body not liking liquids after sleeve....
ladyblue72 replied to saints92's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 6 months out and drinking water still hurts a little when it hits my stomach. Try to drink 20 ounces when you first wake up, 20 more an hour before lunch and 20 more before bedtime. I highly recommend that you drink Vitamin Water Zero. I found that when I started to drink VWZ the pounds started shedding. -
Is this lactose intolerance or just normal diarreha?
ladyblue72 replied to Tee23's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Diaherria was horrible for the first couple of weeks for me. After I started eating some solids it slowed down. I found that the Protein shakes and milk became impossible to drink. I am 3 months out and still have dumping after my first meal every day. -
Congratulations!! You have inspired us all to keep on keeping on!

I made a chart that has from my highest weight down to my ultimate goal. Every pound I lose, I mark off and it gives me a visual of my accomplishments. I am a teacher and I have been off since May. I haven't had to wear any "nice" clothes all summer. When I went into my closet yesterday to find something nice to wear to a gathering, I did not fit in ANYTHING!! My daughter was crying she was laughing so hard at my reaction to my falling off clothes. Little moments like that in my journey remind me of how much I LOVE the procedure!

I was told not to use a straw also... but I use one everytime I drink. Helps me get in my liquids or I would NEVER get 60+ ounces down a day! I haven't seen any problems with using them and I am almost 3 months out.

I am 7 weeks out and my hair is starting to slowly come out. I am dreading the baldness badly!!

I understand! My kids thinks my loose skin under my arms is funny and grab at it! I do not find it funny at all! (But I am relieved that it is skin and not rounded fat~! )

Depends on the food... I can eat 1/2 cup to a cup of food per meal. More course foods, I eat less of. I am 7 weeks out. My doctor told me no breads of any kind including crackers... surprised that you are eating crackers.

I lovethe " vitamin water" brand drinks. Especially the Dragonfruit one. Powerade Zero kept my bowels flowing too well! LOL

I had my sleeve on 4/28/11. I'm down 34lbs. I can see the difference in my clothes. No one has really said anything about my loss. I just keep having mental issues thinking that I will start gaining it back like I always do at this point. I really thought that I would have lost over 40 by now. My dr. said it took more that a month to gain.... it will take more than a month to loose. I know he is right. I really thought this would be easier. Sticking to low carb/high protein is hard work!

You are doing awesome! I hope my weighloss will speed up a notch! 1 month out and 23 lbs lost.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome & Sleeve
ladyblue72 replied to MSanti's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I too have PCOS & hypothyroidism. I had my surgery almost 3 weeks ago. I lost 17 lbs the first week and then hit a stall for week 2 and half of my 3rd week. I finally lost 4 lbs this past weekend. I was very depressed about the stall, and figured that because of my PCOS I was amongst the few that the surgery doesn't work for. I hope I am wrong. I wish all my PCOS sisters well!
