  1. Sorry for being vague but I'm on from cell. Everything is well I've had no pain at all. Catheter was not bad at all....just now starting to eat. Will inform you guys thoroughly when with computer. Thanks for the prayers and well wishes. So happy to be on the losers bench! Oh and they detected a hernia by stomach which was removed...will describe at another time. Thanks again for all the support!
  2. I can't believe this day is around the corner already. I am super anxious and excited at the same time. I have to admit I have cheated my pre-op diet a couple of times but I have lost five pounds so far. Started my diet Last week Monday. Too bad I won't be able to have a nice dinner for my birthday on Thursday! But I guess that is part of the sacrifices we have to make to change the body we don't want to have. I don't know how much pain I will be in after the surgery and I am nervous about that. Did anyone struggle a lot with the pain?

Day 3 on my 2 week Pre Op Diet....

In my case, day 1and 2 were easy but by day three I was feeling weak, hungry, grumpy, tired and I had a terrible headache every single day thereafter. I completed day 1-6 without cheating but on day 7 which was easter Sunday, I threw out my diet and ate some food. My headache completely went away. On Monday I called my nutritionist and told her about my headaches and how I cheated. She recommended I do the modified diet instead, which is having 3 protein shakes a day, a small meal and a snack. I started this diet on Monday and I haven't had a headache since, and haven't felt the urge to cheat. I found out that wendy's chili salad is a great source of protein and it pretty munch contains everything you need in a small meal. I've been having that for lunch ever since and it's so delicious! (I also try to eat about 2 ounces of grilled chicken with my meal to add more protein) and as my snack I usually have an apple. I ordered my meal replacement protein shakes from bariatric advantange. I find that the chocolate is the best flavor and each shake has 27 g of protein. Their protein bars are great (by the way if you do the modified diet you have to toss out the protein bar from your original liquid diet). I have two days left and then I will be on the other side! I wish everyone else luck!
  4. Is anyone else feeling tension as we near our date?
  5. My PCOS began after I had my first child, a boy. I also wasn't aware that having a male fetus instead of a female can cause some sort of change and produce this horrible syndrome. I was shocked to find this out when it happened to my cousin after she had her boy. When she had her first born girl, she was perfectly fine. After her boy her doctor informed her of the affects a male fetus has on the mother and how it can cause the mother to develop PCOS. I would have never related my PCOS to my pregnancy.

Cool. How was your experience there? How many pounds have you lost since surgery?
  11. I am crossing my fingers so that I will have your same experience with the catheter.
  12. Welcome to the pre-op clan JoJo! My surgery is scheduled for 5/2. Good luck with yours. ybnormal: Thanks for that information I will look her up. Juliarh: I did not know that carbs affected pcos either! I will be sure to keep that in mind next time I try to stuff any carbs in my mouth! I am happy to hear you have had success despite your pcos! Congrats! leeblewb: I walked for an hour yesterday it felt pretty darn good!
  13. How long after the surgery did you wait before you began with your exercise routine? And you are right about the energy part. I remember being able to do so much more when I was 200 pounds. Now that I am this big it becomes so difficult for me to even get the energy to clean up around the house. I feel so tired all the time!
  14. All your posts are so promising. I also have PCOS, but unlike some of you, I do have a son. My relationship with his father was over soon after I became pregnant. I am now married to a wonderful man, been with my husband (he has no children) for almost 7 years and never used birth control until a couple of months ago; my OBGYN suggested I get off of Metformin and start using low-ovral birth control to see if it could help regulate my months of non stop periods (which it did). My surgeon took me off the birth control at the beginning of April though, because of the risk of blood clotting during/after surgery. My main reason, like many of you, for weight loss is to be able to maybe one day give my husband a child. I am happy to hear that it has worked for some of you and maybe one that it will be me too! My surgery is scheduled for Monday, lets hope in a year or two I am pregnant!
  15. I haven't really been told that I am having one. I just assumed everyone gets one. Isn't that the case? Good luck with yours Kelly!
  16. Thanks for sharing your story. It gives me a sense of relief knowing that despite your PCOS you have still managed to loose a lot of weight. Congrats on your success!! As far as my periods go, it is the opposite of yours. I usually get my periods for months non stop, then it will go away for a couple of weeks and return again for months! I was also on Metformin but it wasn't working for me so I started birth control and that really helped regulate it. Unfortunately my surgeon took me off of them because of the risk of blot clotting during surgery. I hope my period regulates as quickly as yours. Have you been doing ok with the exercise? I know that will be my biggest challenge.

    scared & feeling numb

Firstly, congratulations on your success. Remember that you have proven to be a fighter when it comes to your health! No matter what the outcome is keep fighting and don't get discouraged. My prayers will be with you. Michelle

    I know i am obsesssing!

I agree with Ashley I think it depends on your insurance. The best thing to do is contact them directly and ask for the requirements. Good luck! Pre-op here as well. Surgery is scheduled for Monday!

    !!! MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT !!!

Congrats!! Keep up the good work!
  21. Hi Vicky! I have also wondered about the catheter... never had one on either. A friend of mine said hers didn't bother her but I have heard other stories about discomfort with catheters. Hi Kristy Welcome!! Good luck to you too!
  22. Oh I completely forgot about the lip balm! Thank you so much for the reminder!!!
  23. Hi dnicewife! I am glad so many of us are at the same stage. I hear that some people don't have to do the two weeks diet simply because their surgeons don't require it.
