What does it feel like when something gets stuck?
CharlotteCS posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just wondering....only banded last week so I want to know what to expect. -
The last thing I remember is my doctor saying "you aren't going to remember anything after this moment". Next thing I knew I was in recovery and they were telling me to wake up. I didn't even feel going to sleep on this one, but when I had a c-section I remember a numbness coming over me for about 10 seconds and I was out. You will do great! Good luck!

Wife is against me getting the band- very bummed

My husband was against it too and we were cash pay, but I told him I refuse to live the rest of my life this way. Our daughter had gastric bypass a year ago and looks just beautiful. She didn't exercise at first either, but now that she's lost her weight, she has her energy back and started working out and doing Zumba to tone up. Lapband will force you to make life changes on eating. You will not regret it if you go ahead with the surgery. Oh by the way, I would have had the surgery with or without his approval. The mental aspect of losing your weight and being happy is very important. -
Hi, I'm 55 and I was banded two weeks ago. I've lost all of my weight 4 or 5 times only to gain it back. I decided I was not going to live the rest of my life fighting my weight and being fat so I went for it. So far its been a breeze. Had my surgery on Thursday and was back at work on Monday. Good luck!

Robin, I had my surgery on the 21st. I had enough pain the second day to take pain med twice, but that is all. Third day I was up and doing things. Just sore. Went back to work on day 5. I didnt have bandages or stitches. They put some clear tape over my incisions and said it will eventually disappear. My worst pain was in my shoulder blades and I've heard that is from the gas. My doctor had me on Clear liquids for the first three days and I have to be on soft liquids, Soups, yogurt for 5 weeks ugh. OMG I'd kill for a Taco Bell taco lol I've started my Vitamins and Calcium, but I'm struggling to find a Protein drink that I can handle every day. So far they all remind me of the upper GI so my throat closes LOL Since the day they weighed me before surgery I've lost 14 pounds so I'm happy. Good luck! Charlotte

I was banded on 4/21/11 by Dr. Cribbins in Dallas, Tx. Arrived at 5:30 a.m. Went in for surgery at 7:00 a.m. and left for home at 10:45. Slept most of the day. The next day most of my pain was in my shoulder blades. I took the pain medication twice. The following day I was up with just some soreness. Went back to work on Monday. I did Clear liquids for three days and now I'm on Soups and yogurt. I"m concerned because I just don't feel anything. I expected to feel full or bloated if I ate more than 1/4th a cup, but I don't. I was wondering on liquids how fast does your pouch empty? Also, I'm only hungry in the evenings. Oh, I've tried 10 different Protein drinks and thrown every one in the trash. Is there a protein pill? Not sure I can continue to drink that stuff. Does anyone know of good tasting protein? Thanks! Charlotte
