  1. Thanks! I have lost a total of 94 pounds. There is really no secret: Stick to your portions, take your Vitamins and drink at least 64 oz. of Water. I have never been one to diet. I eat what everyone else eats, just always in moderation!
  2. 73 pounds is a great accomplishment. It's not about how long it takes you to get there. Just stay focused and keep going. Here are a couple of tips that helped me with my stalls: -Check Vitamin levels - Any vitamin deficiency can cause stalls -Water - I had days when I would forget how much water I should have been drinking -Exercise - If you stopped working out, start! -Protein - Always eat it first -Stress - Can be a big staller! (It sounds like you are going through a rough time; find something that relaxes you: Exercise, yoga, reading, dancing anything! I hope this helps!
  3. Anewme@28: Thank you so much! I caught myself strutting on the treadmill the other day hahahaha!!

    80 Pounds Down! New Pic!

    You look great! Congrats!
  6. My weight gain and loss has been a roller coaster since Surgery. I have learned to accept the changes in my body and to just keep pushing forward and ignore it. I am 11 months out and have lost a total of 94 pounds. It WILL happen for you too. Just be patient with your body and don't freak out when you notice a gain, eventually you start loosing again.

    NSV shout outs

Here are my NSV's 1. I can share clothes with my sisters again! 2. I can fit into a park swing 3. I can wrap a towel around my body 4. I can cross my legs! (just a little though) hehe 5. I feel more energetic 6. I am more confident 7. My 11 year old son can finally wrap his arms around my waist (by the way, most of his friend don't recognize me since the surgery. A couple of them have walked right by me without noticing whose mom I was. It's cute to see their shocked expressions when they realize it's me!) 8. For some reason, my memory has very much improved!

  10. Hi everyone! Last post I made on this forum I was a bit confused and scared about my weight loss progress since I had lost my insurance in the middle of it all and was clueless as to how I was doing in terms of Vitamins and weight loss. Well, as I mentioned before I was able to get my insurance back and finally went in for a follow up appointment 6 months after surgery. As per my nutritionist, I am doing really well in terms of weight loss! As far as all my Vitamin levels go, I was low on Iron, (to be expected because I have a bleeding disorder) and on Calcium. Everything else was normal and right were it needed to be, especially the Protein levels! She recommended I change the calcium brand I was using because it may not work for me, and also suggested I stop my work outs for a bit until I am able to bring my iron levels back up. I usually feel really out of breath and dizzy after just a couple of minutes of working out, and it's not a Water intake issue since I always drink 62 oz. or more of water per day. Anyways, just wanted to update those who encouraged me and helped me get through those months of uncertainty and confusion and to thank all of you for being so supportive! You guys rock!! Here is another pic update!
  11. Hi guys, I've been away for a while. I think I was regretting coming on here and seeing everyone who had the surgery around my surgery date loose a lot more weight than I have but I am so over it!! I am very happy with what I have accomplished so far even if I am a slow loser. Six months out and I still love my sleeve and all that's it helped me accomplish! Here is a pic update! The first one is of me six months ago at 298 lbs. and the second is one of my most recent pics weighing at 228 lbs. I have had my struggles and even lost my insurance coverage during my process and haven't been able to schedule follow up appointments since my 2 month after surgery follow up. Thankfully, I am insured again and have a new follow up appointment for next week. I hope that my doctors can give me suggestions to break this stall! I hope everyone else who is having the same issues as me finds the courage to stay positive and keep focusing on the goal ahead. Let's do it!! :xena_banana:
  12. Thank's you guys for all the wonderful comments!!! For some reason I had been thinking I was loosing slowly because I didn't loose any pounds in August nor did I loose anything in Oct. - November, And since I have been avoiding this website for so long I thought that was a terrible thing and that I was falling behind!! lol I swear I would be so lost without this website and all of you guys!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have my appointment this week and will keep you guys posted! :cornut:
  13. I have PCOS and my symptoms are still the same. For the first couple of months I was a little more regular in terms of the menses but I went back to my irregular periods after the first two months. What I have learned from this website is that eating too many carbs can worsen the PCOS and it's symptoms. The cysts may or may not go away. I have a friend who is very thin and she has PCOS and has cysts in her ovaries. So I guess it will all depend on your body. Good luck on your surgery!
  14. I am in the same rut. 6 months out and 70 lbs down, haven't lost anything in almost 2 months. However, 70 pounds is a big deal!!! My only advice is to stay focused and keep following your doctor's advice.

    Anyone else belong here?

I am glad you are doing well Mesa!
  16. I don't know where exactly I am supposed to be in terms of weight loss at this point. I recently lost my insurance and had to miss my last doc. appointment. I was sleeved May 2nd and have lost a total of 66 pounds after surgery so far. I feel great and I am so happy I have lost the 66 pounds but the weight is coming off really slowly now. I am eating a bit more now and I am wondering if I should just keep doing as I am doing. I work out 2-3 times a week, I drink 64 oz of Water a day and I am pretty sure I am getting at least 60 grams or more of Protein a day in meals. I haven't really drank any Protein shakes in a long time. Did anyone else notice a significant stand still near the 5 month mark? Maybe I am just nervous about the weight coming off slowly!!

    Am I doing ok?

Supermom: Thank you so much for your input. It makes me feel a little better with my progress. My hair has also been falling out like crazy and I have been taking Biotin since my second month. I haven't noticed any changes in the hair loss. I still like you, have hair falling out all over the place. Maybe I should also increase my Protein intake and incorporate protein shakes again into my daily meal plans to up my protein intake to more than 70. I believe I have been averaging about 60 grams of protein. I haven't noticed any problems with my energy levels. I am actually a whole lot more active now and I get up so refreshed in the morning with the exception of course of PMS! Which is also horrible for me because sometimes I get it for weeks!!! It had regulated a bit the first three months but now I've been on it for almost the entire month which sucks! But I am used to this. It's my hormone imbalance. That's why I am ALWAYS on Iron pills. Which brings me to another subject... constipation (TMI? lol) I haven't been going to the bathroom regularly. There have been weeks where I would go 5 days without going. I know it could be because of the Iron I am taking but I really can't stop taking that. If I go more than 5 days I have to drink something to help it along. My scale is actually consistant in a way, being that I would randomly lose about 7 pounds but then I would stall up and down near each round number. For example my last weight I was 232. I fluctuate from there up and down 2-3 pounds. Like I would go up to 235 then back down to 230 and up to 232 again and back down to 230 eventually I would drop to 222 in one week and I know the same thing will happen. As it happened in the 260's 250's , 240's and now nearing the 230 mark. In August I noticed I didn't lose a pound but in Sept. I lost 10-12 pounds so far depending on the friendliness of the scale. Thanks again for your encouragement! And I am glad to see you are doing really well too! Keep it up! Coops: Thank you for the support! sleeve 4 me: Thanks for you support, and my Vitamins are always in my mouth right on schedule! I know I have slacked on the protein here and there but I usually get back on track with them. Weekends are especially tough for me to keep my meal plans since I am super busy but during the week i am right on track.
  18. I am dropping pounds much much slower now but the numbers are still going down eventually!
