  1. Well I can say honestly that I had a good weekend with my eating! Lost back 2 pounds from Wed to today. With the extreme cold I did not get in any exercise. I just felt like hibernating. I did get some great healthy food choices precooked for the week though so that will help! Thank you all so much for the encouragement. It has really helped me to see that I was not the only one who struggled during my THIRD sleeved Christmas.

Lipstick Lady- You are totally right! This is manageable. I mean at one time I had 125 LBS to lose now I have 10-20. In the overall picture of my life this will be easy!!!

Michigan Chic- Sounds like you and I are in exact same place. We can do this!

Brown Does All- You are correct. It is all about balance. I still want to live and enjoy food but I can OVERINDULGE like I did from Oct-Jan 2nd ever again. It has to be little and infrequent splurges.

Thanks again guys for all the support!!!

  2. Last year I gained so much weight, this year I stayed accountable (scale and MFP) and it was much better. Even with lots of treats... I kept it in the ballpark most of the time because this time I was watching the intake more closely. Welcome back girls! I know you can do it! I am within my 3 pound bounce range goal... hope to take that goal down another 5 slowly .

It gives me lots of hope to hear that you were able to rebound after a decent gain last year. I sometimes worry that I "broke" my sleeve or something with that Holiday binge but you have given me hope that indeed it does still work!!

  3. Well I weighted and it is as bad as I thought it would be. Gained 10 pounds since I last weighted in October. Gained 20 from my lowest weight. Am now 25 -30 from goal. I have pretty much partied all Holiday season with no effort what so ever!! I am SOOOOO pissed at myself but I learned many lessons:

    1. I HAVE to weigh at least once a week. Maybe I would have caught this sooner if I had

    2. This will take attention and diligence the rest of my life. I can’t just pretend I am a normal person when it comes to food cause I am not.

    3. Sugar/carbs have to be rareish treats not every day indulgences.

    4. I need support from my fellow sleeve brothers and sisters. I need to get on Bariatric pal daily.

    5. Exercise is necessary not only for my weight loss but also for my mental well being. I am a stress eater and the exercise helps with the stress.

I restarted a ticker and set some new goals for myself. Joined the Valentines Day challenge and set that goal at 10 pounds.

Really trying hard right now not to beat myself up but it is so hard!

  4. Okay guys I weighed the first time since my Birthday Oct 14th. I gained 10 pounds over the Holidays. 10!!! I was within 15 pounds of goal. I guess I just got lazy and decided to eat and it has really caught up with me. Besides the Holidays I have also been dating a lot and these guys have been taking me to the nicest restaurants and I have really enjoyed indulging. Well now I realize it was not at all worth it. I can not believe how easily all those slider foods went down at 2.5 years post-op. It is so much harder now.

I am back on track as of yesterday! Doing the Boot camp until I lose back what I gained and then will slowly add small portions of healthy carbs back in.

SERIOUSLY Though....I gained 10 pounds so easily that is scares me to death. One other thing I have learned during this is that I need to weigh at least once a week to keep me in check. Maybe if I would have been doing that I would have got it under control before I hit the +10 mark.

It is really hard to not beat myself up right now but at least I have learned some lessons. The biggest lesson is that I must stay diligent the rest of my life or the pounds creep back on VERY EASILY! Another lesson! I need the support of people here. I had not been on line here in months and months. I need you guys!!!

Sorry for rambling but so much on my mind right now. Thanks for listening!

  5. I get Quest bars from GNC. they are good Protein and low calories and less than 5 grms sugar... The best one is chocolate chip cookie dough.. but they have a variety of flavors.. I only use them for a quick snack if I am out and about.

I too LOVE the Quest Bars but my favorite is the Peanut Butter jelly and then the chocolate Peanut Butter. Quest is the only bars I can truly say I actually enjoy instead of just tolerate!
