  2. I feel like the July Bandsters are such comrades! Lol!! How are you all doing with weight lost so far? I was banded 7/13/11 and so far I'm down 16 lbs! Amazing! I can start on mushies 7/27/11 SN: I had no pre-op requirements so I ate what I wanted up until the day before surgery so all of my weight loss has been POST-op

    Day 6 and Starving

The reason some doctors say stay on clear liquids is so that your body won't have any thing to digest. With digestion comes movement, with movement comes the opportunity for your band to not heal and adhere to the stomach that it was just sewn to. Be careful with your choices, bc your body is different from the next person. Good luck to you!

    Hurts to swallow liquid?

Once you're newly banded you can't drink liquids like you used to. You have to take small sips! Good luck to u!

I TOTALLY got restriction from my first fill too!!! He put in 4cc for my FIRST fill, that was on Tuesday. It's Thursday and I've lost 3 Lbs!!!

    July 2011 Bandsters!

yay we're "band twins"!! I too was banded on 7/13/11! Got my first fill yesterday with 4cc and omg am I feeling the restriction!! Let me tell you this, I walked in his office STARVING and walked out, took a sip of water and felt like I had just eaten a full meal. Tried to eat applesauce about 3 hours later, took me 45 minutes to do so! There is hope for restriction after the first fill!

    1st fill Whoop Whoop!!!

As soon as I took a sip of water it felt like it didn't want to go down. When I was waiting at the dr.s office I was STARVING, when I left and drank some water...feeling GONE. Feels like I just ate a full meal!
  11. Hey guys! My surgery was 7/13/11 and I have been in AGONY ever since! Today was the first day the gas pains didn't kick my ass! Lol. I'll tell my surgery story in the post op section, but the good thing is that I'm down 10 lbs since Wednesday. I started at 248, now I'm 238.4 lbs. Just a forewarning, you really don't understand how much you CANT drink after surgery. I've had this one Water bottle I've sipped on for three days, and this 1cup of Jello, but I'm not even hungry! I dreamed about a bag of cheetos last night, lol! Good luck to u all!

    Can't sleep on port side

    Thank you all loves!
  13. Hey all!!! I'm having a hard time sleeping on my left side!!! My port is on the left side of my tummy and whenever I try to sleep on the left side it hurts in the upper right of my abdomen area, sorta like a pulling sensation. Like organs or hanging with no support or something! Weird I know. I was banded July 13,11. Anyone else still can't sleep a certain way?
  14. Oh AND I still can't lay on my left side without being in pain!! Ugh!
  15. Hello all! I was banded 7/13/11 and I'm down 20 lbs since surgery and now im stuck here! I'm not upset about it though because 20 lbs in about 3 weeks is FAST! So my body is surely holding on to everything now for fear I'm starving myself, lmao! Everyone stay encouraged and realize that we didn't gain wait over night, so we won't lose it overnight either. Good luck guys and gals!
  16. Thank you so much!!

    August Bandsters????

[Check out the forum in here that's called food and nutrition! There are amazing receipes that I'm just salivating I'm so ready to try out! Lol! I start mushies next week (2nd week post op) and they have alot of receipes for all stages! Good luck August Bandsters!!!! quote name=Mscarter007' timestamp='1310806071' post='1640353] I spoke with my mom yesterday afternoon over lunch. I explained to her that I was having the surgery and she was very taken aback. She does not believe I need it but said she will support me on my journey. I'm happy for that. The only problem I have is that my mom chooses to focus on the negative aspect of things. I don't think she knows it when does but it just natural for her. She said things like "you're not gonna like the fact that you are gonna have to drink liquids" or "You're gonna be mad when your husband and your friends all go out to eat and you can't". I am glad I told her but this confirms my thoughts.......that I will have to distance myself from her until I become stable : mentally and physically. I also bought a Ninja today. I've been wanting one for the longest. It works really well. I didn't like my Protein shake so i'm researching protein juices and non flavored powders to put into my food. Any thoughts or ideas?
  18. OHHHH DAVE I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE RHIS POST!!!!! I hate to see people type "I was losiing weight so fast and now I'm THREE WEEKS post op and have slowed down, or gained some weight" Come on people, OF COURSE you're going to gain a few Lbs going from all liquids to mushies or what have u. The first 6 weeks should be about HEALING! Allow your body to do so.
  19. I respectfully disagree I was banded July 13, I did not have a pre-op diet and I've lost 20.5 lbs since my surgery WITHOUT losing 1 Lb before my surgery (that's 20 lbs in 7 days!) @banded it CAN be done, since my surgery, I haven't had ANY food, only Water, crystal lite, and chicken broth good luck to u!!
  20. For my liquid post op I've been taking the seasoning packets out of the ramen noodle packages mixing with alot of cup of hot water and viola! Gourmet meal! Lmao
  21. Hi deb! I've been banded for 6 days now and sounds to me like you're on track! I'm still gassy, I still don't feel hungry, I still have problems with just Water going down too...it's ok! I'm still on Clear Liquids and can't even drink Protein shakes now, so maybe you are still swollen and need to try clear liquids for a few days! Good luck to you!
  22. @tracy that's GReat!!!!! And don't fret about the scale not moving, remember this is the time for healing. Also, prepare yourself to gain a few lbs when u can start eating full solids again, because again you're adding food back to your diet from a liquid diet! So kudos to you!! @Gina that's absolutley amazing!!! I'm literally salivating at the thought if eating eggs again!!! Lol 7/27 is my mushy start day too. Yayyy for all of us on our way to ONEderville!!!
  23. You might want to switch surgeons, but also just because you CAN eat it, don't do it! If you simply slow down and enjoy your meal, you will get full!! you're probably eating so much so fast that your body hasn't caught up to you yet. Whenever youre done, and you feel "stuffed" it means you ate way to much! You're never supposed to feel stuffed, only satisfied. Good luck to you!
  24. Whoop whoop!! Bashy that's AWESOME!! Youre kicking butt girlie! We'll be out of Twoderville and into Onederland in NO time!
  25. Hi love! Just wondering, when is the last time you went for a fill? Consulted with your surgeon? Nutritionist? Yes dieting is hard, hell diets don't work at all!! But it's a lifestyle change that you should be committing to. Ask yourself if you are utilizing all of the "tools" that come with your band. This isn't a journey that you should or even HAVE to go on alone. Much love to u!!
