Thanks for the reply I had the acid reflux but not really bad. I also had a large hiatal hernia repaired at the same time and I really think that is why he wanted to do the fundo. I told him at that time I was wanting to have the VSG in the future and he said that would not be a problem at all. It is just happening alot sooner that I thought is was going to. Dr. Almanza said it will not be a problem to take it down. It is a little more complicated and I will have to stay an extra night at the hospital. I feel ok about it but I just want to hear from someone else that has had it done.

I am scheduled with Dr. Almanza on July 9th. I have heard good things about both Dr.s. I talked with my primary care dr and she said she backs me and will take care of me after surgery. You might talk to your dr and just see what he/she says.

cmeless - Why do you say that you do not recommend going to Hospital Jerusalem?

I am scheduled with him July 9 also. I know 2 ladies that had surgery with him in March and they are VERY happy. One has lost about 50 pounds and the other just over 20. The lady that has only lost about 20 pounds was not very big to start with so it is coming off a little slower. They both say they would go back to him in a minute.

I'm excited for you. I have a ticker on my phone that I look at 5 times a day too. Thats funny, I was try to find a way to put it on the desktop of my computer at work but I better not. My insurance said that bariatric surgery was covered so I went through all the hoops 3 month diet, psych, sleep apnea test, stress test ect.... Only for the insurance to tell me that it was an exclusion on our policy. I apealed it but it didn't work. So... I'm going to Mexico to have mine done. I can't pay what they ask for in the states. I know a few people who have been there and they say they would do it again toworrow. I have been eating alot healthier and have started walking in the neighborhood and have lost 20 pounds. I never have trouble losing.... it's just keeping it off. Good luck to you and stay in touch.

LOL I cracked up laughing outloud. One of my coworkers and I went on the HCG diet last year and we were soooo hungry. We used the phrase "cut a b***h". Hahahahaha
