Nervous about insurance approval

I also have Cigna. My approval went very smooth. After my 6 months of pre op visits my doctor sent in all the paperwork and I was approved in 2 days. I just had my surgery on the 17th. My BMI was 35 but I have high colestoral , high BP, thyroid. Good Luck Kathy -
I am new to posting but not lurking. I am set for my surgery on May 17th. The hospital just called and said the procedure is around 25,000.00. Is this correct? It seems very high from what i have been reading. Is this the cost of my surgeon also or is that seperate? Please help with any answers you might have. Thanks Katwoman Texas

I am going to have my surgery on the 17th of May. The hospital called to day and gave me an estimate of 25,000.00 for the surgery cost. This is not with an overnite stay. My part is only 20 percent which is a lot of money to me but that seems to be a lot of money and higher than what most are being charged.I pay for my regular visits seperate so that cant be why. Any lite on this would really help. Thanks Kathy

This is through insurance where my protion is 20 percent. They told me this was for the day surgery doctors and all.No overnite stay for me. Maybe they are just over estimating the cost. Kathy

Yes you will get your surgery. I am going through true results also but in Austin. I also have a mild case of sleep apnea. My surgery is set for the 17th. Good Luck to you.Kathy

I also have Cigna. I had to do the six month weight loss visits. My surgery is next week. Once these were done they sent in my paperwork and I was approved 2 day later. hope this helps. Katwomantexas

I to have Cigna open access and just finished all my classes on 04/18/2011. The doctors office submitted the paperwork last thursday and I got a call this morning that I am approved. Good Luck

6 month wait

Hi there, I have been a lurker on these post for about 9 months. I to have Cigna. I just finish my 6 months of weight loss program. They submitted my paperwork on 04/21/2011. Today I got the call that I was approved.Three days I couldnt believe it. My surgery is in May. The 6 months are there to make sure you want this and to do what it takes to get it. The time does go by fast. Good luck.
