Hello all!! I too was banded July 13th and this is what has helped me : -gas x strips (NO) didn't work for me, but may for u. One reason is because these strips are meant to move gas trapped INSIDE the intestines, well our gas isn't trapped in the intestines -after I took pain medicine, I would pull my knees up to my chest as far as they would go! This got things moving! -fetal position and rocked-this too got things moving -just sit on the toilet and move around ...think "channeling the poot" lol!! -massage your stomach and surrounding areas! -HEATING PAD! (Now this one, especially with my back was GOD SENT! lol) After day 3-4 Im still having a small amount, but my stomach isn't as bloated! Good luck to u!

Hello all! I was banded 7/13/11 and I'm down 13 lbs (yup, in just 4 days!) physically I'm not hungry, but boy oh boy how I want to eat SOMETHING! lol This definetley proves that lap band is not going to change ANYTHING until we change how we emotionally and conciously (sp?) think about and feel about food! What was your pasttime to take your mind off food? Good luck to all of you loves!

Ooooo and a HEATING PAD and small pillow was my saving grace!!! Also, while your on pain mess and filling all good, try bringing your knees up to your stomach or rolling in a ball, or jiggling your stomach just to get the gas moving. IT HELPS! So far, sown 13 lbs! I'm loving it...but this week has been HARD!

@Activity I want to get to a size 10, or 160lbs, whichever comes first! @Lisa yayy!! I'm so proud of us! This gas pain has been intense! Also my back hurts soooo bad! Hopefully everything will be ok in a few weeks

I agree, ive been eating/drinking the Swanson kind and it tastes like heaven, lol

You guys (and gals) WE CAN DO THIS!!!! My surgery is 3 days away and for some reason I decided to get on Youtube tonight to look at before and after pictures. There were people that were 6-10 months post op that have lost 100 lbs!!! Say Whhhattt??!!! (think Minion voice..lol) I don't know about you all, but if you are nervous, afraid, skeptical, about to have a panic attack..hell whatever....STOP IT! Think about what you had to do to get to this point. If you have a surgery date, HORRAY! If not...keep kicking it sister or brother, YOU....WILL...GET...THERE! With that being said, In preparation for my surgery, I'm writing my body a farewell letter. Farewell to the things I despise, and Hello to the NEW and IMPROVED, heathier, more vivacious, "Divafied", Cant-tell-me-nothing-because-I-have-it-going on, downright SEXY CurlyDiva! Hey everyone!!! Just checking in to let everyone know the surgery went great! I've been walking like a mad woman, but the gas pain is still kicking my butt! Not too much pain at the incision sites, really only the gas, and gas x isn't helping :-( will post my surgery say story tomorrow! Hope all of my fellow 7-13 followers are doing well!

So as my surgery approaches, I find myself more intrigued by the actual procedure! So of course I went to YouTube am found a video! Just a suggestion....go to YouTube and search lapband before and after pictures. My surgery is Wednesday and I was freaking out to, but after watching those videos it got my excited again! Hope it helps you too

Your surgeon should tell you once you have a endoscopy (or pretesting). If he finds that you have one, he'll tell u that it will be fixed during surgery. It shouldn't affect the surgery at all.

had pretesting today and the nurse told me I would have a non narcotic pain pump that would send a small steady flow of pain meds Inserted in me, and then after 5 days I could just "pull it out" say whaaaatt? Lol. Anyone else had a "pain pump" inserted?

So glad I saw this thread tonight because today at pretesting, my Doctors nurse TOTALLY pissed me off!!! She was going over the clear liquid diet that I now have to start (blah!!!!) and when I asked how was I to get protein (ya know, can I have shakes, or take a vitamin) she laughed! The B*tch actually laughed!!!!! So I was like, "honestly, there is nothing funny, and I'm genuienly concerned about my well being"..she says (in a condescending tone) "the surgeon wouldn't put you on anything that's detrimental to your health" I WAS LIVID!!!

YES! someone else that has had it!! When she told me I could pull it out myself, I was thinking whoaaaaaa I don't think so!!! Lol. Hopefully I won't need it much

So as I was putting in my vacation request at work to have time to recover from surgery...I drifted off into "Fried chicken Fantasy Land" (lmao!!) and it got me to thinking...what am I going to indulge in before surgery?! What was your "last supper"?

So I was lurking on this forum for about a month (by the way you all are amazing!!) so after being approved for surgery this past Friday I was expecting them to say, "oh and by the way, only liquids from now until surgery...Welp, I was in for a big suprise when she said "Just come here on July 6th for pretesting, and your pre-op appt with the dr will be the day before surgery." soooooo Maye she'll tell me only liquids at the July 6th appt. Even still, my surgery is July 13th so that's only a week of liquids!! Sound familiar to anyone?

OMG, I want a box of fried chicken, rice and gravy, oh oh!! An a piece of pizza, lmao!! Ok, I kid I kid, I'm more than ready to give it all up awh! I hate that your last supper sucked :-(

Shelley's post just made me laugh so loud!! Lol I agree with Allie, by saying someone else noticed will really ruffle his feathers! My husband HATES when I say someone compliments me, he's always like "No one should be looking at my chocolate drop!!" lol...men! #RollsEyes

My surgery is scheduled for July 13th whoop whoop!!!! I'm soooo excited! Dr. James Barnes, at the Minimally Invasive Surgery Center at Christus Schumpert Medical Center will perform my surgery!
