depending on which center insurance aproves, my surgery will be either March 1st or March 2nd. I will check back in when I get my confirmation. Hasve a great week everyone! Teresa

I'm excited for you too! Congrats and best of luck! I will keep you in my prayers, I am a pending Feb. bandster, so I will be checking in with you on the Feb. Bandster thread. GOOD LUCK !!! -
I am a different kind of nervous about this surgery. I think it is because it is my decision. It's not like when the doctor said you have to have a hysterectomy, and you say well ok, if my life depends on it, and they wheel you in. Well my life does depend on it. I just have to remind myself of that. My health has already been affected with diabetes, and hypertension. Both parents and 2 siblings have had heart attacks at early ages, and these people are not obese. Not to mention the quality of life. Let me share with the people that said that they are young and struggling with the decision. I am 46, not young but hardly an old timer. My son is getting married and the bride to be wants to do a slide show, and asked for pictures of my son throughout the different stages of his life. I spent the weekend going through pictures, and realized that although I made the best of it, I have carried these same extra 70 pounds his entire life. That is 27 years of lugging around 70+ pounds. This has to be a personal decision that you have to live with, but if had known then that I would not be able to get the weight off, or had the wisdom to put myself first, or even on the list, I would be a whole lot happier and healthier than the woman typing today. Well I can't go back and change the past, but I can take control of my future. I am not going to sit back and wait for the heart attack, I am going to pray alot, ask for God's guidence in my decision, and his peace when they roll me in. Then at my son's wedding next year I am going to dance like a fool! Thanks for letting me get these things off of my heart. This is the place where I know that the person you're talking to gets it. Best of luck to everyone on your Journey. 2 days til Feb. God bless! Thanks, Teresa

Hello All! Please add me as a pending Feb. bandster. I called the Dr. today, and all of the paperwork has been submited to the insurance company. The insurance company has 30 days to make their decision, but a previous call to them told me that it is a covered surgery under my plan. I hope this will speed up the process, but I'm not counting on it. I will update you when I get my aproval and surgery date. I am so nervous and excited, but I feel like I am in Limbo Land. This site is keeping me busy, so that helps. Everyone here is so great! Thanks, Teresa

Thank you for the welcome. I am very excited about my new journey. I wish you all continued success. I'm sure that I will be talking to you all. Actually Audree, I have been following the Lower BMI thread. I'm sure I will be posting there. It's a great forum. Best of Luck, Teresa

Hello All! This is my first post. I have had my consultation with the doctor, and he has submited to my insurance company. I am getting the other things in line and passing my time getting as educated as possible. This site is AWESOME. This is definately the place to go for help and support. I look forward to making many new friends here. Of course I am overwhelmed !!!( with the decision, the uncertainty, the lifestyle change, the preop, the postop, being able to wrap my mind around the possibility of actually being able to lose weight. ) We can get into those things later. LOL . I think that these are possibly fears that everyone faces. So glad I found this site. This is by far the best forum ever.
