    New Here...........5 days post-op

Wow congrats to you. Hope you have success with this process. I am 3 weeks today post op. No big problems. Very happy that I did it. Good Luck Lisa
  3. My pre surgery diet was not total liquid although it was 800-900 calories per day. I could have the meals provided by the surgeons office and protien drinks. (one meal per day and the rest protien shakes and other snacks). I didn't think I could do it either, but for the first time in my life I was determined to do it. I did not have one crumb of any food that was not on the program. Mind you, I am a diet cheater, and can always find a way to cheat. I was so proud of myself that I did this without cheating, and it made me hopeful that I can stay on the post of program and lose the weight. Good Luck
  4. My doctors says that everyone is different. Your doctor should not be putting a number and date goal for you. I am 3 weeks post op, and in the last 5 days I have not lost anything. I know it will come, but it;s very frustrating
  5. Continued...to my heart. I usually take a water pill and they had taken me off of it. I am on soft foods now. Can't believe how little I can eat. It's amazing. I am down 34 pounds from Dec 1 when I started the presurgery diet. I tried meatballs on NYE and it didn;t go well. So I will try meat in another week or so. Sticking to cottage cheese and pudding for the next few days.

  6. Telisa,

So sorry for not getting with you before now. I am doing good. I am back at work today. Very tired, but I'm plugging away. I was released from the hospital on 12/16 and back in on 12/17 with congestive heart failure. I was full of fluids and was having trouble breathing. I was so scared, but they re-admitted me and got all the fluids off. I had an echogram and there is n...

  7. Telisa, I finally got the laptop from the library here. Yesterday i was pretty much out of it all day. My niece stayed here all night with me. I am doing great, no nausea. I have 8 oz of Protien to drink today and they gave it to me at 1 and it is almost 9 and I still have 3 oz to drink. I AM SO FULL. My niece ordered room service this morning and it didn't even phase me.

  8. I will have my surgery tomorrow morning at 9:30. I am so excited and tottally nervous. I've lost about 12 pounds on the pre-surgery diet. I have not had one morsel or crumb of food that was not on my program. I loved the powdered eggs. Go figure. I will be at Lacks Surgical Center is Grand Rapids, MI. My surgeon is Dr. Kemmeter. 2011 is the beginning of my new life, and I am determined to be successful at this. Wow, I can't believe I am actually doing this.

    Nervous

My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow. While on the pre-op diet I have been having dreams about eating things I shouldn't. Last night I ate a whole chicken. Talk about wierd. I was glad when I woke up and realized it was only a dream. Good luck to you. You are just a week behind me.

  11. Hi Tlisa, I just added my ticker and I wonder if it is working? Can you see it?

  12. Yes, I go for my final weigh in and final lab slip today after work. I'm hopeng for a big loss. I've been on the dietary suppliment since Dec 2. I feel like i've lost a lot and I have not had one morsel of food that wasn't in my package.

I'm looking forward to the sexy mama stage. You don't even look fat in your picture???

    UGh WORST NEWS EVER....

I had the same problem but with Diet Coke. I stopped cold turkey on October 1st. I was prepared for massive headaches and nausea, because I had stopped before and had a terrible time. But this time it was a piece of cake. I would start out every morning at McDonalds with a big 32oz Diet Coke, and then at least 3 or 4 20 oz bottles throught the day. I wish you luck. You can do it... it's for a good cause. My surgery is next Tuesday.

    Aftermath

I heard that that all goes away after the surgery. People who have the sleeve had to be reminded to eat. I am the same as you with having food as my buddy. Me and food get along great. I am one week away from my surgery and all I can do is think about all the lovely food that I won't be able to eat anymore. I'm praying that all those thoughts are gone after surgery.
  15. Yes I got my picture up, Hopefully in a few months I will look a lot different. I got for my last Pre-Op appointment tomorrow. I sure hope all goes well and my surgery will continue to go through on the 14th. One week from today. Wish me luck!!!

  16. Hi, OK we are friends now. I will upload a picture when I get home tonight. :-)

  17. Hi, I am new here. Just registered, and I am scheduled for my surgery on Dec 14. I have been thinking about WLS for 20 years. I'm 53 and the past 3-4 years have been bad for me in terms of getting around. The deciding factor for me happened this summer when I went to my nephews wedding. I live in Michigan and the wedding was in South Carolina. Although I was there I really felt like I was unable to participate. I didn't go to the beach with the others, didn't go on the tour of the area, didn't go shopping, etc.... Just kinda stayed in the house the whole week while everyone else had fun doing things. When I got home I decided this is it. and started by attending a seminar and now here we are 6 months later and I am one week and one day away. I go from being scared to death to excited. I can't wait to get my life back. There are so many things that I used to do that I don't do anymore and am really looking forward to being able to do it all again. Wish me luck and I would love to hear some success stories from anyone out there. Thank You... Middlesister
